The Feast of Seven Fishes is a tradition that originated in Southern Italy, where it is known as "The Vigil" and commemorates the wait for the midnight birth of the baby Jesus. Roman Catholics have a long tradition of eating seafood on Christmas Eve. The meal consists of seven different seafood dishes . . . each of which we're keeping a secret until the big day! The event begins at 6 pm, and the cost per person is $100.

Incredibly loud. Our party of four was seared in a room with two very large parties, including a birthday celebration. Two 10+ groups and us. I could barely hear my brother in law seared next to me. On top of that, the waitress assigned to us also was responsible for the large groups. Guess who got her attention. We spent over $300 for noise and little attention. I’ll never go back.

It was a beautiful night to sit out on the patio with the fire pit blazing. As always the food and service were phenomenal. Even though it was an extremely busy Saturday night the drinks and food were served in a timely manner by a friendly and attentive server.

Save your money and go elsewhere! We sure wish we had chosen differently. My husband and I were looking for a romantic place to celebrate my birthday and mentioned so when making the reservation. We were seated in a room where a large birthday party was happening and the noise level was so high we could not hear our own conversation! Then, to add insult to injury, the food was disappointing. My husband’s trout had very little flavor and my nondescript salad was extremely overpriced. What should have been a celebration (I might also add that the restaurant in no way recognized my special day) turned out to be a very non-festive and very disappointing experience.

Our waiter made the evening, really efficient and friendly. The food was as always exceptional. One of the real joys is that portions are ample permitting a take home. You will remember the flavors for time. It is too many the best restaurant on the island, and I can’t argue with the conclusion that they reach. It’s fantastic.

The calamari and the tomato appetizers were superb. Not at all impressed with the chicken wings or the ceviche (shouldn’t ceviche always come with chips?). The Caesar salad was ok, but topped with a bland piece of (blackened?) salmon.

Had a great time at Lagniappe with friends visiting from the north. Server was very attentive, maybe even a little too much, but that’s better that not getting enough attention. We shared the calamari, and enjoyed the blackened redfish, salmon over Caesar salad, shrimp & grits and fried redfish. Everything was delicious. We had a booth which was nice, but it was a little noisy with a full dining room. Overall, we all enjoyed the evening and our friends were very happy with the restaurant choice.

Once again we experienced the owner/hostess that acts more like a drill sergeant. We were greeted by a pleasant young lady who realized we had asked for a booth when making the reservation since we were celebrating a milestone birthday. Then the drill sergeant intervened and said we couldn't have a booth since they were reserved. I guess you have to be a special friend in order to get the seating selection you want. I don't understand how they continue to put up with this. Yes, the food is good but we won't be back since this is the third (and last) time we've dealt with her. Our son who works in the food/restaurant industry commented on her rudeness, unprofessional look and bad attitude.

Dear Stella took care of us … she was absolutely WONDERFUL — attentive, amiable, and knowledgeable. Kitchen staff prepared and served our five drinks, meals, and multiple appetizers/desserts — all memorably delicious and beautifully presented. Service and food were top notch. Drinks and food were served promptly, temperature and taste was excellent. Just what we were expecting whenever we visit. We enjoyed a nice chat with the owner at the end of our meal to round out the evening.

The food was just OK. Felt rushed getting our meal right after our apps. Sat outside, and there were ants repeatedly on the table, we asked for a tablecloth, and they said no, but they did give us a napkin so we could keep killing them. not what we expected after seeing some good reviews.

Food overall was quite good, the mussels with blue cheese and bacon were cooked nicely and had great flavor, the braised short ribs were tender without being over cooked. We did feel very rushed for our 8pm reservation- the entrees came out while we were still eating the appetizers. We wanted to order a second bottle of wine but were told the bar was closed - minutes after a member of our party was served a cocktail. It was obvious the staff wanted to get out of there (it was barely after 9 pm and there were other tables seated) - lights were turned off in other parts of the dining room and the staff came in like a pit crew to sweep the floor and buss tables. I would not recommend choosing this restaurant for an enjoyable dinner after 7 pm unless you're in a hurry.

We were visiting on our way from North Carolina To Florida and picked this place based on Yelp and Trip Advisor reviews. I order the catfish which was excellent and my husband had the short ribs were delicious and such a large portion that he had the rest the next evening for dinner. We have eaten at many fine restaurants and this is one of the best!

My cheese burger was excellent, but my wife's blackened salmon was overdone even though she asked for it medium rare. Our guest ordered the catch of the day, and it was similarly overdone.

The blue cheese mussels were delicious and so were our entrees , I do believe you need some work on your salads - they were the only part of the meal that was mediocre. The drink special I had was black berry martini and it was also excellent! This is one of our favorite Amelia Island restaurants but do work on your salads 💖👍

Great food and exceptional service. It was pretty busy on a Saturday evening and we still were able to order appetizer and full meal and be served and finish within an hour.

We come to Amelia 6-8 times a year. We always eat at Lagniappe while we are here. Food is always delicious. The atmosphere is charming and we have never had poor service.
