About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for special occasions
  • Lively
The Louisiana French Creole use the term “lagniappe” to describe something that’s “a little something extra,” and that's exactly what chef owner Brian Grimley knows it takes to transform a dish from mere food into an experience you never forget. Inspired by the culture and flavors of New Orleans, Charleston and Savannah, Chef Grimley's Lagniappe- Amelia Island combines the traditions of the French Creole with unique twists on Southern culinary staples using only the freshest local ingredients. And should you wish to elevate your experience by imbibing one of the many cocktails on the menu, you'll choose from a range of both classic and new wave cocktails inspired by the eclectic spirit of the South.

We sat outside on the patio an it was beautiful. Our server Lanny was excellent. He recommended food dishes and wine to go with. The steelhead salmon appetizer. Corn chowder crispy Brussels sprouts, jalepeno corn bread and the tile fish special. All the food was excellent ! A special thanks to Lanny for making our dinner awesome!!

Sometimes when you’re visiting from out of town - you really want to find the spot where the locals go - Laginappe is that place. Bustling even on a Monday night - not an empty seat at 6:30 PM when we arrived for our reservation. Greeted warmly and seated quickly at the only open table - our waiter Rob was charmingly efficient fetching us a cold bottle of rose and taking our orders after thoughtful explanations about the days specials. We settled on the shrimp and grits (yes with the tails cutoff!) and a grit cake that was amazing. The other entree was a sweet tea brined pork chop that was decadent. So - if you’re visiting - don’t think twice about having dinner at this wonderful locals place.

Everything was amazing from the food to our server Nathan. He did an excellent job. I had the captains salmon and my husband had the meatloaf special and both were delicious. Love Lagniappe.

Service was exceptional, food was very good, I would recommend the pork shank. Drinks were excellent and will add that Lanny our server was so professional and knowledgeable that it felt like he was family. Special thanks for his attention to details and making our anniversary dinner very special.

Long time lagniappe fans however very disappointing nite. The braised short ribs had a very Smokey taste These short ribs were presented as wine braised and different from the old short ribs that were smoked and not enjoyable for us. These were Smokey as well. The Cotes du Rhône wine on your menu by the glass for years our favorite at $10. Was discontinued but not replaced by anything similar. Just Malbec wines and the only French red by the glass was $15. So disappointed. There are so many reasonable Cotes du Rhône in the market and we wonder why none offered after many years of offering.
