Horrible service. Two of the four guests in my party ordered the tea service (tea time) and the other two ordered meals off of the menu. We received the meals and waited to eat until the other two were served the tea service. The tea service never came. Not once were we asked if everything was ok, or if we needed anything else. After about 45 minutes we flagged down the waitress about the tea service, and she seemed to know very little English. It became obvious that she never placed the order, even though they pointed to the item on the menu. We paid for the meals that came and left hungry.
Was very disappointed in the food and with one of the servers. The food was close to cold when it arrived which really detracted from its taste. The staff member who filled the water glasses acted as if we had offended her. Still love the macarons but will never go there again for anything other than those. Maybe it would be better if they did away with the dining and just kept the bakery.
Overpriced and poor value. Lobster “sandwiche” was actually 3 mini brioches that were dry and hard (stale?), with a teaspoon of lobster salad on top. The accompanying French fries were soggy and Luke warm. For $23, I felt ripped off. My daughters trio of assorted pastries also disappointing as it consisted of three mini croissants, differentiating the plain one only by a drizzle of honey/glaze on one, and tiny amount of chocolate inside the third one . She also got two slices of French bread. Not worth $16. Will not be returning to dine. However, we bought macaroons in the pastry shop below, and they were spectacular! Fresh and delicious - loved the Pineapple, Peach, Lemon and Pistachio flavors!
My sliders & French fries looked better than they tasted. French fries were dry as were the sliders. My friends rosti chicken was very good. Our waiter started off great but than he disappeared. We stopped getting any service at all. The patio dining is lovely surrounded by the park & fountain at the Grove. I have eaten here before & it’s usually better.
While the food was good it was served almost cold. Food should come out piping hot. While service was polite and friendly it was terribly slow.
Unfortunately… This restaurant is trying to create a French bistro atmosphere in the middle of the Frenetic Grove Court, Yard. Just doesn’t work. Staff struggles to accommodate the guests, food quality is mediocre… At best, service is sporadic, and overall value is not good. Really was a disappointment.
First time to eat at The Grove and enjoyed the outdoor seating. We were lucky to have a live band playing during dinner which added to the meal. We had the mini burgers and the pasta with chicken which tasted okay. Dessert was very good and the Bordeaux wine selection was tasty. Overall, a great experience especially for a mall atmosphere.
Fantastic service from Anziz and impeccable meal!
The waitress was very bad. It took for anything. We said for a good 30 mins before we got helped. And was not on top of it on water (hot day that day). Then waited way too long for our check, end up having to go up to the hostess. It was not busy at all the time when we went
Food was amazing.
My husband had the filet mignon, my son had the mini burgers and I had the chicken.
For dessert we ordered three different ones, my favorite was the rose cake.
The staff was very friendly, but didn't check in after food was served and were facing away from diners so hard to flag them.
Lobster roll was the tiniest thing I've ever seen--a bite sized piece of bread with something dry on it. Chocolate croissant was also very tiny with no chocolare in sight.
Nice to people watch, but too expensive for the quality of food.
Service was sketchy, although there was one woman who seemed to be out managing all the tables on her own, even though we know there were at least two other servers, one of whom was ours. Food was dry, the chicken, and burgers overdone. The desserts were great.
The entire experience was very enjoyable. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. You're outside at The Grove, so there is a lot of activity all around, but none is distracting.
Splendid! Beautiful pastries and hot cocoa. Ate out on the patio.
Our dinners were dry and over cooked. We were so disappointed. Fortunately, dessert was great.
Great food! Great service! We’ll definitely be back!
We loved the food but wished we had better service. Also I had mentioned it was a special occasion and they never Acknowledged that.
Laduree at The Grove is nestled in a beautiful setting and brings a bit of Parisian charm to LA.
The rose ice cream is a dream and the macarons are a must.
It was a French restaurant and all the servers spoke french! The ambiance was quiet and comforting. They went above and beyond our expectations! My daughter's birthday was perfect because of their accommodations! Spectacular service!!!
Food and service are amazing !
We had a wonderful lunch under the umbrellas beneath the trees. Gorgeous trees, a little bridge and a little waterfall. Great for photos too.
The food was so bad, the lemonade was bad, the hot chocolate was bad! They ran out of eggs so couldn’t make avocado toast! How can a restaurant with a bakery run out of eggs? I would never ever come back and it was a waste of $100! Do not eat here!
Finally got to sit inside the restaurant for once, been waiting a whole year and I'm so glad. The food was a little different to me from when I came here last year to celebrate my birthday with my handsome babe. He wanted to make sure it was special as it was last year so he took me here again. We got a great view upstairs closest to where you can see the glass windows and look down and see the macarons. As for the food I think i prefer the lunch menu than the dinner menu. I would love to come back to try the brunch and afternoon tea. I order the 3 mini burgers for dinner and it was good but I wish the meat was more well done. I honestly love the macarons from Laduree more than any other place i go to. The only place I buy macarons is Laduree, and I will always come back.
Service took a little time but overall had a good experience.
Outdoor seating only. Was not expecting that. Everything was good but nothing to make this exceptional.
Lovely location - great food and even better desserts and hot chocolate!
Experience was great. We were really taken care of for my daughter's 13th birthday breakfast celebration!
I love this place, service was kind of slow , food was delicious, it was so beautiful inside.
The actual food menu was pretty basic, I wanted to experience MACARONS. The selection was small, but most were very tasty. Chocolate was the flavor of a fudge brownie, rose, lavender and orange blossom were expectedly floral but pleasing. Stawberry Marshmallow was deliciously fruity. Good experience.
Afternoon tea at Lauderee The Grove was an underwhelming, disappointing experience. Instead of being seated in the cute dining room for afternoon tea, we got the "dining in a mall" experience outside. The tea sandwiches were unappetizing, the madeleine was oily and flavorless, and the other pastries were mediocre. We had better macarons in the airport that morning. The only thing we *really* enjoyed was the tea, so we will not be back.
Salmon was ok but steak is not flavorful. Good portions for dieters. Dinner seating is limited to outdoors. It’s a nice setting.
The setting, under shade trees next to a pond, was spectacular on a sunny Southern California day. Great place to take out-of-towners for a taste of life in L.A. at its best. The menu works for
me as a glimpse of French food, but the Crouque Monsieur was not fully cooked, and lukewarm when served, and the salad dressing was tasteless. Loved having a glass of Sancerre with my
lunch. The decor of the shop was elegant, and the pastries beautiful to look at. After Jonathan Gold's article on the best pastry chef in the world, I was disappointed that there was not more
variety, although mine was very good. I think the owners of Laduree are taking it global, and
they'll probably make a pot of money, but the elegance is only skin deep. Paris it's not. But a
great place to celebrate good living in SouthernCalifornia.
Great experience overall. Very attentive staff. Really nice manager. Burgers overcooked a bit but the were mini sliders so we understood.
Loved this place! The ambiance was fantastic and the traditional french food was refined and sublime.
The staff was so kind and accommodating for my birthday party. Wonderful menu with gorgeous desserts. We loved our brunch and can’t wait to go back!
Disappointed is all that I can say about my first visit to Laduree. From lack of service to mediocre food, we were disappointed and underwhelmed with what we had imagined dining experience would be at Laduree. It took at least ten minutes for anyone to come by the table to take order and even then, they got the order wrong. And they don’t even validate for parking for dinner dining! So disappointed to have driven almost two hours to eat dinner here. What a wasted excitement it was for my friends and I...
What a charming spot at The Grove. I have wanted to go to the original Laduree in Paris so when I found this location in LA I was excited to bring my mom and my daughter to celebrate my mom's birthday on our girls' day out. When I made the reservation I commented that it was for a birthday and even during the reservation confirmation the gentleman I spoke with mentioned that it was for a birthday. I was a bit disappointed that our server made no mention of a birthday during our lunch. There was nothing said or done to make the experience special for my mom to celebrate her day. Our server was not very service oriented or attentive, which was too bad, but our overall experience was wonderful. The food was delicious and just the right portions so the lunch plates did not feel overwhelming with too much food. We had the Avocado Toast, Lobster Rolls and Burger Sliders and they were all delicious. The Laduree Kir Royal with rose petals were stunning and tasted as good as they looked. The true test was in the macarons we ordered to take home....they did not disappoint.
Service was atrocious. Coffee came out cold. They never refilled water. I had to get up to get check and get up to give check back. Server was super slow. Food was ok but nothing great. If I am spending $200 on lunch I would hope service to be decent. We asked for umbrella to be put up. It never happened. Not enough menus to begin with. No one was standing at host stand. Staff looked disillusioned. Will never return. I never minded price point but I can certainly spend $200 at a more deserving place.
Very disappointed with the service and waste of money , not the same as in Paris,
I’ve been to other Ladurée before and this experience has been my least favorite. The service was lacking and there was no consistency in their branding for lack of a better word. I probably wouldn’t return to this location. Ladurée is one of my favorite places to go on vacation whether it be in Europe or in the United States. This location slacks that je ne sais quoi that draws me to Ladurée.
