Had a reservation and still took 20 mins to get seated and then paid $20 for the worst cocktail I’ve ever had that also took 20 mins to come out so we didn’t even stay for food and just left.
Confusing and long wait for our reservation. Some food was good but other dishes had way too much salt and/or garlic.
Went last night for a birthday dinner. Have been here a few times in the last month and while service can be spotty, food and drinks always made up for this. Unfortunately tonight was an exception.
From the beginning service was a let down. It took half an hour to get menus. Server came and took our order and never came back to check on us for rest of meal. An appetizer came out with a foreign object in it; a staff member picked it out with their fingers and then deposited the appetizer as is on our table without explanation. When our drinks finally arrived they forgot half the order; they also spilled the majority of a friend’s beer while pouring it. An hour passed between our appetizers and our entrees arriving. No one bothered to explain the delay to us during this time; additionally no one refilled our waters in this time or asked us if we needed anything else. This despite the fact that our waitperson checked in on the table next to us multiple times during this span. Spoke to the manager when entrees finally did come out. He graciously apologized and comped our round of drinks. Despite being a birthday dinner we opted to leave before being presented with dessert options. Food was good but poor service overwhelmed the experience. Know these are tough times with regards to staffing but this was exceptionally bad.
Meal was good. Server was very aggressive to the point of being uncomfortable. Noise level was high making it a challenge to talk without yelling. The half chicken with broccoli rabe was very tasty.

Excellent meal from apps to desert. Good house Cab. Gave us a table outside so noise was what you expect in NYC, but low enough to still have conversations.
This could easily have been a five-star review with great ambiance, excellent selection of wine, and delicious apps and main. They somehow lost interest for desert (mediocre) and coffee (late and cold).
So many disappointments here. First their menu says they serve fresh juices- they brought days old bottles juice from a generic brand you find in a store. Second, ordered an iced latte and after about 25 minutes they came back and said they don’t serve lattes…? But gave us cold, old tasting coffee (said it was cold brew but I promise it was not). The food was not terrible but not great. A million amazing restaurants in the city to choose from. This does not have to be it.
When you pay $18 for a glass of wine, you expect a glass of wine. Not a half of a small wineglass. The ravioli portion was so small that one of our party had to order another entree and that was in addition to the three appetizers we had already eaten. The food was ok, but considering the prices, the small portions and the fact that there are a LOT of great Italian restaurants in NYC, we won’t be going back.

We dined outside last night at a table for 6. The space was terrific- both buzzing and intimate. We ordered a variety of menu items and everything was delicious. The staff was attentive, too. We will definitely be going back - next time we want to get there early so that we can have drinks inside at the bar first then head to a table to eat afterward.
One of the worst service experiences I've encountered. Our server was inattentive for the large part, misunderstood our order/delivered the wrong thing, and on top of that was rude. The serving staff bringing out the food were abrupt and rude as well, one almost knocked a plate into my face when bringing it to the table.
I've been to this restaurant many years ago when it first opened and it was a great experience all around but this second visit was anything but.

I would definitely be back but service was not what it should have been . Hopefully we will will get a different server next time

Requested outdoor seating and hostess seated us immediately in a street side shed which had little ambiance. No candles on the table, etc and it was dark already.
Waiters brought us menus and wine sommelier was pleasant and helpful and brought our wine right away. We had to ask several times for our cocktails and waiters were difficult to locate.
Service was extremely slow. Waiters never checked on our table and it took forever to get our appetizers. Yellowtail, grilled octopus & prosciutto were good. Tuna crude completely missed the mark with a weird yogurt sauce that was so strongly flavored it overwhelmed the fish. Dinner went downhill from there. Our waiters completely disappeared and after an hour and a half we still didn’t have dinner. When our main courses finally arrived they were nothing special. Pizza which listed several cheeses with mushrooms barely tasted of cheese and crust was soggy. Pasta with clams ordinary and roasted chicken passable.
We skipped dessert since we had been sitting for too long and had had enough.
Outdoors is interesting to say the least. The food is delicious and service both efficient and friendly.
Definitely not a restaurant it used to be. They let you book the restaurant for 8:30, but they serve food till 9:00 and ask you to leave at 9:30.
The food was average. Skirt steak which used to be amazing was simply awful!

Almost every aspect of our experience at L'Amico was negative. The waiter could not answer basic questions about the menu and misinformed us in a few cases when we asked about food allergens. Both of our starters had to be returned - one included rock-hard, totally unripe peaches and the watermelon salad came out with no watermelon. The replacements were minimally better. Two of three entrees came out cold (I'm guessing no time adjustment was made to account for the delay due to the bad starters and the entrees just sat). The cauliflower side was beyond "charred." Overall, the service was poor - no water, left sitting 20 minutes with the dessert menus, etc. The meal had a fitting end when one person in the party went to use the bathroom and found all the stalls in the ladies' room so disgusting they could not be used. Really unfortunate that the management of this restaurant is so bad.

Food was delicious. We ordered (1) peekytoe crab toast, (2) prosciutto platter, (3) Long Island corn, and (4) cheese raviolini. The crab and the prosciutto were standouts.

Relaxed but sophisticated. Unique and excellently prepared dishes. Service is perfect. The wine and liqueur lists are interesting, and the maitre d’ knows both. Definitely recommend.
