   Our lunch in the birdcage was excellent! The service was very friendly and helpful with wine selection, the ambience was lovely and the food was amazing. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

   First visit and really enjoyed the restaurant level of dining and service. Our server Maia, was great and understood my coeliac needs well.

   Was hoping to enjoy a great Melbourne gastro pub, but despite very good food the overall dining experience was a big disappointment due to being sat in the outside kerbside shelter. This space lacked any atmosphere and bore no resemblance to a pleasant dining area or even a mediocre cafe. No attempt to make it feeling inviting was evident. I had booked in advance and there was no indication that the main dining room was unavailable. I have no doubt that an evening in the main dining room would be a very pleasant experience, but avoid the outside shelter if you’re seeking a good dining experience.

   Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback Murray. I’m sorry to hear your experience didn’t meet expectations. When you booked, the system would have shown the available seating options, and as it was a late booking for a Saturday night, the Birdcage was the only area remaining. It’s actually one of my favourite spaces, with the outdoor setting and fairy lights creating a relaxed atmosphere - but I completely understand it’s not for everyone, especially if you were hoping for the energy of our main dining room.    Food and service was great as always, but we were seated near a staff work area and someone thought it was a great time to clear rubbish away. He was constantly walking past in a limited space while we were eating with boxes and bottles through the restaurant. Thought this task might take place before service?

   Delicious lunch in a fabulous location - excellent service. I enjoyed the veal which was the most delicious veal schnitzel I have ever eaten! Have been wanting to come for lunch for a while and I was not disappointed, will be back again soon!

    The food at Lamaro restaurant was excellent. There is such an extensive wine list it’s hard to choose. Our wine waiter was very knowledgeable and his suggestion was a winner. A little pricey but well worth it. No hesitation recommending Lamaro’s restaurant.
