Great food and services as usual!
Great experience all around for celebrating a birthday dinner with family
We love Lake & Irving. The food is always reliably delicious with attentive service (just the right amount of attention). We brought good friends and sat outside on the patio. Great place-we will be back. It's a neighborhood favorite!
Delicious food, tasty drinks and a great place to meet out of town friends. Each time we go we live the food and service. See you next time!
Best comfort food in town. The burger is amazing.
Lake & Irving has a great every day menu, but if they have a special the night you are there you owe it to yourself to order it!
Lake & Irving is a neighborhood favorite. It’s a place to go to see friendly faces and enjoy consistently great food.
I really enjoyed my quiche, although I was hoping it'd be a bit bigger. Everyone in our party of 7 enjoyed their meal. I'd love to go back!
We had a terrific experience, good food and excellent service. We really liked our server, Josh!
We had a great dinner with teenaged daughters. Both KFC and brussel sprouts were hits. Salmon, hanger steak, cheeseburger and caprese sandwich were all great.
Always yummy with very good service-a wonderful combination
We went to dinner here with another couple for Restaurant Week. We all had the hoisin-glazed salmon with stick rice, so not much variety for feedback here. The salmon was great -- not overcooked which is my pet peeve with most foods, including fish. The sauce was tasty and complemented the salmon well and the sticky rice proved a nice complement. The lettuce cup appetizer was also very tasty and the raspberry creme brulee for dessert was just amazing.
The atmosphere is fun and energetic, if not a bit on the loud side. Our waiter was helpful and did a very nice job on a busy Thursday evening. We would like to get back again and try some other items on the menu.
One last thing, parking is available behind the restaurant but it is limited.
Best meal I had during Restaurant Week. The wine pairing included a white and a pinot, which I've never had any luck with. But they worked out perfectly. The pressed watermelon salad was nicely dressed -- not too heavy, and with a subtle flavor. (We couldn't tell that the watermelon was pressed. We joked that maybe it just got a gently hug.) The sauce with the pork chop was delicious, I wish there 'd been some bread to mop it up. The chop was a bit too chewy for me. My friend had the beef, and pronounced it the best steak he'd had since our trip to Italy. All in all, a memorable meal.
Went tonight for Reataurant Week. Wonderful dinner with wine pairing. Service was good if a bit impersonal. Hoisin glazed salmon was particularly good.
We came for restaurant week and had a fantastic experience. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines we asked about. The food was presented very nicely and was great.
I enjoyed the FLAVORS of my food. It was served cold and the pork chop was kind of chewy. The timing of the food was a little off. We ate 1/2 our salads when the entree was delivered. I enjoyed the KFC and watermelon salad so I’d come back and try it one more time. The Server was great and apologetic about the mistiming of the food. We ultimately had received a discounted check, which was also nice. All in all, again, I’d go for a second try.
Server very fun and attentive. The wine list includes some affordable bottles. I am one of those few people who is not a watermelon fan. The watermelon salad was over the moon!
This review is specifically for the restaurant week menu of July 2018. Our first experience with Lake and Irving was the fall/winter restaurant week which was outstanding! We have been back several times and it's always good. this season's restaurant week was not my favorite, but the food was good, just not as interesting.
We went for restaurant week because their menu said there was going to be raspberry creme brulee. What we got was an undercooked creme brulee with raspberries on top (it should not be soupy). It was also half the size of the regular menu creme brulee. Those in our party who ordered off the restaurant week menu were extremely disappointed because the meal was over priced, we didnt even get a full size dessert. Yes, it was a tasty pork chop but the broccoli was cold and bland while the potatoe puree wasn't anything special. Others got the fried chicken sandwich and seemed to like it well enough. My parents each got the fried chicken sandwich and split a creme brulee and their bill was the same as my single restaurant week meal. The service was also pretty slow and the seating very uncomfortable. It's unlikely we will return.
Waitress was excellent and was never rushed or ruffled
Menu is excellent, with something with everyone, and deserves its designation as a gastropub. Service was par excellence. Lake and Irving is unique - pub feel, excellent service with a superb blend of Asian/American cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant. Great patio too, very close to Uptown and the Lakes.
Great place with great food and patio. Menu is not big, but everything is really good.
We are members of a group of ex-coworkers who meet monthly for meals. L&I is the only venue where all members show up. We’ll be back later in the month for lunch with another group of friends. Excellent servers!
The wait staff are all very warm and friendly, and the food was delicious (Sunday brunch). We sat outside on the patio on a lovely, summer, Sunday morning.
We were seated in the way back of the restaurant where it was dark and away from the liveliness of the restaurant.
Outdoor dining with dogs allowed. Need I say more, awesome!
If you like good food, great cocktails, and a great ambiance, this is the place for you. The price is very reasonable for the quality of food you get. Bree was our server and she was excellent. I'd recommend this place with no hesitation.
Went for the chilaquiles, was disappointed they were no longer available... ordered the ghosts bowl instead. Asked for the Ghost Pepper aoli on the side, was afraid it might have been too hot. It was a great balance of heat... allowed other favors of the dish come thru without killing my taste buds. Will be back.
Food was very good. Items a little pricey but still a very relaxing enjoyable dinner. We ate on the patio which is dog friendly. Saw three cute puppies. Fun night with a good friend.
Enjoyed a delicious Father’s Day dinner. The special was a Blackened Salmon with coconut shrimp and fingerling potatoes with red pepper coulee. Yum!!
The chicken sandwich is the best thing ever! The ghost bowl was very tasty as well. We love this place.
All our breakfasts were wonderful. We’ve eaten there many and will continue. However, on a day or time when the place was practically empty, the server himself was inattentive. We had a guest and it was disappointing as the kitchen was stellar.
Awesome patio. The waitress remembered serving us a year ago! I had the steak salad which was excellent.
Will be back when we’re in town, everyone enjoyed the meal. Recommended!
Really enjoyed our meals. Salmon with wild rice and Salmon with pasta were equally delicious. The guys had the Hanger steak which was cooked to perfection. Cheesecake was light and delicate could have easily ordered a second one as it was so yummy. Recommend a non dairy dessert on your menu. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem.
We had great food at a reasonable price.
It was a great place for a get-together with old friends. Noise level was moderate. Free parking was a super plus!
It was really cold and drafty, even after we asked to move tables.
Food is always consistently good! The chicken sandwich is a must have. The KFC califlower is amazing!
