The first floor restaurant fuses New York City’s historic Italian culture with the contemporary, featuring two large copper-clad wood fire ovens. An intimate bar allows single diners to enjoy a pleasant meal, while the dining room accommodates parties of all sizes.
truffle paste, fontina, taleggio, sage
swiss chard, cremini mushrooms, meyer lemon
The food was really tasty and satisfactory, especially the brunch pizzas and lemon pancakes.
Great food and casual atmosphere!
Pizza was tasteless and hard as a rock! Even the sharp knife provided did not help. You had to saw at it. We each had a pizza so this was not just one that was a problem. It was so hard to chew and they are stingy with the cheese so its mostly inedible crust. But worse, the pizzas and my main veal chop were all utterly tasteless. Very disappointed. Also note the blood orange dessert is awful: a few crumbles of orange ice on top of an orange filled with tasteless gooey cream!
If you want great food, go! Really terrific. Service is good but a little busy. Table are. very close to each other, so no privacy whatsoever. But buzzing and busy for lunch. Seemed like a mixture of high end tourists and local higher end lunch crowd.
Amazing good comfort food; brick-oven pizza, warm salad, smoke-grilled calamari in a fun ambiance, quick service with a smile and overall solid experience. Will definitely be back!
My new favorite place for midtown/pre-MSG event! What a beautiful restaurant and ambiance, service was top notch and all class. And the food was fantastic (the grilled octopus!). My bourbon old-fashioned cocktails were perfect. Manager was hands-on, checking with each table. Just top notch on every level! My dinner companion had a neighboring table pick up his bill (in Miami weeks earlier), so when we had a nice moment with the table next to us, my buddy sought out the manager to "pay it forward" and pay for their meal. The manager commended us and said he'd pick up their dessert if they order one. That's a classy move! I'll be back there many, many times. Likely before every Ranger game and concert!
Close to MSG. Great food choices. Attentive service and very easy on the wallet.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. One of my favorite restaurants!
Amazing food and great atmosphere!! Cannot wait to go back!
Good overall. We had the Sunday brunch menu and my poached eggs over hash were bland. The burrata appetizer with truffles was excellent.
Very nice place for dinner. Little tight but you forget about it a minute in. Would definitely recommend.
A little pricey but very good food and service. Tables are very close together. I highly recommend the charred cauliflower!
A great restaurant not far from MSG and to meet friends coming into Penn Station.
Food is great and service is as well.
Have never had a bad meal here.
The waiter was very attentive to the food allergies. Our table was ready. The food is always amazing!!
The food and waiter were exceptional, but the hostess was totally incompetent. They had no idea how to manage the tables. We obviously had a reservation and when we showed up there was no table and we waited for 20 min. If we had just walked up that’s no problem, but we were confirmed with a reservation and didn’t have our seats reserved. She had no idea how to accommodate us and gave a table to non-reservation people that she oddly enough promised to us 2 min before she sat them at said table. I get it it’s crazy and a hard job to plan all that out but it was ridiculous when she tried to put us next to the kitchen door and then we settled at one next to the busboy staging table. Not angry, just disappointed
Delicious good healthy salads and great great pizza . Fire wood burning oven . Excellent choice for this neighborhood, loud and festive.
This was a great place ti have dinner with a small group of friends. the cocktails and drinks are nice and the food is really delicious and a solid mix of you normal spaghetti and meatballs Italian and more interesting Italian fare. Everything we ate was solid and the ambiance is very fun and warm. The only downside was the sometimes slow service.
Fantastic. Will be back!
Great! 10s all Around!
Excellent food. Great location close to Penn Station.
Brandon was the absolute BEST waiter. He made the best suggestions when we couldn’t decide. The food was phenomenal, as were the drinks. We showed up extremely early and were still able to be seated right away.
Every aspect was exceptional, from cocktails through appetizers to entrees. Even the simplest side dishes have subtle tweaks that elevate them to extraordinary.
The food was delicious and tasty. The price was very reasonable. The atmosphere was energized but not overwhelming. This is a truly tasty restaurant that I will definitely return to.
The food was excellent, but you had to chose carefully to get the best dishes. We had the burrata with truffles, Brussel sprout salad with hazelnut and cipolini, and mortadella and veal meatballs. Yum! All delicious. We enjoyed it a good Nero d’Avola and finished with Nonna’s chocolate cake which too was very good.
They did not have enough servers, unfortunately, so service suffered. And everything was very overpriced.
Good experience but will likely not return.
Good meal. Wish they had more reasonable bottled wine selection.
It's a very nice venue for brunch. A bit pricey but the food is good and cocktails are wonderful.
Everything you want in restaurant experience, was here!
Food and service great from start to finish. Portion sizes were more than adequate. The octopus appetizer was delicious, with ample amount of octopus, as was the sausage pasta. The server was knowledgeable about the dishes and quite attentive. We had the two flavor gelato dessert that was tasty and just the right finish. Everybody was friendly and helpful. I’d go back again
Been here before and it was much better. I know it was Valentines Day which is amateur night but they jammed many tables together within inches of each other. Money grab. And the service was terrible. Also, the supposed entertainment of a jazz band took over an hour break right in the middle of the evening. On top of all that, the limited fixed menu was significantly marked up from normal menu prices.
Always love the food, and how polite everyone is. Thanks for always providing an excellent experience.
I have been to L'Amico many times with friends and business associates. Up until this most recent visit, I have been impressed with the food and the space. This trip was very different, and therefore, worthy of note. I ordered the roast chicken entree, usually delicious. It was dry and burnt on one side. The bed of broccoli rabe upon which the chicken sat was burnt to a crisp and inedible. Coffee was served cold, but the wait staff was quick to replace it with a steaming cup. The noise level was deafening. My dinner companion seemed happy with her meal, so calling over the wait staff to complain about the food and having to shout to be heard over the noise was not worth it. I left as quickly as was seemly, vowing never to return. Shame, I had really liked it. I had filled out the comment card at the restaurant and I can only assume that management read it right away, as I received at least three frantic calls to my cell from the restaurant that night, but I was too annoyed to answer the calls. At least they take the comment cards seriously.
Perfection! Always terrific! This was probably my 10th time here, and they are amazing!
Love, love, love this place!! We shared the lasagna, it was such a delicious and differed take on the comfort food!
It was the perfect lunch place to meet and catch up with 2 longtime friends.
Appreciated that we were not rushed out.
Food was good, as expected. I have dined here before.
The food is incredible! Unique menu cool vibe, but we did not have an tentative server which affected our experience
The food and service are always excellent
The food was okay nothing special.. Good pizza and good service
Always have the best time! Thanks for the extraordinary food and service! See you soon!!!
Food was great. Service was good, but waitress did keep requesting we get more food.
After two years I visited L’Amico again. Price is not bad. Tastes good. But each table is too close so noisy a bit.
