The first floor restaurant fuses New York City’s historic Italian culture with the contemporary, featuring two large copper-clad wood fire ovens. An intimate bar allows single diners to enjoy a pleasant meal, while the dining room accommodates parties of all sizes.

What Insiders Are Saying
Finally, someone figured out that an Italian restaurant near Penn Station that serves food people want to eat would do well.
Pleasantly surprised by the food and the ambience. A great value. Good for hanging out with friends.
I adore L'Amico! Everything about it: food, wine and above all, the wonderful service! Love, love love it!
Food was too Salty and spicy. Drinks were fine. Waiter polite and kind.
Went here before the Pink! Concert with 6 girls and had the best food and service. Would highly recommend this place. Gorgeous decor and atmosphere
Stayed at the Eventi so it was extremely convenient. Definitely a great place for locals.
The decor is upbeat and beautiful. I loved the indoor/outdoor street side dining. The food was excellent, although I thought a bit over priced because the portions were small to medium. Our server also seemed to be in training because she had to get another server/supervisor several times to answer questions. All in all, we loved it and would come back again.
Not outstanding, but pleasant. Outdoor dining a plus.
I really appreciated the staff's attention to detail. The windows were open since it was early evening but they noticed when it got colder and offered to move our table inside so they could shut the door. They realized it may be an inconvenience to us, so they gave us a free side dish. Our only complaint would be that one of our dishes wasn't what we expected -- but everything else was on point. I would dine here again.
I liked this place before and brought my family here hoping for a nice early dinner. Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience. Pasta was blend, bread and pizza burnt and scallops burnt on one side and almost raw on the other. My out if state 80 yr old father in law left a smaller tip than New York restaurant would expect ( ~13%). The manager came to us and made a scene demanding 22% as per suggestion on the receipt. He spoiled our Saturday evening and we paid a lot for the meal we didn’t enjoy at all.
Went on a Saturday around 1:30 for brunch with my husband and mother. The brunch menu is amazing- food is great and so fresh. Service is great as well. So attentive but not overly. It’s also not outrageously priced. Highly recommend. The one small complaint I have is that it was very hot inside the restaurant. Other than that, amazing.
Dinner was absolutely delicious! The service was very attentive!!
One of my favorite Italian spots in the city!
Great date night. The service was a bit slow, but we didn’t mind because the food more than made up for it and we were in no hurry!
Really great food, wonderful service and inviting outdoor atmosphere. The only downside is that it is noisy at peak hours. But somehow, you don’t seem to mind it.
Worst service ever and way overpriced. Not a great place for small children
A terrific restaurant. Atmosphere is casual, food is wonderful (not haute cuisine) and service is unbelievable. Our guest was quite late for our reservation, caught in traffic in the Lincoln tunnel, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Highly recommend !
Was here for a birthday. Had a reservation but waited awhile for our table. The manager made it up to us by giving us a glass of champagne but it was a long wait. Waitress was great and food.
Food was excellent! Very fresh. The prosciutto pizza and the branzino were amazing. So was the roast chicken. The menu could be bigger. Pricier than I had expected. I will definitely come back.
Perfect place with a high-quality food
The service was quite good but too much repeated questions about how things were
We have had to ask several times for something like bread for example. Before having them.
À little noisy
Very well decorated
Going to The Who concert
Lorie was a great server!
The Tuscan salad was very light and I loved the lemon/peppery taste.
The pasta veal bolognese was fab and quite a bowl full.
Garlic bread was good but I didn’t know I was to be charged separately.
The lemon/strawberry cake/lemon sorbet garnish was light and right size...a great finish to a meal.
I recommend and will go back!
It was absolutely delicious! I had never had brunch here before only dinner, but I will definitely come back to do brunch again!
Great place. Warm, friendly and engaged service. Light meal but everything was delicious and all six of us were happy and impressed. Will definitely return.
Best Pizza in town! Expensive but worth it ! Cant wait to go back.
My boyfriend and I came here for brunch twice and agreed that it’s a solid brunch. I opted eggs every time but I felt they lacked flavor. Also, I had a small bite of the burger, and to my surprise, there’s no cheese or any topping but just a patty. The pancake was excellent tho, which I would recommend.
I showed up on time for my reservation and checked in but one of my guests arrived late. I asked if we could be seated although one person wasn’t there and the manager said no the full party needs to be there to seat the table although the restaurant was less than half full. My guest arrived approx 30 min later and I informed the manager that we were all here. He said since it was 30 min later he gave our table away and we would have to wait for and additional 30 minutes until a table was available. As I glanced around the restaurant there were still at least a half a dozen tables empty. When I asked him about that he said sorry they are reserved. Needless to say our business. Isn’t important to them so we left.
I had a reservation for 5:00 for 3 and my friend ended up arriving an hour late. There was no pressure from the staff for us to hurry up and order. They pretty much left us alone. After 4 hours at the restaurant, we were politely told that our table was needed. Totally understandable. Besides having great food, the restaurant was top notch. I would come back and highly recommend this place. Great great service!
Been a few times when visiting New York and food has been very consistent. Would definitely recommend.
It was so noisy that it was impossible to have a conversation. Service started out well, but then became sloppy and chaotic and the ratio of servers to waitstaff was seriously off. Servers were tasked with handling too many tables to be able to serve anyone well. While the food was quite good, the overall experience felt like they just wanted to get you in and out as quickly as possible so they could turn over the maximum number of tables. After dinner we were not asked if we wanted dessert or anything else and the check was unceremoniously dropped off. Then it took another 20 minutes for our credit card to be processed and returned. The decibel level was so high over the course of dinner, we just wanted out of there. Overall it was unpleasant at best.
Great venue, easy access and excellent environment.
I've brought a lot of business to L'Amico, from a business to a personal perspective, and have always been very satisfied. This one time, Wed 5/8 645p, I had a negative experience. From the host telling us we had to wait for a table if we wanted good service to a condescending waitress to waiting for our food for 45 mins without an explanation. Not sure ill return anytime soon.
Yes most definitely. The food was gray and staff were wonderful very attentive
Just ok. Too noisy for a nice dinner with friends. Tables packed together. I’d rather eat somewhere else.
Always a go to for great service, atnoshpere and delicious food. Chef Laurent really delivers.
The service from the minute we arrived until the moment we left was outstanding. The entire staff were pleasant and on top of their game. The appetizer that we ordered were great and just enough for our party of four. The entree's were all good. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
Very good food.
It needs better coordination between first and second course. As main course arrived we hand not finished our first course. Manager as well as waiter were very apologetic and invited us to have deserts "on the house".
We will be back to L'Amico.
Runners need better training.
Poached eggs with Hollandaise over shredded potatoes were superb. “Our Bread” is also worth ordering but as a dessert and with 4 people. Terrific coffee. Service was attentive and welcoming.
Service was a little slow.
Everything was delicious! The place is well designed and employees are very nice. Recommended!
Was there for brunch. Dinner looks worthy and interesting as well.
