The first floor restaurant fuses New York City’s historic Italian culture with the contemporary, featuring two large copper-clad wood fire ovens. An intimate bar allows single diners to enjoy a pleasant meal, while the dining room accommodates parties of all sizes.

really great service and tasty food! always a good choice when in NY
Nice venue.. good wine list
Warm enough to eat outside and it was delightful. Attentive service tasty food and good friends what more could one want?
We were seated a few minutes before our reservation, all our food come out quickly and was fresh and delicious. I'd give 5 stars but out waitress was incredibly pushy and very obviously trying to get us to order add ons or up-charges, not a fan of that at all. I'll definitely be back but hopefully seated with another member of the wait staff.
The best octopus appetizer ever. It was nice and crispy without losing the natural flavor. The pizza was really good but the knives to cut the pizza were nothing more than fancy butter knives. It was difficult to cut pizza into smaller bites.
Great food and wonderful atmosphere but very, very loud. We had to ask the waiter to repeat himself several times and then when we gave our orders, he asked us to speak up!
Stayed at the Eventi hotel and this is the restaurant located on the first floor. Out of convenience, we ended up eating there many more times than we expected. It was always excellent and the service was great! The brunch was amazing!
Food was solid, great service but the restaurant was freezing! Bring a sweater. We sat along the window and were just blasted with air. We asked our waiter if they could turn down the air so it was not blowing so much, which he said they could, but we did not notice a difference. The food was great, great wine list, but with the air conditioner blowing on us like crazy our food cooled off immediately and the experience was not enjoyable because we were so cold.
We have eaten at L'Amico a few times before and frankly it has been better than this last time. Our waitress was nice but came to the table infrequently. We think she was working to many tables. Food was okay nothing to write home about. Worst of all our entree was served while we were still eating our appetizer. That is the biggest mistake in my book a resturant can make. They tried serving our entree's earlier but saw that I had not quite finished my appetizer, waited about 5 minutes and brought them out. Noisey place so be prepared to speak loudly. Couple next to us got into a heated disscussion, and after they left two gentelmen were seated. They were very nice and obviously one of them knew the staff, manager and others that run the place. The wait staff fawned over them to the point that we did not get our bill for almost 30 minutes after we had completely finshed our meal, and wine choice. At one point when another wait staff came over to them, the very nice gentelmen said to them that we had not been waited on and we told him we had and that we were waiting to pay. It was at that point the the young lady brought us our bill. So as you can see overall experience not so good.
Great food, horrible service.
Food was fabulous
Our waitress and manager were extremely attentive!
Fun for lunch with out of town friends
Very nice menu, great variety, loads of flavor. Shout out for the steak EGGPLANT CAPONATA BRUSCHETTA, ZUCCHINI (pecorino, lemon, mint, basil, toasted almonds), 7 PEPPERCORN CRUSTED SKIRT STEAK ( focaccia panzanella, gorgonzola piccante) and the side dish of long island corn, calabrian chili aioli, ricotta salata.
Bartenders were knowledgeable and efficient.
Waiters were also knowledgeable.
Interesting cocktails. Especially enjoyed the UN FIZZ ITALIANO (Montenegro Amaro, lemon, lime, prosecco).
We were visiting NYC and had walked by L’Amico several times and finally got a reservation. It lived up to all its expectations. The octopus was phenomenal and the scallops were simply amazing. Definitely a highlight to our trip!
Over priced, waiter never checked on us, over charged by manager adding a dessert we did not order, food was burnt. Will not go again or recommend.
L’Amico has a great ambience and atmosphere.
The walls open up to the outdoor seating so I recommend eating inside as you will still get the feel of being outside. My friends and I ate here before the BJ concert Aug 28. I had the pasta with sausage which was delicious although a little too al dente for my preference. My friends both ordered the pizza with fig and prosciutto which they did not like, said it was sweet. We each had a drink and with tip it was $150. The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 4 is the fact they didn’t like the pizza and it is a little pricey for what it is. Very noisy but not so much that you can’t have a conversation. I would recommend you give it a try!
With my sweetie in NYC, going to a show and wanted a nice dinner. The welcoming staff were good but did not ask if we wanted to sit near the sidewalk or somewhere more intimate. They sat us one row of tables from the sidewalk.
The service was great, attentive but not overbearing. We had a small white mushroom pizza as an appetizer. It was crispy and tasty.
They then sat another couple right next to our table, about a foot from our table. There were many open tables (pardon the pun) available. Why?
We had a scallop dish and a Bronzino dish. The presentation of both was very good. The scallops were served skewered and were delicious. The fish was served whole, cleaned and headless. It was cooked to perfection, moist and flavorful.
All was going well until I noticed hair on the fish plate. The server apologized. A manager came over and apologized. They took the meal off the bill. Part of the kitchen is open to view. Not a hairnet in sight :-(
It began to rain. The row of tables along the sidewalk got wet because the overhang leaked. The staff relocated their tables, putting one about six inches from the other side of our table. We were now sandwiched in and all pretense of a romantic dinner was swept away :-(
We declined dessert given these circumstances.
Our server was overwhelmingly busy but the manager stepped in for the night and provided us with excellent service. How commendable.
My second time this week. Last time I have the PIPE RIGATE, veal shoulder bolognese, parmesan which is some of the best I ever had anywhere. Yesterday I had the Skirt steak. Overpriced but Delicious. The veggies were too mushy, I would have preferred them to be grilled. Derice on Tuesday was blah, but Yesterday was great (different waiter). Definitely returning especially since it is 2 blocks from the office and a great place to take clients.
Good place to eat by Penn Station area. Outdoor seating available. Food and service was good.
Superb. As always. This is my happy place in NYC.
Amazing, Pizza, Pasta & creative drinks! Love this place!
Great food, service, ambiance and location. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food and atmosphere. Met with a friend I hadn’t seen in 27 years and it was amazing. Wonderful restaurant.
I was shocked at the entree which was very tiny, and the scallops appeared to be cut in half, to appear like a larger number. I know scallops are always quite expensive and these were very good, as was all the food we had. But I'd rather have them whole and fewer - something to really savor and sink your teeth into. There was almost nothing else on the plate with the scallops.
I do want to emphasize, however that he service was very good, and the food was delicious. The wine was outstanding.
The food and ambiance were excellent; however, we tried calling in to confirm our reservation but we were either hung up on, transferred, or no one ever answered.
Knives didn’t cut well and i didn’t like that they didn’t give me a plate.
The food was ok, but the service was excellent. I got the lobster pasta and I think it was $34 or $38, the portion was so small, it was definitely over-priced and not worth it. The ambience was good, but it was definitely noisy while having dinner. Overall, I will probably not go back again, unless I'm ordering pizza.
Nice outdoor feel. Food is good as is the service. I recommend the scallops and the octopus appetizer.
Food was a bit bland although it looked good on the plate.
love the open air concept, but with the summer heat it was too warm! Pacing of the meal was completely off - kitchen was not on point. Food was very good, waiter trying hard, but over matched. Perhaps the spot on a quiet, fall morning - not summer rush.
Fantastic place every dish done to perfection in taste service and presentation. Price is well inline with quality and portion size for a nyc restaurant.
It can be s bit noisy at times due to the popularity of the place . We went and s Thursday evening it was packed open to close.
Reservations are a must or you will never get in
Servers were rude, made me wait for my whole group
Bad service rating is due to hostess experience. Ignoring the guests, interrupting guests to talk to each other is shockingly rude. There may also be a kinder way to speak to your guest that to say, you’re early (10 minutes), we’ll seat yoU after your reservation time.
The waitstaff were fine and could not overcome negative initial experience with all three hostesses.
Excellent as usual. The chef is superb with a talent for making dishes that surprise as well as taste good. The wine list is also excellent and filled with some very good wines at very reasonable prices. The sommelier is very knowledgable and helpful. The staff is attentive, friendly and discreet. I always eat well and have a good time at L'Amico and the price point cannot be beat. The vibe is lively and it can get crowded so get your reservation in and don't complain if you have to wait a bit for your table. You won't be disappointed.
Great food, a bit pricey but consistent in quality. Nice ambiance. Service was okay. Busy!
This is the second time I’ve visited this restaurant. I really enjoyed it the first time so I took my adult son for dinner before a show. Our reservation was for 5:00pm. We arrived at 4:56pm. When we attempted to check in we were told they were not open for dinner until 5:00p. We waited near the desk and saw another couple get seated before us. I reapproached after 5:00p and we were asked if we wanted outside. I said yes. They seated my son and I in a far corner wedged behind a table of 5 that were there for drinks. The other table was loud and continued to add more drinkers to the point we had trouble getting out. There were many other tables on the other end of the outdoor tables that were open. Maybe we didn’t look hip enough. We were dressed nice for the show so who knows? The waiter then ignored us as he was busy bringing more drinks to other table. I finally flagged him down and gave our drink and dinner order. Our food came out cold and no refills. We were ignored a lot. I was so disappointed. I won’t eat there again.
Très bonne adresse ! Cadre et cuisine de très bon niveau. De bons aliments ! Bravo !
