AMAZING every time!!!!! Service, drinks, food! Yum!!!
We love this neighborhood hangout. The food is consistently top rate and the staff is quite responsive to your every need.
Snow day in Minneapolis so very little people out on the road. Great spot in uptown for a drink, brunch and good company with excellent service.
Best burger and buttermilk chicken sandwich ever ! And the margarita is AMAZING !
Cozy spot for a casual dinner with friends on a snowy night. Cauliflower app was wonderful, as were burgers.
Breakfast/Brunch was great!
Herschel was our waiter, he did a great job and was friendly and fun. He made a couple great recommendations and we were all pleased. I should also include that Lake & Irving is priced very reasonably.
L&I doesn't disappoint. While the menu seems small, it had something for everyone, and one of the best burgers I've ever had. Not to mention the Whiskey and Fig, and Gimle cocktails! Delish!
Awesome dinner! Everything was great, especially the Ahi shot appetizer!
Great free parking in the back was a huge bonus.
We really enjoyed our lunch and were please that unlike many brunch spots in the area, it wasn't totally overrun at noon on a Saturday!
The brisket hash was out of this world! And the fact that have parking? In Uptown? 'Nuf said.
Great small plates, fantastic service. Perfect place for creative light fare. We especially enjoyed the Korean Fried Cauliflower and the roasted beets. And the service staff were excellent and friendly.
Lake & Irving has been our favorite restaurant and we continue to find it to be a source of comfort and relaxation. We find ourselves going at least once or twice a week and sometimes more. I would strongly put lake & Irving at the top of your list for an awesome dining experience
Easter Brunch. Excellent! The selections were great, service was great. Had a very nice meal. Would do it again!
Easter this year happened to fall on my Mother's birthday. We don't celebrate easter, however, so it was just us there for her birthday. I checked the website before making the reservation, and it mentioned that there would be a special easter brunch menu, but I didn't see anywhere saying that they weren't going to be serving anything off of their already very small regular menu.
So we were somewhat forced into the easter brunch menu by circumstance. It was expensive. $26 per person. The options seemed good, so we consigned ourselves to it.
I'm just going to get it out of the way that our server seemed irritated/irritable and hasty throughout our service. She wasn't one for chit chat or happiness, but it was a family holiday she couldn't attend herself, so I'm giving her a pass.
My complaints were the food.
- The salmon on toast with creme fraiche etc. was the size of my thumbnail. We got one each.
- The fruit plate was composed of cheap produce fruits. The orange slices weren't even peeled, and we didn't even get a whole section of an orange between us. There was far too much cantaloupe.
- I don't eat scrambled eggs, so those were a waste. We got two slices of bacon, nothing special about it. The hashbrowns were actually excellent. One of the few really good things about this meal.
- The biscuits and gravy were good, but nothing that knocked our socks off. One per person.
- The nutella french toast was a little lackluster, neither of us finished it. The bananas foster waffle was excellent.
All in all, it was excessively heavy on cheap carbohydrates, and almost no protein in the meal. I needed a 3 hour nap afterwards because of the carbo coma.
The only thing that we loved, were the drinks.... which weren't included in the price of this tiny buffet.
I think it was a nice idea, but they were definitely working to churn a heavy profit. I would've been so much happier if we could've just ordered a simple lunch instead.
Absolutely loved the service and the food! We had the Easter brunch and it was the best! Moderate portion siZes and amazing food!
We had Easter brunch and loved it. I liked that the food was served family style and not a buffet - the quality was much better than a buffet would have been. Everything was delicious and the portions were just right. The vibe was casual but classy and our server was cheerful and attentive without being annoying. Loved that we were in Uptown but didn't have the too-cool-for-you hipster feel. Outdoor seating wasn't open yet, but we imagined ourselves enjoying food and drinks on the patio on a warm day. We'll definitely come back for a regular meal!
Wonderful meal. Great neighborhood restaurant. The burger is one of the best in town; the chicken appetizer is really really good; and the salmon entree was delicious. We will be back.
L&I over the past few years has become one of my favorite restaurants! I’ve always had great service and yummy food. Most recently, Herschel, took care of us and he was outstanding! Fun, informative and professional.
Only disappointment was the large ice cube in my handcrafted gin drink. I had this last time and I think the pour was very slim this time. The ice cube was quite large and the liquids barely covered the cube. Four a 10 drink I understand you get a shot of gin but the mix could had been more generous.
We loved it, and should have come here a long time ago. We will definitely be back. Excellent, creative food, ample portions (though another scallop or two would have made for a better review), the opakapaka was superb, and the sauces with both entrees were mouth-watering. Lots of energy in the place (Saturday night), great atmosphere (loved the lighting), creative cocktails, plenty of wines by the glass (average pours at best), and the casual/local neighborhood feel was great. I only wish we could walk here! Excellent service from Dina, and the staff works extremely well as a team. Highly recommended!
Food delicious and service great , a great neighborhood location , reasonable prices. Not too loud. I love this place. Ellen McInnis
I love this place. It’s not cheap but the food is amazing even for someone who can’t eat dairy. I’ve sent my parents here, caught up with past colleagues, met with my book club. It has a warm cozy intimate feel but it’s also a bit noisy. Which can be good for smaller conversations but a bit harder for groups bigger than 6. Great service, too.
I was here three times this past week, once for Sunday brunch, once for a Birthday celebration and enjoyed Happy Hour with our regular group. Service was always attentive and helpful.
The food was really good on all 3 occasions.
Will definitely be going back.
Well as always we enjoyed an incredible meal and good conversation. The staff and the food are #1
Lake & Irving is one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. I like that they take reservations and are not booked weeks out. We've also had good luck visiting without reservations, especially if we're willing to sit at the bar. Great beer list, great cocktails, and the food is excellent.
This is one of our favorite places to eat. Their buttermilk chicken sandwich is to die for!!!
The cocktails and short ribs are first rate! We have never been disappointed in our meals or our service at this relaxed venue. You won't be disappointed.
I still believe this place serves the best cheeseburger in the city. Best waitstaff as well.
This is a beautiful place with well sourced ingredients for delicious food. The drinks are created with great imagination and taste! We were blown away and can't wait to return. Especially in summer for their outdoor dining.
When Lucia's closed, we need a place to go on the occasions when we did not feel like cooking, or when we had a little something to celebrate. This is now our regular stomping ground.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were great too! I loved the Korean cauliflower and the crusted fish dish (I can't remember the exact name.) Really impressive service too -- I'll definitely be back!
This is a restaurant that consistently delivers delicious food, and has great service. Thank you again Lake & Irving! You’re our favorite!!!
I love this place! Amazing food. I’d go so far to say it was the best piece of fish I have ever had...ever.
We lived every bite of the restaurant week menu. We will be back!
My husband and I are huge fans of Lake & Irving. We have found we can always rely on their tried and true menu offerings to be well executed and delicious. By chance we came the last night their Restaurant Week menu was offered. My husband stuck with one of his favorites, the Ahi tuna salad, and I ordered from the special menu; starting with lettuce wrap cups filled with short rib- soooooo good! The scallops were my main course and they were prepared to perfection. My meal included a dessert and I chose the apple crisp with cinnamon ice cream. On the drive home, all we could talk about was how great everything tasted. The service here is attentive and friendly. We love Lake & Irving!
We had a great time celebrating my son's engagement there on a Friday night. It was restaurant week and most of us had the specials and wine pairing. I loved the vibe and the scallops were delicious!
The restaurant week option was fabulous! Regular menu items are also very good
We visited during Restaurant Week and we will be back!
Restaurant Week lunch menu was great. Broccoli cheese soup was fantastic and the Furakake chicken was exceptional. Wine pairing went great with the foods. Cuban sandwich (not on regular menu) was very good. Service was great as well.
