Great place. Always love the food. This tune however we were not as impressed with the menu. The Lux Burger amazing as always but the other entrees of the sirloin special, & loco moco not as yummy. Biggest thing the loco moco is 2 beef patties on rice and menu doesn’t reflect that.

Great menu selection; great value; great service. Easy dining.

Great neighborhood restaurant in Uptown! Lively, but quiet enough for a good conversation. Our food was fantastic, but the service was a little slow, especially in the beginning with drink orders.

Ideal neighborhood bistro, creative menu and cocktails, warm and friendly, relaxed.

Our second time here but our first for brunch. A previous dinner was excellent. Brunch offerings were numerous and varied, as well as creative, though I wish there were more breakfast options for non-egg eaters. Waffles were about it. There were four of us this too, versus just the two of us the first time around. Their first time here. Everyone liked their food as far as taste was concerned, and aside from the chicken and waffles for $13 being just two wedges (half of a round waffle) and a single chicken breast, we were quite satisfied. Two diners had a spicy bowl concoction of some sort and while they both thought it was really tasty, both felt quite definitively that it was too spicy. This coming from two people who love spicy food, so for what it's worth, watch out! Definitely a nice restaurant with unique food and a good vibe. We will be back.

Food was good and we thought it was a good value. Liked that we could have a booth so we could hear each other talk which doesn't happen in a lot of restaurants on a Saturday night. Waitress totally missed that I booked the reservation to celebrate my husband's birthday. She never mentioned nor did anything to help us celebrate. Is that her fault or mine? Either way, we would return.

We really enjoyed our meal. Both the food and the service were excellent.

May be the best restaurant in Uptown. Warm atmosphere. Incredible food (truly the best burger in msp) and great drinks. We were there today for brunch and were blown away again by just what a great spot this is.

I live in the neighborhood and we are at Lake and Irving frequently. Had some out of town guests and took them here for dinner. This is the best place in Uptown, and the food is superb. No matter what time of day you come here, brunch, lunch, afternoon snacks, dinner. The menu is creative and everything is consistently good. Very friendly and attentive staff. A great neighborhood hangout!

Wonderful, interesting food is the main attraction. Friendly service. Lively atmosphere. I think the lighting particularly in the back room could be softer and thus cozier.

This restaurant is a local gem. The food is always top notch plus they have a great draft beer selection. Wait staff are always helpful and friendly.

This was our second time visiting the restaurant. We were excited to be there during restaurant week and celebrating a birthday but our visit was kind of disappointing. It really boiled down to service. Our server was less than attentive to our group of 6. It was a Tuesday night, so it wasn't exactly busy. She seemed more interested in watching the Wild game that they were playing over the bar. While she did note at the last minute that we were celebrating a birthday and brought out a mochi dessert, we were never offered a dessert menu(which would have been great because most of us weren't interested in the mochi).

It was also disappointing to see that they drastically reduced the menu due to restaurant week. Basically it felt like we were either to order from the restaurant week menu or have a burger. I get that during a special week like that restaurants sometimes limit their menus, but it was surprising to find such limited options especially because I had looked online prior to booking and saw the full menu listed.

My favorite neighborhood gem! Great food, ambiance and service ( thank you Evan!). Cocktails are also excellent.

Went for restaurant week for some girlfriends- we had a great time, most of the food was delicious, particularly the pork hash dumplings, pork tenderloin, Ahi entree, and apple/pear tartlet for dessert. The watercress salad was billed as a highlight, but it was just your average salad. We also shared a wonderful bottle of pinot noir... good for a special dinner!

Very interesting and creative menu. Had a group of 6, each of us ordered something different. All of us enjoyed our meals and cocktails. Nice touch was the mochi ice cream dessert for my birthday.

Lake & Irving continues to be one of my favorite spots in Uptown. Somewhat upscale (and delicious) food, yet decently priced in a laid back atmosphere. Great beer selection, great service, and great for both dinner and weekend brunch. I have not yet been there for lunch.
My most recent trip there, I was a little dismayed to learn that the menu had been turned over (I am going to miss the green beans and the St. Louis style ribs app), but the new menu did not disappoint!

We all enjoyed our food and creative cocktails. We definitely will go back again. The scallops were amazing.The KFC cauliflower was sooo good. The ginger scallion Opakapaka is something I will come back for!

Used to be my favorite restaurant. The last two times there it was good but not as good. Changed their menu and some of our faves are off the menu or changed.

Went for the chicken sandwich and cheeseburger. Both were great. Will be back again for sure.

I had the cauliflower appetizer and the fried chicken sandwich with a side salad for my entree. The appetizer was very tasty with just enough spice.

Delicious brunch food with yummy aioli options. We noted “need 2 booster seats” on our reservation and there were crayons ready to go at the table upon arrival. Love the vibe and appreciated how cool everyone was with our toddler chaos.

Best neighborhood-meets-comfort-food restaurant in town.

Sunday brunch was amazing! Great variety of options and my entire group was super satisfied with their food. I highly recommend their chicken and waffles!! Or anything to be honest, they also offer their DELICIOUS buttermilk chicken sandwich for brunch, so make sure to dive into that bad boy (yummm!)

What a surprise this was. Food was great, wine was reasonable and the service was very good.

The food was the star of this show - very nice flavor profiles that were well executed. The atmosphere was a little loud and not as cozy as some other Minneapolis gems but I would not let that prevent me from going Lake & Irving again.

Listed as a foodie favorite by open table wasn’t quite accurate. Food was average and service ok. We’ve been underwhelmed here for breakfast too.

Best casual dining in Uptown. And the burger is the best in town. Amazing place.

We went on a Monday night for our Anniversary so it wasn't crowded but everything about the restaurant was excellent. I would definitely go again and would highly recommend it!
