The Louisiana French Creole use the term “lagniappe” to describe something that’s “a little something extra,” and that's exactly what chef owner Brian Grimley knows it takes to transform a dish from mere food into an experience you never forget. Inspired by the culture and flavors of New Orleans, Charleston and Savannah, Chef Grimley's Lagniappe Restaurant combines the traditions of the French Creole with unique twists on Southern culinary staples using only the freshest local ingredients. And should you wish to elevate your experience by imbibing one of the many cocktails on the menu, you'll choose from a range of both classic and new wave cocktails inspired by the eclectic spirit of the South.

Our server was Bob, he was great. Bob recommended the mussels as an appetizer, they were delicious. Entree servings were plentiful. We ordered the catch of the day, which was pompano, and the pork shank. They were both very good, can’t find anything negative to say about them. We left the restaurant having enjoyed the experience and will definitely visit again. Make sure to ask for Bob if you go!

Very good spot if staying at Omni or Ritz. We had great wine fairly priced and the entries were also reasonable. Food good but not GREAT. Location was the key. Will definitely go back again.

I went on a quick girls getaway. While playing tennis, we spoke to a "local" about where to eat that night. Her first response was Lagniappe. We took her recommendation and were so glad we did. We ordered the crab cake dinner and a side of the roasted brussel sprouts. It was my birthday so we shared a piece of Hummingbird cake. I am almost 70 and I can say it was one of the best meals I have ever had! I liked that their booths had backs probably 7 ft high so it was like our own private area. We could actually hear! Our server was so efficient and personable. All in all a perfect dining experience!

Our server was a bit absent minded and clumsy. One of the food runners dropped half of one of the table guests dinner on the floor and no attempt at all was made to replace the missing food or even clean up the food dropped on the floor. The ambience was nice but where are larger table was placed put one of the guest right in an aisle way and the back of her chair was pushed and knocked throughout the dinner. There aren’t a lot of fine dining places on Amelia Island so for that reason I would recommend the restaurant. But I don’t think I would go again on my next trip to the island.

Food and atmosphere were very good. They accommodated our unplanned change from a party of 4 adults to 6 adults plus an infant with only 3 hours notice, and were pleasant even when the additional 2+infant arrived 45 minutes late. The server remained professional throughout. Very much appreciated.

What a pleasant surprise. Friend invited us to dinner and we had a fantastic meal. Although the restaurant became very busy, we never felt rushed or unattended to. The dinner choices among our group was shrimp and grits, filet and house special flounder. We ordered salad and the bone marrow special appetizer. Great detail in the presentation of everything delivered to the table. All of the meal was delicious.

The food is fabulous. Servings are large. But it took quite some time to arrive. The specials are pricey but very good. The decor is beautiful but I wish they would have used some sound buffering materials. It is quite noisy inside.

The restaurant filled up pretty quickly. It was our first time dining here and we took some time to look at the menu which seemed to irritate our server who was not very friendly. Food was mediocre. The filet was not seasoned and had stringy pieces of fat. They would not serve asparagus as side by itself indicating they didn’t have enough in the kitchen. The server recommended the brussel sprouts which came out over-crispy (burnt) and doused in salt. We were not asked how our food tasted. I had to ask the server if I could get an order of brussel sprouts that were not burnt. She said she would ask the kitchen not to cook them as long and then returns with a dish that looks just like the first, still overcooked. Again we were not asked how our food was and when she saw that I had not eaten the brussel sprouts she asked if she could box them up. I spoke to the woman who identified herself as the owner on my way out and shared my less than desirable experience. She just sat there on the stool expressionless, never apologized, never offered to make things better and essentially blamed the server for the experience and said she should know better and that she would talk to her.

I would not recommend going here.

It’s always a pleasure at Laniappe. I was a little disappointed because the main reason I went was for the calamari and it wasn’t available.

Lagniappe is this fantastic little something extra on the island. Truly lives up to it's name and always a pleasurable night out with friends a family. Highly recommend for a planned formal evening out and probably no flip flops and tank tops allowed--it is truly a wonderful experience that you will appreciate the value and the quality. Top Tier!

Our group sat in a booth and it felt like we had a private room! The high backs really dampen the sound of the other diners! Tim our waiter was very attentive and the food was in generous portions and delivered in a timely manner. The restaurant was full of diners, which speaks volumes, as it was a weekday . What a gem on the island...so glad we found this treasure and plan to keep this on our go to list.

Great New Restaurant located in the front strip Mall of Harris Teeter Grocery. Always Good food and fresh seafood steak selection. Mussel app delicious and enough to share or have for an entre. Many good options for everyone. Waitress was nice and knowledgeable however, pushy to place our menu selection order. Awkward! Restaurant was not full. 6:00pm was our reservation.

This is my husband's go to spot for date night. Service is always great and the food is beyond amazing. We have NEVER had anything we did not like here. I am a creature of habit and always get the calamari (the best I have ever had) and the shrimp and grits. My husband likes to get the Chef's specials. Whatever you decide to eat it will be great!

Usually best crab cakes in Florida, but this time definitely lacking in lumps of crabmeat. Still very tasty! Great booth, staff is wonderful. The a/c vent in the ceiling above the booth blew right down on our table, which was a little uncomfortable. It’s a great place, w delicious seafood and an interesting & creative menu. Love the later dinner hours, too. Highly recommend!

I’d first went for dinner and it was amazing. I then decided to take my Mom to brunch this past Sunday. 1. The waitress had too many tables. 2. When she sat down my fiancé plate the biscuit and toppings flew onto the table (accident). She went and got a new biscuit and it was FROZEN! 3. Brunch food was bland and not a lot of good choices. Hardees would have been better.

Offered gift card for payment was informed it had been used. As we had not used it we're directed to Melanie who stated the computer didn't lie so I guess we were? Purchaser initiated an investigation and was informed by the owner that the card had been used the night before I attempted to use it for brunch. Strange huh. I can assure you I wasn't there the night before. Very poorly handled not certain what happened but we are out the card which I still have in my possession. Would not recommend this place. Very poor customer service. I don't have to lie about a gift card.
