It's a gorgeous setting and the food is fine. Service and hospitality disappointing. Every few years I go and remember that it never feels warm and welcoming.
The view is outstanding and the servers sweet, but inexperienced…. food was awful and expensive (fried shrimp could have been Gordon’s frozen) and lobster roll (is there such a thing as fake lobster like the fake crab)? Bar manager did ask on the way out and we were honest. He was also very sweet and bought us a drink…. So there’s that going for them. Again… the view and atmosphere is still worth the trip.
Food and service were great, wonderful tiramisu.
The food was very good, service friendly & the view fantastic.
Beautiful evening to be served in outside deck waitress efficient and pleasant My dish of breaded shrimp although tasty was a very small portion and tiny shrimp. And no sides served with it in general prices too high for portion sizes. Value for food not good. Ambiance on deck great No bread or crackers served with drinks I’m not a “big eater” but with a dessert I went away hungry
The service and food were excellent! Great for big groups.
The food was very good. The menu had good choices. The atmosphere was beautiful on the water. Had a great time. There was a live band and dancing. I really enjoyed the evening and can't wait to go back.
I usually thoroughly enjoy the food here, I had ordered the lobster roll and the lobster was delicious, however the roll was burnt and was filled only partially. I will not order that again.
This restaurant has greatly improved. The location was always attractive, but the service was confused and spotty. Now, someone manages the floor, watching the tables, and keeping things in order. A few tweaks to the menu have also made a nice difference. Book early, book often.
Food was just OK. Crab cakes were not " lump" as advertised. Far too much breading. More like crab meat stuffing with very minimal portions of crab. So $21 for two disks of bread. Web site has bottled beer at $6. It is $7. Service was excellent. The menu is very limited with virtually no sides offered. Not even French fries. The outside area where the band and the second bar is is the highlight of this place and would go back for drinks and live music. But for a restaurant experience, will not be back.
We like sitting inside. Outside can be pretty buggy. Food is consistent and the special Linguine fra Diavolo was excellent but super spicy…almost to the point of addicting. Portion sizes were spot on.
it wa awful…. we were hoping to have a celebratory luncheon. we were the only ones in the resstaursnt!
the room eas hot …. and expensive
we did not stay for dessert
since we were the only threesome in the entire restaurant , people certainly knew something that we didn’t
All was good, but you need to have more desserts, people look forward to having something delicious after a good meal!!
Excellent staff with so-so food. Ran out of a few menu items, but management was very proactive.
DO NOT GO..WAY OVER PRICED.
3 CRAB CAKES $29.00 were the size of hockey pucks
Chowder was cold..lobster grill cheese had the least amount of lobster they could get away with.
They add a 10% tip automatically and then want you to leave more.
This is a wonderful place to have lunch or dinner. Food, staff and ambiance wa perfect.
Waitress was lovely. Attentive. First cup of coffee served was cold, tasted burnt. Waitress quickly had a new pot made
We had lovely afternoon lunch at LaMottas. Food and service were terrific. Baked clams (whole clam, not just breading) and Calamari to start were great, mains were the Tuna BLTA, grilled tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes, and Caesar salad with lobster salad - everyone was happy and setting was delightful.
Took my parents out for fathers day. We had a lovely afternoon
We love this place, is a waterfront restaurant, with a lot of ambiance, they have a bar outside and other inside, outside they have live music . You can eat there less formal, but we choose inside, because there is view too , over the marine. We had claws chowder , very good, and swordfish. Good wines by the glass, our server was very good. We had a great time, we went back to the hotel by water taxi, so it’s make our experience amazing.
We had a delicious meal and the view was gorgeous!!
Lovely place, and great service, especially since the lunch crowd was thin. Been going here for years, and service has been spotty at times, especially dinner.
But a breezy day at the harbor with some seafood and white wine is as good as it gets.
Great view, food and service. Everything was perfect.
Great view food disappointing fish was dry a and tasteless
The restaurant was obviously understaffed, starting with waiting to be seated and having a waiter take our order. We had to ask for bread or rolls, which were rather stale. The waiter was inattentive and took a long time to eventually deliver our order. The food was OK, but it was not a really pleasant dining experience.
We came to LaMotta's to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. I made a reservation requesting a table by the water. There were several tables by the water available and the hostess said they were reserved. That was an immediate strike. The soup my husband ordered was luke warm and tasteless. My Caesars salad was romaine lettuce, croutons, no fresh grated cheese or anchovies. The dressing was mediocre. We ordered the salmon. It was served with the skin on top with the seasonings on top. When you removed the skin you also removed the toppings. It was served on clumpy cold couscous. Not great. My son ordered fish tacos. They arrived fried and tasteless. He said the mangos were not fresh. My husband asked 3 times to get his coffee refilled.
It was very cold in the dining room. There was an outside band and bar. I might recommend older friends to attend and have bar food and drink. It seemed like an active scene. Mostly 60+ men.
Service on the patio for dinner (6:30) was really poor/substandard - excuses from a waitress who has been around long enough to know better. A grilled seafood platter for 2 @ $70 was fair, nothing exciting. Drinks were good. The best thing going that evening was mild weather/ nice view.
We had fun since we went there to see a friend of us playing on a Friday evening. The restaurant is beautiful and right on the water. The food lacked flavor and salt and my crab cakes were burnt. My husband ordered fish tacos which were ok. Burger was fine according to my dad and my mom enjoyed the avocado and burrata bruschetta. Pricey but I guess you pay for the location.
Good place to go for a drink and appetizer but not for dinner. Nice outside seating with lovely view however the food and service is fair at best
Ambience great Food typical greasy bar food. Would come back for relaxing atmosphere only. They need to offer more than greasy food. Menu very limited. Waitress very nice
Good food- nice setting and view. Music was nice also
We had a lovely meal at La Motta's, beautiful day to sit on the deck. Great service and we all loved the Caesar salad with lobster salad, great Titos bloody Marie's as well.
Generous portions of delicious food
Nice views of the marina
Waitress not the nicest of people. Older woman not too happy to be there.
Raw Oysters were good.
Baked Clams the size of a quarter sprinkled with breadcrumbs woohoo.
Linguine and Clams NG! It was more like soup. All it was was chicken broth, very little garlic if any. Mushy pasta
This place is a seafood resturant?
We had sodas with the meal and we only had 1 each at $3 per. Waitress very came to ask if we were good our wanted anything. Oh yeah I had to go to the bar to get parmesan cheese.
We reserved ahead of time, asked for an indoor table, nice view. On our way there we phoned ahead saying we were running 10min late and had 1 extra person. When we got there, on a hot humid day with the heat index over 100 we needed to wait over 10 minutes although there were no other diners. Then we were seated to a 1/2 indoor, 1/2 outdoor table. It was unbearable to stay in that space much less eat there. We tried 2 other tables, both hot, both with bad water views and the 3rd too close to a noise bar. When the heat index is over 100 degrees and someone asks for an indoor table it would be nice if you told them “indoor” means open windows, and lame air conditioning.
Beautiful restaurant on the water with live music on the weekends, the salmon that I ordered was a bit dry and tasteless, I’ve had better meals in the past. Could have been an off night.
Otherwise, great place to sit back and relax.
Ear splittingly loud. There was supposed to music but all you could hear was load voices. Service substandard. Food ok but not great. This place has so much potential. It’s a real shame
Food was average
Beautiful waterfront location!! We came on our boat and dock staff was quite helpful.
Service was friendly and helpful and food was really great. Delicious fish tacos, steamers and pasta. Perfect spot for a beautiful summer day.
Really was a lovely experience...friendly service, wonderful entrees, and not too pricey....will definitely return
