What Insiders Are Saying
Finally, someone figured out that an Italian restaurant near Penn Station that serves food people want to eat would do well.
Easter brunch! It was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Our waiter was also very kind and helpful! Definitely will be back
We had an excellent eggplant crostini with mozzarella, and shared a lamb pasta, lamb tenderloin salad and salsiccia pizza. Which were all excellent. I also enjoyed my banana baba..However my daughter's gelato was tasteless and we couldn't finish it. The waitress was attentive and knowledgable, also very allergen aware. Overall a good meal and good service, but dont get the gelato.
Food was fabulous! Server was great. Only draw back was the drink prices were outrageously expensive. But, I would go back since the food was so good!
There was a lot of noise. Too much. You could hardly talk.
This place is such a solid standard for nyc dining. Great staff, consistently good food, and reasonable prices. I go back repeatedly for a central location convenient when meeting with people coming from all directions and the food that’s always on point.
All the food was as good as expected as we eat here frequently. The mushroom pizza was superb! He Blackened Scallops and Skirt Steak were delicious and the deserts were also fantastic!
This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in NYC! Consistent food, service and vibe. It's always amazing. Keep up the good work.
Very good food and good service in a bright but somewhat noisy setting. I've been there many times and will go back many more.
L'Amico is always a great meal! Our waitress was lovely and i'm sure this wasn't her fault but we felt VERY rushed towards the end of our lunch. We ordered coffee and she dropped the check and came over 3 times to see if we put a card in there yet.. and we werent even almost done with coffee! Won't stop me from coming back, but there were open tables and it's not a great feeling to get rushed out when spending that kind of money at lunch.
LOVED LOVED EVERYTHING!! FOOD, AMBIANCE, SERVICE, STAFF ATTENTION TO DETAIL ETC. LOVE THIS PLACE . WILL KEEP COMING BACK AND BRINGING MORE FRIENDS & FAMILY.
CHEF FLORIAN IS THE BEST!!!
Our waitress Lisa was one of the best that we have ever had at a restaurant
One of my favorite restaurants in NY! Consistently great! Unique food pairings, great cocktails! Great for sharing!
The food and service were great! We had a glass of the orange wine, which is not common and very good!
The noise level was off the hook way too loud. Hard to hear the other people I was with
Sat outside for brunch and it was very nice. Food was delicious and the service was great.
Food and service was fantastic. Tables very close together. Very loud. Difficult to have A conversation.
Wonderful food and perfect location. Service was great. It is just a bit too load for people to talk with one another. Perhaps carpeting or drapes to deaden sound.
Great food, great service....never been disappointed!
Enjoyed an incredible lunch. Menu had so many delicious options we struggled to narrow down our order.
I like the food a lot. I ordered the soppressata pie and had it many times but there was a spice Thyme added which is a strong flavor and although I was able to pick it off, just wanted you to know.
Went for my Birthday lunch with my son. We both work close by. Great lunch place. A little pricey for lunch...
Our waitress was wonderful and the food was amazing! Great cocktails too. Will definitely return!
Reserved a table at L'Amico just to have a brunch with pancakes. The brunch was till 3:00 PM and they ran out of pancakes at 1:30 PM. Very disappointing, evermore when the waiter tells you that there will not be any pancakes today and you see that the guest who just sat down a table next to you orders a pancake a short half hour later. If we knew we could have waited for a while since we especially came for the pancakes.
Not a great experience at brunch. Service was very friendly, but incompetent. Took over 20 minutes after being seated to get some coffee. Lukewarm coffee at that. Another 40 minutes until our food arrived. Good was just ok. My friends didn’t like theirs egg dishes, especially when your paying $24 for an omelette. My salad with salmon was tasty. Not sure we’ll be back anytime soon.
Awesome service, beautiful atmosphere and great food. I really loved that they took customization of orders. Can`t wait to go again.
Great location, great ambiance, delicious food, good service. I’ll go back!
Food is consistently very good. Some pasta dishes have a little too much salt. Service is professional. Atmosphere is always great. Always crowded.
Love this restaurant. Food is fresh and creative. Are here twice during my stay.
Would be great if they had more options that didn’t have pork! More veggies too!
Everything was great besides it being pretty loud. The food was amazing except for a piece of wood that was found by my cousin in his pasta. They recognised this and offered us dessert on the house which was very nice of them.
On spring break with the family. Great restaurant and service. Would come back again next time in NYC.
Great place with great food. Only complaint - they make you wait until your entire party arrives before they seat you. Maybe you might order an extra app or drink while you are waiting?
We have eaten at L'Amico a number of times for brunch and for dinner. We are never disappointment at the quality of food, menu selections and presentation. This weekend the waffle special for brunch was amazing! I would definitely recommend L'Amico to anyone even picky eaters!
With the restaurant only 10% full at 5:40, the hostess wanted me to sit at the bar until my guest arrived and was resistant to letting me wait at the table although she reluctantly conceded.
Great dining spot but I will say no where to wait in the space you are literally in everyone way unless you go to the hotel next door which I didn’t wish to do. Also bar very small and packed so very difficult to get a drink while waiting. Suggest a host help get bartenders attention for waiting guests drinks.
We had such a fabulous experience at this restaurant. The ambience was great and we had a fantastic and attentive server who really helped guide us through the menu. Our food and drinks were delicious. We cannot wait to return. Save room for dessert!
“Date” with my teenage daughter. The food was excellent, every bite of it, from the salad to the sides (the roasted cauliflower was inspired and the branzino in a light cream sauce was surprisingly delicate) right down to the two generous scoops of gelato at the end. The only detraction was that our table for two was very close to our neighbors’ and, while the lighting was great and the open kitchen created a bustling but not over-bright ambience, some of the tables were definitely cozier than others. The bathroom (hotel bathroom) decor was...unsettling: a floor to ceiling glass cabinet displaying about 60 white plaster hands in different “poses”. Art?
Great service and excellent food. We went back the next day for brunch.
Such a great restaurant! a tolerable noise level--so important to our age group. Great food and an amiable waiter. We loved the appetizers and one of the pizzas we ordered especially. The assistant who took part of our order made some mistakes and didn't bring us our extra pizza to take home, though. If they're going to take orders then be sure to get staff who can speak enough English for the job. Our main criticism: the prices for wine by the glass were very high for a "regular' NY restaurant, starting at $15.00, with beers starting at $10.00. I'm not sure what the rationale for this is but it kept us from ordering wine with our meal, a downer. I didn't look to see if the wines were special ones, but many people would be satisfied with an ordinary house wine at $10.00 a glass in NY ($8.00 or less in many perfectly good US cities).
Came here on a triple date night and it was great. The aesthetics were really cute, the food was delicious, and it was overall just a great dinner date night.
