Loved this restaurant
Will be back to try more dishes
Enjoyed the food
Great food and ambience. Wish they had a full bar but the food far outweighs that
Noisy because of several parties, but it was Saturday night. Usually much quieter. Food very good as usual. This is a hidden gem in Alphabet city. Very pleasant and attentive staff.
Everything was absolutely outstanding!!! Service was great and the food was outstanding!!!
Horrible service. Treated us like they wanted us out from the second we got there.
Wine was awful and felt like the bottle had been open for weeks, even on the second glass. Calamari was so fried you couldn’t barely taste the octopus.
This place is absolutely stunning! The decor is hands down amazing and makes the experience! The service was excellent SND the food was so fresh and good! Ink linguine with crab meat was out of this world! Highly recommend this place
Met a friend here and had a great time! Beautiful place and even better food!!!
Food was good but definitely a bit lighter on the flavor than I would have liked. Cocktails and server were amazing!
This restaurant is an absolute gem! From the ambiance to the decor & the service was beyond perfect!
I wasn’t too crazy about the risotto, the taste was definitely acquired but everything else made up for meal. I wouldn’t hesitate to return!
Loved our experience at Lamias, like stepping into a underwater dream right off of the street. Beautiful decor and lovely service, not intrusive not stuffy just wonderful. We only had an appetizer so far, the crab cake but it was delicious. Happy hour is a deal! We’ll be back for more. Thanks!
I had an amazing brunch today the food was outstanding the service was top notch… if your looking for an amazing time go here… decor out of the sea like literally‼️‼️‼️
Hosted my birthday dinner here with an intimate group, 8 ladies. The food was on point, everything was delicious. The only note I can make on that, is good temp, some dishes weren’t very hot. However, so delicious and well balanced that the temp is easy to overlook. The ambiance is what drew me here in the first place, no stone left u turned. All the space has something to offer. A solo beautiful and a pleasure to enjoy. Now the service, I am being fair when I say the service was fair. I realize the staff work hard, it’s possible they are understaffed. Often times an order was missed we had to keep asking about it, some things never came, or arrived way passed they are intended to be enjoyed. Drinks took a long time & the same with follow ups. I was quite disappointed they ran out of soap for bubbles. A minor detail but I saw it online and so much looked forward to that when it came time for my happy birthday moment. How do you run out of soap? With that said, I would still love to come back and enjoy the food and ambiance. Service is tolerable, frustrating but manageable.
Loved the decor and ambience. It was decorated beautifully! The food was just average though. But as long as you’re going there mostly for the decor, you’ll still enjoy it. Drinks were delicious.
Not one, but two rats spotted in the restaurant while we were eating. I then heard the manager or owner (not sure who she was) say to the staff “I don’t give a F*** if there’s rats over there. I have a full house and there’s poison under that table. Sit it.” The entire meal I was just looking around to see if there were any other rats. Super disappointed.
Service sucked and there were out of everything. Also they are beer & wine only
Great food and amazing experience!
Don’t go off the OpenTable menu, Lamia doesn’t have oyster shooters (which they easily could have made us) or squid ink pasta with Sea urchin... anymore. We ordered the lobster tostada as an app - which was definitely crab, not lobster. The “chefs special” shrimp risotto was REALLY bad. BUT the squid ink pasta with crab was really good… could have done without the celery in it. Lastly, the waitress didn’t know about the drinks, and told us the sake was unfiltered, which was clearly not the case. Atmosphere was great, but won’t be back.
Waited 20 min
Ordered drinks ,
Nobody ever came back so we rolled out !
Great food and beautiful venue.
I was worried based on prior reviews. Menu was different from the one viewed online. Some staffers were “absent minded”. The shrimp in the risotto special was gummy. But the saving grace was the scallops and grilled octopus. We had a great waiter.
Wonderful experience! The atmosphere, food and above all staff.
The decor is cool and the staff is friendly and accommd was good - the Dorado, the Brussels Sprouts side - most of it was mediocre to poor. The creme brulee was very badly made (and that's not a hard dish to make), the lobster was over-grilled, the bass was so-so, and the crab cake app was haute-cuisine-style teensy, but not haute-cuisine-level quality to warrant that size and price. The nutella panini was simply bad - chewy instead of crispy, and weirdly, the brownie was so light it was almost tasteless. Sorry to say that none of us at the table would ever go back.
I have visited this place second time. Its just amazing perfect for date night. So beautiful and food is amazing and service is amazing as well definitely will be going back ❤️🎉
The ambiance is so lovely, the service was fine, but the food isn't great. I had the prawns which were 3 on the plate but was priced at $18. While I typically have no issue with the cost of food, this seemed outrageous. I also ordered the grilled fish and it had no flavor at all. I had to ask for salt and pepper to give it some sort of taste. Unfortunately, I won't go back.
Lamia's Fish Market is an amazing place for a meal. Each room is impeccably decorated - the under-the-sea theme is gorgeous - and the staff is super friendly. The food was very good as well, of course, but we were most impressed by the ambiance and design. I'll definitely be back.
Excellent food and service. We wanted the whole menu- pristine oysters! darling server too. Will return.
Food was really good. Service started a little slow but overall was a great experience. Will be going back for sure
The restaurant was cold and smell like wry strong cleaning fluids.
Took a long time to get service.
El menú es corto y muy común, y la verdad nada especial
Amazing service, food was delicious and great ambiance
Second time dining here after what was a great first experience last year. Great decor and vibe. Unfortunately the service and food this time were appalling. It was clear the managers and staff were more interested in taking care of a party of 10 in a private dining room than the rest of the restaurant. Order for mains placed with sever at 7:30pm. Only arrived at our table at 9:05pm. For the 45 minutes before that, we kept on being told our order was 5 minutes out or next to be served. Granted, one of the managers did apologise and sever us a Caesar salad to pass the time. Blackened shrimp arrived cold (and definitely nothing like the menu description- bland, baked shrimp). Tuna entree was also cold. One of our party had to leave at 9:20pm so there was no point in sending the food back because it probably would have taken another hour to prepare. Three of us not feeling well this morning. Sadly, will not be returning to Lamia’s.
There was plastic in my food, then when they replaced my dish they still charged me for it
We had a wonderful experience. Fun lovely setting. Loved the staff. Those of us who ordered the whole bronzino (grilled) were very pleased. The shrimp on my risotto was overcooked, and one of us was disappointed with her pasta dish. Salad and flatbread were good. Overall, no regrets. It's a fun place for a celebration.
The hostess the food was poorly under seasoned I had to request salt for all courses of my meal and observed other tables doing the same! We were literally sharing the salt mill as there was only 1 upstairs. It was hard not to notice everyone else requesting salt too. I had the tuna tartar, calamari (cut way to thick), and the bass for two which was a humongous fish. After a bit of salt all were good and more than edible except for the calamari. I really wanted to try this location for brunch on the morning but I think I’ll pass. Never-the-less still a cute spot.
The decor is wonderful creating a perfect ambiance. Celebrated my husband’s birthday and it was great!
Dinner was lovely and the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommended.
