Lagniappe - Amelia Island
remoulade, tomato, lettuce, on brioche bun
Bang Island Mussels
blue cheese, Benton's bacon, toasted bread
Lagniappe provides a great atmosphere, modern with a hint of Creole, and excellent food ranging from dishes definitely having a New Orleans flair to beautifully prepared and presented local fare. The oysters are perfect. The soft shell crabs superb - when they have them. All the food is better than good! My only gripe is the noise level. But I feel that way about most every restaurant.
Meal was not inexpensive but was awesome. Our server Lanny was spectacular, nice and reasonably priced wine list, great food. Overall a great experience!!
Food was delicious, our server was relaxed and extremely accommodating. Great place to dine!
Am always pleased to visit, dine etc. here. Melanie and staff are so helpful and pleasant to work with.
Laney was a terrific waiter he and his team made wonderful suggestions and also did a terrific job taking care of our table for 10 ! This was our last night of a 50 yr reunion and it was very special - thank you all our hostess was top drawer also
And of course we can’t not salute the cook or cooks my special monk fish was exceptional and my husband’s Osobucco was stellar - mussels appetizer was unbelievable too -
Thank you to entire team for a truly exceptional experience- we will share our experience and also be back the next time we come to Amelia !
Lagniappe is a must visit anytime you are in Amelia Island! Food and service are excellent. Great wine list as well.
The food was very good, the waiter was excellent
Fantastic restaurant. Food is great. Love the menu.
We really expected more given the reputation (and price point). Everything was okay, but nowhere near worth the $260 bill. Food was what I would expect from a high-end chain - think J.Alexander’s meets Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Not bad at all, just nothing special. Unfortunately, the bar is pretty high on Amelia Island given all the amazing options and this meal fell way short. Very unlikely to return.
Excellent scallops and chicken! Not many child/teen friendly choices. Server was excellent!! Bus staff had some challenges. Overall a lovely night and a great choice!
Excellent service and a most gracious hostess/owner.
One of our favorite restaurants. Consistent quality, great owners.
Food was acceptable just not exceptional. Service and attention paid to ensuring a good dinner was very good.
Had reservation for 8; they tried to cram us into a booth so tight we couldn’t move. Manager refused to seat us anywhere else inside even at two separate tables; she was not at all accommodating. Finally sat outside and the food was not good. Bad choice.
As usual, Open Table reservations worked great. Food and atmosphere were very good. Great dining experience!
Took the wife for her birthday. Ordered special of the day— fish was ok however risotto was not well made. Appeared like mushrooms were added to white rice and done. Waitress was fantastic - she did her best but there was no recovering from a bad meal. Waitress spoke with manager and received the “sorry for you” (not literally) but that’s what we felt. Overall and ok experience other than this. Lastly, restaurant was highly recommended from another restaurant owner in Virginia but nothing will bring me back here. Too bad the owners were not there today, maybe they could have done something to save the day.
Interior of the restaurant was pretty. Service was marginal (very blunt and awkward at times) and food was okay.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and exceptional staff. I can’t say enough about this restaurant.
Excellent food and service. I enjoyed it so much that we went twice in one week. The wine list is vast and the hand crafted cocktails are impressive. This is a great “gem” in Amelia Island.
Had a very nice dining experience. Great birthday dinner celebration for my husband. All was wonderful …food, service and ambiance.
Best calamari I’ve ever had. Food came out very fast and was hot but everything felt a bit rushed. Cocktails were good and I had the cat fish which was a bit crispy and didn’t have a ton of flavor. My husbands steak and fries was quite delicious.
Staying on Amelia for a week and wanted to go out for dinner. We all love Italian and seafood. This place has both and they are INCREDIBLE! Make a reservation and you are good to go. Price as advertised. Service was WONDERFUL! We appreciated the outdoor seating and great menu!
The Food and Service were great. The Peanut Butter pie is amazing!
Such a welcoming atmosphere! Our server Chris was amazing! Best Calamari we have ever had! There was no room for dessert but we will be back for that!! Thanks Chef and Melanie for a wonderful experience!
Meal and service was very good! The only challenges we encountered were the idiots behind our table with two young children under three years of age that screamed throughout the evening. What a beautiful ambiance they created for ALL dining guests. We have numerous grandchild and love them very much but there is a place for everything! Please take these spoiled brats to a family style restaurant if they are unable to manage their behaviors including volume.
Nice place for a date night. The ambiance was nice but a little loud. The cheese board was delicious along with our meal
Our party of 6 had a great experience here....we arrived on time for our reservation, greeted in a very timely, friendly manner at the door, and seated right away. Our food was amazing....from sea scallops, fish of the day, charcuterie board, to delicious desserts.
We had a lemon pie and key lime cake. Brandy was a great server and very attentive. Great experience.
Excellent food, first class service
Good food, so up in the kitchen caused or entree to arrive on top of out appetizers. Entrees were taken back and kept warm but ended up affecting the quality
Food was great as usual. On this visit, our server, Bob, really didn’t seem very interested in being there. Service can make a big difference in the total experience.
Disappointed and shall not be able to recommend to associates and family for several reasons:
1). I am or a twist and not garb accustomed to a martini before dinner. Your bartender simply had no idea of how to assemble one. I requested a dry martini with lemon twist, shaken straight up. I was given a warm martini with half vermouth and half gin , served in an inappropriate glass at a drink temperature clearly not appropriately served. I, my wife and our waitress all laughed at the ‘twist’. And three times asked for a twist and not garnish.
2). I ordered you Louisiana prepared swordfish. (My wife is from Louisiana). What I was served was priced at $32, clearly not worth 1/3 that. Boiled, stewed tomatoes clearly over prepared, the polenta much, the birds nest garnish foolishly topped. Fish was properly cooked.
3. Calamari came soaked in a sweet sauce drizzled with an overly amount of hot sauce. Nothing Louisiana here. Not worth your featuring.
4. My wife took her order home.
For these reasons along with on other, we cannot, regretfully recommend your restaurant and hope we were at the bad end of a one- off dining experience.
Respectfully, R Jean Vallieres
Great food and service
Steak was great and nice atmosphere.
Enjoyed the experience!
Nice ambiance, decent steak, great service, a bit over-priced.
excellent atmosphere, food and service. First time but we will be back.
It was a great dinner with outstanding service.
The server was very attentive. The mixed drinks were sketchy. The table was very small for four people.
Our experience here was very good. Service was prompt and the food was very tasty. Peanut butter dessert was excellent.
Excellent!!! Especially the food - amazing! A unique combination of ingredients, but not over the top. Just a little extra special! Cheers to the chef!
We elected outdoor seating on the patio for a quieter evening, and the inside seating looked energetic and fun.
I have dined here previously on a few occasions and have enjoyed the experience.
On this occasion, the server seemed very inexperienced and was not appropriately attentive. She would come way too soon to rush to take order and likewise later when the food was barely placed down to ask how everything was, and when advised that we were not quite ready, then she disappeared for long periods.
One of our party opted to substitute brussel sprouts as a side which she has enjoyed previously. At this point there was no mention of a $4 up charge though the server later claims otherwise.
We received our meals and everything was very good except for the brussel sprouts which were undercooked and missing any drizzle which usually comes on it. The server was nowhere to be seen during our entire meal, except for the short appearance when the food barely hit our tables. The brussel sprouts were left uneaten.
Later, before we even received the bill, the server was told the brussel sprouts were not good. We then received the bill which included a $4 up-charge for the brussel sprouts. I questioned this up-charge due to the brussel sprouts being not good and was told she would ask her manager. Shockingly, when she returned, she told us the manager would not remove the up-charge based on their policy regardless of whether the customer liked something , that my credit card was run for the full amount, and if I had a question she could bring over the manager. I couldn’t believe it!!! I then questioned further on this policy and mentioned that the up-charge had not even been mentioned in the first place, to which the server stated untruthfully that she had mentioned.
No matter how much I may enjoy a restaurant, these are the types of issues that have me never return unless very compelled, and to warn others away. Very poor showing Lagniappe :(((
