What Insiders Are Saying
Finally, someone figured out that an Italian restaurant near Penn Station that serves food people want to eat would do well.
Such a great environment. Wait staff was excellent and attentive. Food was remarkable.
Great food great waiter
Dinner with friends. Most enjoyable
Chef never disappoints. The menu is always changing, but with a few favorites always there. Watermelon salad best I ever had! The pizzas are outstanding, as are the pastas. I’ve never had a bad dish.
Food was delicious as always. Service wasn't great. Our cappuccinos arrived after we had finished our desserts. Our waiter kept disappearing and it took forever to get our check.
Good pizza. Great service
Amazing staff. Drinks are expensive but food was great and reasonable.
It was a great spot to have some wine and apps and catch up. The location is ideal for catching the train too! I love the open air concept and the food was really delicious.
Fabulous food, atmosphere, service.
Beautiful place amazing cocktails, wonderful server (wish I remembered her name) and food was sooooooo good. Best dining experience in a very long time.
The food was very good. Portions were decent. Would have likes more but left the restaurant satisfied and not stuffed, which is a good thing. It was warm at times with the doors open to the street. I am very happy our large group stumbled upon this restaurant. Would go back again.
Very loud, but overall food and service are amazing!
Excellent food and service. It was a little loud but there were outdoor tables and the doors were open.
Excellent food. Great location. The wait staff was a little slow. I would eat here again
Dined here for a quick meal before a concert at MSG. Food was delicious! We had multiple people taking care of us which was nice! Nice indoor/outdoor cute restaurant.
Service was pretty good. The ambiance was also very nice because it was a warm summer day and we sat at a table that was mostly indoors but the doors were wide open to the outside. I would never want to sit at the small tables for two that are actually on the sidewalk. Observed a homeless man hovering near a table, making the two women who were seated get up a leave. He asked if he could have something from a table-that was being cleared and the staff member gave him a glass of water, the same glass that they will use to serve their patrons after it goes through the dishwasher. Anyway, you take a chance whenever you choose to sit at an outdoor table in NYC. As far as the food, the two pasta dishes we ordered were good but very small portions. The two pizzas were overly charred at the crust, black crust, and the flavors were just okay. The wines were $16-18 a glass, and the extensive wine list is ridiculously expensive! Ended up buying an $85 Croatian Malvasia that was not even very good...and that was one of their least expensive bottles. Everything on the menu is way over priced with very small portions. You leave feeling hungry even though you spent a fortune. I won’t go back.
It took too long to get a beer and then you ran out of the beer I was drinking. The pasta dish was too salty.
We were celebrating our sons graduation from the police academy and selected your restaurant because of the close proximity to Madison Square Garden.
The food was good , but the overall service was slow.
Yes, I would return and recommend to a friend.
Second visit, and always delighted to come back . Seated immediately and food was served in a timely manner .
After we were seated we waited over an hour to get a waitress and then another 45 min to get food. They never came to ask to refill our drinks
Lovely atmosphere & all the food & wine was delicious with attentive but not pushy service. Only downside was that the bread & pizza was a bit burnt - I saw the other pizzas and they looked the same. I like a bit of char on wood fired pizza but this was definitely more than normal and detracted from the nice topping.
Just like any other NY restaurant,it’s way too loud to fully enjoy your food
Food was on point, very pricey for such small portions. Waiter was nice, but not attentive to our table, never came to see if food was prepared well or if everything was ok... had to keep asking the bus boy to grab the waiter... 1/2hr wait for a cup of ice, brought over a warm diet coke with a dirty glass of ice, guess they were offended as they took 30 mins to bring another. Still tipped the waiter 35%... In terms of seating, very tight, asked for indoor seating for our reservation as worked out doors all day and wanted some ac with dinner and was seated outdoors... manager said it was too busy at the time but no problem he would “take care of us”, offered a generous tip, but no matter. It was pride day, and they seemed very overwhelmed.
Just a wonderful brunch with a good friend. Service was quick, food delicious, and the coffee very good.
Have been here brunch and it was lovely. Late dinner not so much. Service was spotty at best.
Great vibe in the restaurant- food was excellent- cocktails were sub-par. Whoever said that cocktails were great has not had great cocktails. That said, the restaurant was great. Octopus was amazing. All the veggie side dishes were fresh and interesting. Truffle pizza was very tasty. I’d recommend the place
The food was excellent , but the service was terrible
I haven’t been to L’Amico in a year as my last my last experience was not a good one, but I was being taken to lunch so I had no choice. This experience was MUCH better than the last me. The waiter disappeared a lot, which was annoying, but hey, you are here for the food. I had the Bolognese pasta and OMG was so glad I did!! It was truly the best I ever had and I am a connoisseur of Bolognese. For this alone I will be back. Need to up the service though. For the price point you should have better servers.
The food was amazing! The server was knowledgeable and so friendly.
I felt our service was quite inattentive throughout all of lunch which was disappointing for as good as the food was.
Met friends from out of town on a lovely NY evening. The doors were open to the outside. Our waiter, Tom, was totally on spot!
Very nice vibe. Will definitely come again.
Slow and disorganized service. They lost our order and it took over an hour and us asking about our food twice for them to realize they lost our order. They were very apologetic, but a good waiter who’s on top of his tables should of noticed we’d been sitting there for an hour and nothing came out of the kitchen.
This was the best pizza we have ever had...including all
Nice place for eating outside and really good food. I will come back!
Excellent and authentic Italian food for the whole Family
Service was terrible. Sat almost 30 minutes before we met our server and ordered food. And the restaurant was not busy. We never saw our server again after that. The manager at least brought us drinks although didn’t comp them. It was 50 minutes in total before we received our food. Guy next to us had the same poor service and complained too. Food truly is exceptional though. But I wouldn’t go back here. You can find other outstanding Italian food with way better service in the city any day.
Outstanding seasonal specials
Unexpected nice outdoor dining!
Very interesting food.great taste and presentation.
