We loved the food and the service we received was fantastic. The only downside was the atmosphere - it was vastly different from the food and service (loud music, bar feeling). Maybe it’s just us but it seemed a shamw
We booked L'Affaire for a small group of our friends after our legal wedding at Wandsworth Town Hall. We had a fabulous time. The service was fantastic; the right amount of attentive and very warm and hospitable. The food was very good, nicely done, decently priced and a good quantity that didn't leave you too full or thinking that it was too sparse. The place was very quiet which might have been great for us, but actually it feels a bit sad that such a nice venue is not busier. We live very close so we'll be back for Sunday Lunch...regularly. Thanks guys.
Everything was absolutely amazing, the food, the server and drinks but it was so cold inside the building. My friend and I were shivering and the food got cold pretty quickly.
Very tasty roast... a little on the cold side but nice none the less
Delicious food at a reasonable price. Best restaurant in Wandsworth.
EXCELLENT FOOD AND WINE. SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE BUSY AS IT WAS A SATURDAY NIGHT WITH DINERS.
The food was fair but not amazing and it was deadly quiet before 8pm. Desserts were better than mains.
We were sick with the food. 🤮
All the rest of this restaurant was good.
Great bar & food was superb, no hesitation in recommending
We've now been to L'Affaire 4 times and we have always had a really good experience. It's become one of our favourite cocktails bars in Wandsworth and Putney.
The food is well prepared and delicious, the cocktails are excellent, and service has been good. It's a slightly expensive restaurant for the area, but you do get good quality and a touch of French authenticity. The restaurant is nice and quiet until about 8:30, when it gets slightly louder, but still remains quiet enough for a good date night.
We highly recommend L'Affaire and are looking forward to returning for another date night.
The service was very friendly and the food was really fantastic. We went at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon so it was a little quiet, but was really happy to have found somewhere that served proper meals (not just sandwiches etc) and we couldn’t fault our meals - had the duck which was superb. Will definitely return.
Great food. Hidden gem in Wandsworth
Amazing food! Great ambiance! What’s more to say? :)
Great pub quiz on a Tuesday evening
Food and service were great but there was a massive party that night with a Dj playing terrible music. Couldn’t hear anything above the music. It was like having dinner in a nightclub.
Only negative was that I wanted everything on the menu, food was superb! Every dish tasted fantastic! I would thoroughly recommend eating here!!!!
Went for Sunday lunch. Food was stunning. Staff very welcoming. Lovely place! Kid friendly. Will definitely go back!
Unpretentious and delicious food. Imaginative cocktails. An all round special experience.
Food was amazing..all three courses were delicious as were the cocktails. Food tasted almost too good for the the very casual atmosphere.
Enjoyed a fantastic evening ! Both food and service were excellent. Cocktails in the garden are a must!
Once again many thanks for a great evening!
I normally pop in to L’affaire when in Wandsworth for their potted crab which is lovely so going in for lunch on a Sunday was a new experience and one I will repeat. I had the duck and my partner had the pork roast which was generous in portion and delicious (he reported). My duck was cooked to perfection and well presented; I enjoyed every morsel. I then had the warm pear frangipani which although not warm was very tasty and generously portioned. My partner had the chocolate soufflé which was not as chocolatly as I presumed it would be but also not sickly sweet so nicely done in my opinion. I will definitely return and would recommend to my chums.
I took my mum to L’Affaire for Easter Sunday lunch. Staff were super friendly. Liked the look of the place. Food was outstanding. Pimento calamari - super thin sliced - honestly the best I’ve ever had. Soft and beautifully seasoned - followed by beef stroganoff - again beautifully seasoned and beef chopped v small so v melt in the mouth. Mum had potted crab - with crushed avocado at the bottom ... nice twist. That was followed by the salmon bought by the chef the day before. Nice few glasses of Picpoul wine. Will definitely go again and thinking of booking for xmas dinner. Good value for money. X
Very attentive staff and we'll presented food.
Tasty and good value for London priced eatery.
Disappointing Sunday lunch, nothing special, beef was raw not rare. Won’t return and wouldn’t recommend. Far better places out there to spend hard earned cash.
We celebrated Mother’s Day at L’affaire. The menu was filled with good choices and we admired the plates being served to the other diners. The staff were friendly, each dish was explained to us as it arrived at our table. The wine was a littte expensive, although the £24 bottle we ordered was very pleasant. Overall, a lovely afternoon. And most importantly, my mum enjoyed herself!!
I guarantee that like me, most people have driven past this venue without a second thought. To make it worse when you drive past it gives the appearance of being closed. Rest assured it is not.
We decided to give it a try and were very pleasantly surprised. The space is large though not cosy. Since it is not tied to a brewery the owners have done their best to impose their personal stamp. They brew their own beer on site :0) and have an a collection of gins that will bring a smile to a connoisseur ....I did.
The menu is interesting - try the delicious 'paprika squid', and the quality of the food is far superior to your usual pub food....good value as well.
We have taken friends and everyone has been impressed....need I say more.
We’ve eaten here a couple of times and haven’t been disappointed yet. The food and wine choice is great. The service is great, that may have something to do with it being very quiet which surprised me for a Friday. I would recommend for the food though!
Nice Valentine's meal.
Slightly inbthe expensive side for this style of Venue. Enjoyable, experience. Steak was delicious. My Partner had past dish which was slightly cold but it was resolved very quickly with fresh portion. Perhaps both mains coukd have been taken back though at it meant we could not enjoy our main together. Other than this all was well.
Open Table states there was the regular menu and a special Valentine’s Day dinner. The restaurant said that was a mistake and the servers complained about that miscommunication. Then the manager complained to each table that OpenTable was supposed to take a deposit and didn’t, not my problem.
Seven of us met for dinner here. Simply fabulous. The food was excellent and service superb. Hope to go back very soon.
Food fairly good and service great. Ambience however isn’t great, big empty bar.
Great food with fast and friendly staff, definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood
The starter of sliced duck was nice, but barely warm. The main course of turbot was awful. Tasteless, bland sauce, poor cuts of the fish, full of bones. Basically inedible.
Although the service was pleasant, it was very poor. I asked (and pointed to the menu) for a glass of a particular red wine and was bought a glass of white. There were other problems, too many to mention.
One of those restaurants who sell themselves as fine food, but don't have the chef's skills or service to fulfil their goal
Great food, nice atmosphere and quiet - overall really recommend!
Had a Sunday roast, was a nice venue, good service and the food was good value for money although I felt the food lacked seasoning.
Lovely waitress, excellent food and would recommend within a heartbeat!
Great food and service!
Great new addition to the neighbourhood. Lovely fresh food served in comfortable surroundings by friendly and helpful staff. Thanks for a cracking Sunday roast. Will be back.
Went here with my wife for our wedding anniversary, and were very glad we did so. It is quite a large restaurant, so not an obviously romantic venue. However, the service was good - quick and friendly - and above all the food was excellent. The cheese souffle my wife had was to die for; and both our duck and lamb main courses were prepared to perfection.
All that, coupled with a decent wine list, an in-house craft beer, and reasonable prices, make 'L'Affaire' a must-visit restaurant in the area. Our only surprise was that it was not busier - though this was an advantage for us, looking for a quiet romantic evening.
We booked L'Affaire for a Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant is lovely, with a great ambiance and relaxing music played in the background. The food was lovely and staff very attentive, but not intrusive. Overall we had a lovely afternoon and it is a great place for sunday lunches for families with small children or babies. There is a great selection of wines, cocktails and the stake was cooked to perfection. Not very cheap, but good food portions and loads to choose from. Will definetly book again as there is also so much variety, lovely seating areas, great designs and very spacious!!
