Oysters + Lobster Tostadas + Tuna Tartar
3 Oysters & House Crudo
Lamia's was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious (get the mac and cheese!), the decor was beautiful, the music was excellent, and the servers were kind and thoughtful. I would absolutely come back!! The only two factors that prevented a 5-star rating were: 1) the wait for the food (we arrived at the top of their opening hour and waited a little more than 1 hour for any food, including appetizers) 2) the jam-packed seating arrangement. Due to Covid, restaurants should not be seating at 100 percent, but rather than spacing out guests, Lamia's had everyone packed together in one section of the restaurant (less than 6 feet apart, no masks), which gave the effect of a full restaurant. Aside from that, I'd highly recommend it!
The pictures make this place look WAY nicer than it is. The service was pretty bad, but the food was decent. The short ribs were really good. The seafood items didn't feel as fresh to be honest. Would not go back...
Great food and kind and serviceble staff. Beautiful decor. Wish there were some complimentary bread given while waiting for food but thats not a standard for all restaurants. Loved the upscale yet hip and warm vibe the restaurant has. The food is really delicious and the staff was very apologetic and accomadating when an order had to be sent back and be replaced. For a restaurant operating in the age of the pandemic, I would say Lamias is doing a wonderful job maintaining a lively spirit and the food was so good I wish it had lasted forever. I would definately go back for their brunch one weekend soon.
The food was flavorful and tasty. The staff was friendly.
Really great experience
Awesome food! The waitress was very polite and attentive.
Will be back!
Everything from food to service was great! Very friendly staff
Oysters are must have at this place! So fresh!
Went for Valentine’s Day dinner. Server never followed up on a request that she said she would find out for us and left us at our table for 45 minutes without refilling our water or asking if we wanted another drink.
The Red Snapper was mediocre and tasted a bit fishy rather than fresh. The oysters and appetizers were good but the entree and service ruined it for us.
My boyfriend and I made reservations for Valentine’s Day. The hostess allowed us to pick from two tables, one was near the main hallway intersection and the other was the second table from the end. I chose the one further away to avoid noise and being around a heavy traffic area; but I made the wrong choice. It was so cold the whole time, the girl sitting at the table next to me had her jacket on the entire dinner. I think maybe the insulation on the window and door next to us wasn’t good. Our server was nice but I think they were short staffed because she seemed stressed trying to help every single table. The food was good, I didn’t find the shrimp appetizer that great. It was cooked perfectly but the sauce was mediocre and hardly spicy or garlicky. The portion for the raw bar appetizers were tiny for two people. The entrees also got cold very quick, probably because it was so cold. It was overall very average. I personally wish they didn’t have a pre-fix menu even though I know it’s common for restaurants to do this for holidays to make service easier on the kitchen. There were a lot of items on the regular menu I think I would’ve enjoyed, but I’m not sure if it would be worth a trip back for the very average experience.
Valentines Day dinner was absolute mess, just thank God my partner and I exhausted patience as we were anticipating an nice intimate evening to indulge. First off we had indoor seating and the restaurant was freezing cold, many of the guest sat eating in their coats and servers also attending with coats on. We initially advised our waitress that it was really cold and she rudely disregarded our uncomfort by telling us to drink some wine . Next issue that was disappointing that the there is only wine and beer, I was looking forward to having a few cocktails so that was a bummer, I feel like that info needs to be highlighted boldly especially because there was a nicely sized bar. Although the waitress says only a beer and wine I noticed a cocktail like drink on a table and asked what it was she then advised they had a sangria, I opted to have that which was garnished with ice and flavorless. We only had the appetizers from the cold bar it was so uncomfortable we decided to take our food to go. The manager did come to try to accommodate us by moving our seat but it wouldn’t have made a difference as they just turned the heat on when we asked they restaurant wasn’t prepared to accommodate in door dining. We decided to take a few pics in an empty area and just leave to enjoy our food at home, while taking pics the host also came over to us to advise us that we couldn’t stand that it was illegal so we just quickly opted to get out of there and go home. I noticed in the bill they didn’t fully charge us which was fair but overall I wouldn’t return as honestly they did not feel the need to turn on the heat and kept using the excuse of the doors are opening and closing so the heat won’t stay in. It was straight BS as we weren’t near the entry and when we left individuals that had outdoor seating as heat lamps comfortably seated no coats on and patrons in side coats on cuddled up to keep warm. I understand they want to save money but it’s winter in NYC.
We came here for Valentines Day and were very disappointed. Good was okay. Every dish was missing the right spice. Like tuna tar tar was missing taste and was so plain. They don’t offer good water still
Or sprarkling. Restaurant doesn’t have liquor and the wine they offer is whatever.
There are so many good wines and they the average one the menu.
Staff is very nice and friendly, but place is so so.
Would never come again.
The food was okay, nothing special, not bad though. But the service was very bad. We waited 45 minutes to be seated and to order. Each time a waiter would come over to the table (they barely did) they would tell us to wait for another waiter.. The food took so much time to come and was too expensive for what it was.
The outdoor dining was not as spectacular. It heaters were down and it was extremely cold with not enough spacing between tables. The service was sufficient since were currently in a pandemic. The food was amazing.
Didnt have oysters on vday weekend. Didnt realize reservation was for outdoors and i picked spot near door erroneously, super wind chill. Ordered jalepeño marg, tasted watered down. Date had a beer. Turned off by no oysters and only ordered grilled octupus appetizer which had a great pesto like sauce with it. Left quickly, hostess wasnt really friendly. Waitress was ok.
We were here to celebrate birthday but the food, service, and the dinning experience was not pleasant. Club soda was served under the name of branded drinks such as Sprite and coke. I wish they had told us that they were out of stock.
Parking is horrible in this area. Beware.
Amazing brunch w my sister I had been traveling .....great start to my night. Thank you!
The food was good. Since it was outdoor seating it was very cold, could’ve did a better job keeping the door closed.
The place was decorated beautifully, a great date spot. Food came fast and was presented nicely. Drinks were delicious as well. The mermaid sangria was great. Will be back.
Such a great brush for a time during Covid.
My experience was absolutely AMAZING! The food was outstanding! I suggest getting the squid ink linguini with crab meat. BEST IVE EVER HAD. The service was also amazing! Drinks were also incredible.
everything was great. we work in the service industry and understand tables needing to turn over, but after only 2 hours of us continuously eating & drinking and getting told twice back to back we need to hurry up was a bit uncomfortable
This is my favorite spot in the city.
Food is amazing, great service and atmosphere.
Our server Olga was very attentive and nice.
It was my third time visiting and definitely not the last one.
Good food, great vibe. I had So much fun with my friends and the service was amazing.
Went here with a few friends and the bottomless brunch was worth the value.
Amazing! The outdoor experience is just as cool as the indoor and brunch is so good
Would go back!
The food and service were great, excellent heaters outside so very nice!
Don’t have the salmon
We had a family dinner. Great service and the food was excellent 😃
New favorite! Will be back to try for brunch when indoor dining returns since it’s really about the aesthetic (but the food and price are pretty amazing as well).
Amazing team super welcoming and friendly! Would definitely recommend.
The ambiance and the impeccably fresh food is everything you're looking for on a Friday night out. Get the grilled octopus to start!
The seafood carbonara was to die for. I can't stop thinking about it
Had been meaning to try this place for over a year. While we still had indoor dining options, we went inside and had a grand time. Note, I prefer outdoor dining amidst covid and they have done a great job with a 3 sided (but not enclosed - like some others have done) outdoor space with REAL chairs and REAL heat lamps. So inside or outside you will be comfortable. All the food was vibrant, fresh and beautifully plated. And the space is so well decorated inside- its nautical without being too twee and sexy w/o being too serious. Its like a the Boston Aquarium meets an East Village tattoo parlour. Everyone who has tried it has raved about it. Lets help them stay open in 2021 and beyond (I think they just opened in 2019).
This is a hidden gem in NYC. From the food, to the service, to the décor, every aspect of this restaurant is fantastic. Highly recommend !
Beautiful place , food was just amazing !!!
Ambiance was great for a crowd, or intimate catch up session with friends. Brunch menu was versatile and interesting. Drinks were delicious. Service was continual, and great. Will be back.
Normally one of my favorite places to visit. I’d been 5-6 times in the previous 2 months. I’m chalking it up to an off-night. It was the day before Thanksgiving so maybe they were distracted.
Food was amazing! Ambiance was stunning - service was top notch. Could not have asked for a better dining experience
