Ladurée is a world-renowned French luxury patisserie, founded in Paris in 1862. The acclaimed house rose into fame with their exquisite selection of viennoiseries and pastries – most notably, however, for their creation of the macaron.

Described as a biscuit with a delicate and crisp shell with a smooth ganache or jam filling, they come in a variety of classical and creative flavours. Ladurée’s macarons are often not mixed with more than two or three flavours to give each macaron a more pronounced taste.

Accompanying the Boutique, their traditional Parisian tea room offers irresistible culinary delights in a setting inspired by historic France, allowing Ladurée to extend their unique experience of the French art of living.

Quaint and welcome escape from shopping in "Canada's premier shopping mall", Yorkdale, although we did not go there for the shopping - just the tea. The price we paid was for two people, and so was the food - about half per person of what you get in a 'proper' tea. But the glass of champagne and the couple of items we added at extra cost made up for it, and overall it was still good value. Quiet too, which we liked, and the service was prompt but unobtrusive, which we also liked. The teas we chose were French, not English, although still based on black tea; the flavours though were clearly French, very floral and sweet (not to be confused with sugary), and they needed no milk or cream. Overall a very pleasant experience; we would go again.

We were seated on time for our 12:15 reservations. No one came to us until 1:00. It wasn’t even that busy. Couldn’t even make eye contact with anyone.

We’ve been here for afternoon tea many many times now. The last couple times it hasn’t been as good as it used to be. And this past time is the last time I’ll be going there. They removed an entire course from the tea. So now for the same price of $75.00, you get two macarons, some stale tarts, and a piece of cake. No more sandwiches or side cookies. I’ve been to lots of afternoon teas, and this one is officially the worst. The food is stale, the service is highly lacking, and the missing sandwich course is a joke. Also they were entirely out of half the cakes on the menu, so you could only really choose from 3 cakes instead of like 7. I would expect a lot more for $75.00 a person. It was 10am when we got there, so it’s not like they just sold out for the day already since we were first table. Save your money and go elsewhere for a proper tea; with fresh food, sandwiches, and actual selection of things.

Beautiful setting and delicious food! Service was a little slow but very pleasant and helpful. Expensive for what you get but you already know this when you decide to eat here- great for special celebrations. The raspberry French toast was fresh and sweet- a real stand out dish!
