We had brunch/lunch with our friends at Lalime's on a Sunday. It was delightful...many food choices, beautifully prepared and delicious. The dining room is open and has lots of natural light and the seating and space is attractive and comfortable. Great service, great food, great time. We'll be back!!

This was our first visit to Lalime and what a lovely surprise it was. The ambience was warm, the service quick and helpful but not hovering and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again.

Great Mediterranean menu. Warm ambiance in a craftsman style bungalow. Friendly and attentive service.

We have come here over the years and our visit this Sunday will be our last. In the past this has been a restaurant with good food, service, and atmosphere. No longer. Service was beyond awful. We ordered a salad and two entrees. The Caeser's salad lettuce was very old but otherwise the salad was good. I ordered the halibut burger which was awful. The halibut was not fresh and the breading was terrible. I asked for a glass of wine with the halibut three times and it never appeared. On the third occasion our waitress showed up finally for the third time during our one hour and fourth five minute dinner and asked if there was anything else we needed. I noted nicely I
had asked for a glass of wine on each of her appearances at our table and asked if I might have it. She was very apologetic a d rushed off (presumably to get it?) but after 20 minutes still no wine. She finally walked by our table and I asked for our check and containers for our leftovers. She complied but when she appeared we asked her for the container with the rest of the salad. Again she apologized and told us she had thrown it out! In fairness she offered to have the kitchen make us a new salad. We made the judgement that we didn't have another hour to kill, paid our bill, and left. The waitress was truly very pleasant but either overwhelmed (didn't look like it however) or incredibly incompetant. Not going back. Ever.

My party arrived 20 minutes late, but the restaurant accommodated us quickly and things went smoothly. We had a good table so the noise was moderate. The food and wine excellent, and we were the last patrons out the door. The place was busy, and we had an attentive waiter.

Caesar salad way delicious and enough to share with three salad lovers. Halibut "burger" also yummy. Service was professional and attentive. Very loud, but it was full of diners. Lights doing something weird - dimming and rising. Not sure why; server seemed vexed by this too. It's my neighborhood restaurant (I can walk) and seems like a very good deal for a special occasion like a birthday. Glad it's still here!

Wevhave been going to Lalimes for many many years. Went there for a birthday celebration the other night and was sorely disappointed. I ordered a lamb chop and was served four thin quarter sized slices that were so badly burnt on the edges that all I could taste was grit. My daughter said her hamburger tasted like it came from Denny’s and my husband was just as disappointed in his meal. Will not be back!

We had a 7:00 reservation, and were seated at 7:30. It took about 10 minutes for anybody to approach us. We had to ask for water and for bread. We ordered as soon as the waiter came over since we didn't want to wait until the drinks were delivered to order food ; he was very nice but not sure if they were understaffed or this is just how it is. The lettuce in the Caesar salad was old - you know how when you have old romaine it turns red and brown? It was red and brown. Asked for another one and waiter apologized and said this was the only lettuce they had. You really SHOULD NOT serve a salad like that. That is the stuff I throw out at home. Two people in our party had the filet. Both said it was both chewy and burned, it depended on what part of the filet you were eating. Not a good piece of meat. My daughter said the salmon was good and my pasta was fine but unremarkable. I had really wanted to like this place; the bill was $200 for four of us and I think you can find somewhere else to dine.

great meal, lovely server, but a little slow in bringing us our wine and main course, which it really a small thing. we also found the maitre d' to be terse. seems to me it's an important thing to have warmth when one walks into a restaurant. the food was great though. perfect greens, lovely baba ganoush, main course too, beautifully plated. we'll be back.

We were celebrating our anniversary. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a table of men who were drinking heavily, speaking loudly, and cursing up a blue streak. The service was really slow, as the restaurant was packed. They were out of my first-choice dish, which was disappointing for a 7:30 reservation. When our food came, I was served the wrong dish - lamb kebab - and I'm a vegetarian. It took time to get the right order. Overall a poor experience.

We revisited Lalime’s after years of not going. Our long-ago impression was that the food had been too rich, the atmosphere too close and loud. We were pleasantly surprised by a quiet ambience (early evening, on a Thursday) and an uncrowded feeling at a table for two. The dinner choices were appealing. We both chose the same bean stew, featuring garbanzos, fava beans, tomatoes, onions and garlic. We agreed it was tasty, but the proportion of garbanzos overwhelmed the pleasantly spicy stew. We ordered the peach pie for dessert and it came, without being warmed up, with ice cream and chantilly. It looked good, but warming it up would have lightened its density and enhanced its flavor. All in all, we enjoyed a pleasant meal with lovely table service. We decided we would return but not order anything we had tried.

Our server was exceptionally gracious and lovely -- went out of his way to bring us a delicious slice of pluot tart with a scoop of ice cream and a small candle to help me celebrate the birthday of a friend I was treating to dinner. We had not asked for this dessert -- but received it anyway. I was very touched. Our meal was quite wonderful. Just as it has been every time I have been to your restaurant for the past 10-15 years.

Asked for a seat at the window, but the host had no record of my written request. Then, we waited more than half an hour for our table, after arriving on time at 8.

Staff was polite, friendly, and attentive, and that I did greatly appreciate.

However...my starter, lobster bisque, was simply okay in taste, and served luke warm. The flavor was not fresh and bright; surprisingly, there was a burnt edge to the broth, which was offputting.

Lastly, I ordered the peach pie for dessert, and it was served ice cold, straight from the fridge, with the scoop of ice cream practically melted.

As for my dear friend, she voiced no complaints, but she may have been less critical and more forgiving than me, so as not to put a damper on our special occasion.

For the prices, I sure expected a lot more in terms of flavors. I had studied the menu online, and based on what I read, chose Lalime's out of 4 other restaurants recommended by a friend. The pictures shown were great, as were the discriptions of the items, but the food didn't live up to either.

From Dallas, I was in Okland just overnight, visting a friend of over 60 years, and I really wanted dinner to be a greatly satisfying experience, but it turned out to be only so-so.

All in all it was a mixed baggage. Very busy night, in particular for the service personnel. They tried but had too much to do. Poke and lobster bisque were ok, not memorable. The mushroom pasta was ok, but drowned in butter. The biggest disappointment was the halibut burger. Besides the bun it had nothing to do with a “burger”. It was a piece of halibut topped with “salsa” (both barely seasoned) and some slaw on the side, again not much seasoning. We had a friend visiting and expected so much more. The filet mignon was good. Because I’ve had some really good meals at Lalime’s, I put it under “let’s just forget this one...” I hope the next one will be better.

Although the service was very good, the food was quite disappointing. This was our second meal in a month at Lalime's. I ordered the prawns with a remoulade sauce and fried heirloom tomatoes. There were 5 small prawns and 4 tomatoes deep-fried in a very heavy batter that very much overwhelmed the subtlety of the tomatoes, two of which seemed to be Roma tomatoes--not exactly the heirlooms I had hoped for. The dish was $18.00 My husband had the stuffed squash and eggplant with a vegetarian filling. I've had this dish in Turkey when I was an exchange student and very excited to taste it again. The veggies were all very overcooked and the stuffing had no prominent flavors to define the dish. I would likely not return to Lalime's despite a very lovely setting. The time before, my husband did enjoy his beef filet, so I don't want to totally give up on the restaurant.
