Lake House - Lake Bluff
Beautiful restaurant!! I would recommend this establishment. Our waitress was super nice.
We had a lovely time celebrating our mother’s 85th birthday at The Lake House. Christian set us up in a nice room and Kim was a very attentive server. Everyone enjoyed their meals, especially Mom. They even let us bring in our own cake to celebrate. Great time.
Nice restaurant. Took my son for Navy Bootcamp Graduation dinner. Both he and I enjoyed.
Great Place for lunch and the buffet is excellent.
From the outside, I really didn't expect much
but was very impressed once we walked inside
Nice variety on the menu, food was served quickly and we enjoyed it
I will be back!
They had delicious food price was about what you would pay other places. service great. Had a pianist who played which really enhanced the experience. Highly recommend
Although the service was a bit slow... maybe because we were outside away from the crowd, the food was delicious. I left my purse there, and they found it and responsibly placed it in their safe!
We frequent this place- nice salad bar for cheap with dinner and love the broasted chicken!
Enjoyed our Friday fish fry. Pleasant surprise was live music.
Our group of 10 had a celebratory lunch at the Lake House after graduation at the Great Lakes Navy Training Center. We were seated as soon as we arrived. Service throughout was very good. With such a large menu to choose from we ordered sandwiches, seafood and steaks. Everyone enjoyed their meal selection. Our waitresses went above and beyond to make things special for our Sailor.
I had one of the wraps and it was delicious! Also enjoyed the chocolate strawberry martini. A must have!
Place was very nice and the atmosphere was friendly. Foos was not bad especially the AYCE snow crab legs. Will definitely do business again.
Great brunch experience in a peaceful setting/part of town. Set up with table, food, and champagne bar was nice. Kids enjoyed writing and drawing on the paper table cloth. Loved the prime rib with horse radish and mimosas. Have eaten there for Father's Day the last three years. Last Sunday was likely last time (family is moving); very happy it was another special occasion.
We had to wait for the Hostess to come greet us, she was off on the side, and she acted like she was doing us a favor by taking us to our table. Isn’t that her job? Maybe she needs to retire? The restaurant was clean, nice environment but none of our meals were great, just average.
This is one of our very favorite places. It has a great atmosphere, service and excellent food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The restaurant is relatively dark, and the eating area seems well separated from the bar so the noise level was quiet, except for our larger party. Staff seemed friendly but lacked some attention to detail. Calamari and bruscetta were good, the reuben egg rolls were the appetizer we enjoyed the most. The salmon was well prepared. The king crab was a good portion and the shells were opened which make this often exhausting task very easy. Wednesday nights there is all you can eat crab. Would come back for the crab and reuben egg rolls and to check out the bar scene.
Diane was our waitress and she was fabulous! Very attentive!
I would say the lunch buffet was okay and that I thought the booth seating needs a little updated cushioning and that the lighting was an ongoing issue, flickering. The server and manager tried to remedy it.
Food was great. I brought my mom and family for mother’s day. Everyone loved the food, my dad is already talking about going back. The Sunday brunch is awesome!!!
Great food and friendly waitstaff- we were there on a Sat nt and they had a piano player- it was a little bit loud , but the music was great- very talented player- very much enjoyed the whole evening!
One of our go-to places. Great salad bar at a cheap price. Cocktails are generous pours at reasonable prices and the food is great. Vegetable sides are a bit bland, but not too much to complain about! Love the jazz music on Saturday nights!
What a nice surprise! Friend suggested this place and I had never been before. There was a lunch buffet special but we ordered from the menu; the salads were yummy, nice size servings, and the warm bread with olive oil for dipping was a nice touch! I was not expecting but really appreciated the quieter atmosphere and clean, light ambience in the restaurant. There was a separate bar area and looks like live music on weekends. Looking forward to going again and trying something else off their menu!
We requested Only SeaFood( Salmonfish ) and NO Bacon, they still brought it loaded with Bacon. When we pointed it out waiter took the plate and said she will get a fresh one made from scratch with no Bacon, guess what when the new plate came, we flipped the fish it still had the bacon ... just hidden, cant believe they just cleaned it up and loaded the same thing again and that too they did a bad job even with that. I will never go back there. I took a team of 6 people.
Easter brunch. Honestly was so unimpressed with the quality of the food. The carving stations meats had two meats pork and ham. The pork was so dry it was not edible at all. The ham was just ok. The glasses on the table looked so dirty. Will not be going back because just not worth spending that kind of money for below average food.
We had an excellent WAITRESS!!!. Food was good. Crablegs were too thin. Hubby said chicken tender salad was amazing.
Love that place for business lunches and for dinners with friends. Food is always good, nice presentation. My clients like the lunch buffet as do I... Service is excellent and pricing is very fair. This is my new go to place
Took forever to get our drinks even though the place was empty. The salad bar had wilted lettuce and my rotisserie chicken had to go back because it was undercooked. It took so long to get it back my husband was done with his dinner. I ordered a glass of Rose' wine and knew it wasn't the wine I ordered off the menu. When the waitress brought the bill, she told me they didn't have what I wanted so they just substituted for a different wine. Seems like she would have come to me when I ordered it and told me they didn't have what I ordered and asked if I would like a replacement. My husband's dinner was so disappointing, he barely ate it. The noodles were undercooked and the marsala sauce was cold and lumpy. Very disappointed all the way around.
Great old supper club atmosphere. Liked the piano player. Good food, but was just warm. Totally shuts down by 9.
food was OK but the waitress must've been having an off-night. she seemed a little frazzled and didn't let my husband finish ordering a beer before she ran off. also, our appetizer and food all came at the same time (which all took a while). We sat close to the piano which was nice to listen to, but extremely loud and hard to hear eachother talk when the pianist was playing. kids pizza - eh, they didn't really like it...my burger didn't have much flavor, the calamari and salmon were ok.
First time here and totally thrilled by Lake House. Staff so personable and attentive; nice ambiance; great food and a jazz band to boot! Wide array of menu choices to suit every taste. Also plan to return soon for the excellent specials available certain nights. We were there for Walleye fish fry Friday night, which was delicious. We received so much fish that it was impossible to ask for and eat more! Looking forward to the rib, shrimp and snow crab all you can eat specials next. So happy we discovered Lake House and highly recommend it to one and all.
We were there on a VERY busy weekend, with Navy Bootcamp Graduation and RFMUS White Coat Ceremony. We had reservations for 8 and were placed at a table that would have been tight for 6- ALL tables were full/overfull. Hostess was efficient- but not at all welcoming, inviting or pleasant. Once seated, our waitress quickly appeared, took our drink orders and served them correctly. From there...we had issues. Orders were placed - including salad bars (which we we never told to "help yourself") and 2 appetizers (requested at the same time as other's entrees). One appetizer (toasted ravioli) was delivered almost immediately - 15 minutes later we were told they were "out" of the other. As entrees were delivered, we were "short" one -- an order of Cheese Ravioli. . . so the waitress said that the previously delivered toasted ravioli actually belonged to the cheese ravioli order, and attempted to move that plate to the "missing entree" customer-- NOT. HAPPENING. Got it straightened out, but for the $$$, it should never have been an issue. Live music was an unexpected bonus.
The Lake House offers a jazz band on Friday evenings, which is terrific. However, the music does get fairly noisy if you are seated near the band and want to talk with friends. Great menu and good service.
Average restaurant with average food.
Love the atmosphere. Love their broasted chicken. A little pricey. Enjoy their entertainment.
Excellent prime rib! Awesome service and best salad bar too
The Lake House in Lake Bluff looked dirty inside. When our party of 4 were seated, there were black cloth napkins from the previous diners on the floor under the table and on the side of the table that we entered. The cloth on the table was some kind of thick butcher block white paper. We ordered two appetizers. Buffalo wings and toasted/fried cheese ravioli. They were both very good. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. It was tasty. It came with a microwaved “baked” potato. The potato was not tasty. My husband ordered shrimp ceviche. It was bland. My son ordered ribeye with mashed potato and steamed veggies. The steak was just ok nothing special and not worth mentioning. The veggies were hot broc and carrots. The mashed potatoes looked amazing but were almost frozen to the touch. My son’s girlfriend ordered the chicken tortilla salad. She took a few bites and stopped eating it because it didnt taste good. We didnt call the subpar food to the attention of our server because there was a language barrior between us. The drinks from the bar were good. The bread they bring before the meal was good. I would not send any friends or families to waste their money at The Lake House at Lake Bluff
Corned beef and cabbage was delicious and plentiful. The other people in our party really enjoyed the Walleye fish fry. We all had a great experience.
It's been a while since I've been to a breakfast brunch. I was not disappointed. Friends recommended this restaurant and brunch and glad they did. Plenty f food, nice selection, very friendly waitstaff and nice ambiance. Oh..and I just about ate my body weight in bacon.....
Restaurant area is very quiet, piano playing, romantic. Decided to sit in the bar, loud and service was just ok, but burgers were great!
