Ladurée The Grove
I'll recommend Laduree , the food is good and good ambiance
The outdoor seating was nice. The food was okay, not worth the high price tag. They also got our order wrong, they forgot to give us our finger sandwiches and mini pastries. We had to ask them for it.
We took my neice for her birthday and the staff at Ladurée made her day so special. She is a shy girl so it was wonderful to see her so happy and engaged with the experience. She loved everything and ate everything (a first!) and the rest of the family also loved the experience.
Overall we were let down by this dining experience. For a famous name and all the expectations that come with it, this iteration of Laduree did not do it justice.
I wish wish wish this was a different review! I was so ready to tell all my friends to come and to return again myself. Maybe one more time in case this was a fluke. I hope.
Not the restaurants fault at all but there was a guy seated behind us who kept talking to us and was being rude to his date. He made my daughter feel uncomfortable.
Wait staff handled it great and they were helpful, polite and very nice.
Maybe our expectations were too high but it was very much an average mall restaurant experience.
Overpriced for what it was.
Just like the one in Paris
Server was accommodating. Ambiance was great. Love all the dessert options.
I booked a reservation for my mother for a surprise Mother’s Day treat. I called the place beforehand and gave an employee (Julian) my credit card info so that I could pay for my mom’s meal since I wasn’t able to join her in LA. I remember asking for confirmation on how my info would be handled and definitely didn’t want to end up paying for the wrong table’s meal. He said they would take care of it for me.
They ended up not using any of the credit card info I gave them and charged my mom instead. She asked them again just to be sure and they said that the credit card on file was just to hold the reservation—which was completely inaccurate! I called on my own to provide this information and they didn’t even use it. I am very disappointed and also gravely concerned about what instead happened to my credit card info. Also, I feel pretty embarrassed having gone through such lengths to try and treat my mom and have it not work out as planned. Not recommending this place, not coming back, maybe try the other locations for better service.
We decided to have brunch at Ladurée on Easter Sunday and were seated at one of the outdoor, shaded tables. My daughter & I shared a few items. We ordered the scrambled egg/salmon/avocado toast, a lobster Caesar salad, and the French toast with raspberry coulis & rose Chantilly cream. The avocado toast & Caesar salad were both good, nice size portions, and there was a decent amount of lobster in the salad. The French toast was delicious. My husband ordered the lobster roll and French onion soup and enjoyed both. We also purchased some macarons to go. The service was friendly, but not very attentive as no one offered to refill our drinks or water the entire time. Overall, the food was quite good and the ambiance is really nice and the macarons are very tasty.
Birthday trip to LA - they even treated me to a plate of macorons to celebrate! Brought back happy memories of Paris!
The food was ok -
Sadly, service was amiss that day. Had to flag down a server to take our order then a few of the items never arrived. We did not pay for the items, so no problem. Just not attentive service.
We had a nice time though and the mock tails and pastry were tasty. My daughter loves this place, so I am sure we will be back.
I went here for my 18 birthday and I absolutely loved it! The food was amazing and the desserts were so yummy! I had the rose latte, it so cute and pink! The atmosphere was so springy and cozy.
A delightful taste of Paris in SoCal! Delicious croque monsieur and onion soup!
When we made the reservations we didn’t know Laduree didn’t have indoor seating at the Grove. It’s outdoors and very compact. It’s also right next to the lawn area where we had someone changing a diaper right beside our table and someone else who brought a dog potty pad and laid it out for all 3 of their dogs to go to the restroom on while lounging on the grass. Needless to say, none of us had an appetite being surrounded by this ambiance! The food was fine—nothing special. The iced tea was $7 for a lowball glass. Such a rip off!
The sun was out & we sat outside under the trees by a beautiful pond in a garden setting at lunchtime on a Sunday afternoon. Our food arrived on pastel pink & green China reflecting the colors of the dessert case, the quality was high as expected & delivered by wonderfully friendly servers. We loved it!
Great food service and overall experience.
So cute! And great service
Non, merci. This café was a disappointment as it looked a bit worn and the desserts are about 75% the size of those in Paris. Many of the macarons looked chipped or broken. Who wants to pay $2.80 a piece for a least than pretty macaron? Food in the café was acceptable but very overpriced. No, it’s not Paris, but you’d think a café in this region would try to maintain its reputation for the brand.
I came all the way from San Francisco to have my birthday tea time and I had bad a experience. I was cold and I wasn’t given the option but to eat outside. I had afternoon tea time and my 3 tier only had 2 tiers filled. I seen another person with 3 tiers full. I wasn’t given milk or sugar. By the time I asked for milk and sugar, my tea was already cold and they didn’t tell me if I can have a refill of tea. I’ve been highly anticipating on this experience for over a yr and it’s so sad I had to go back home with a horrible customer service. I wanted to love this place, but I felt the customer service could have been way better. Pls have better customer service.
Very nice setup at the outdoor garden, next to water, bridge, and trees. Food was good and service was friendly. Kind of slow but not too bad.
The service was terrible being said that Ladurée is a brand and for being located at the Grove. To begin with, we were sitting for about 20 minutes without being offered a glass of water. Then the server spilled all the beverages accidentally; however, it took them forever to deliver napkins/towels for clean up the customers’ outfit. It also took them another 20 minutes before they sent someone to clean up the disaster in the floor, and they continued to sit new customers in..... so the customers had to walk over the spilled drinks. Finally, very few apologies were given and they did not offer any discounts nor treats for the inconvenience and the fact that my cardigan has to be sent to dry clean :(
server was nice and friendly, but seemed new and somewhat slow on the uptake; we had to ask more than once for certain things. the chicken volante on the dine l.a. menu was tasty but a bit sludgy, as was the french onion soup--not enough liquid. the burrata was so-so--not sure what the big fuss is about this item, it's disappointing everywhere. warm bread was brought and helped. the champagne cocktail was excellent.
I did a dineLA date night here. From pictures of the building and setting the interior, I thought I would be dining inside as there are tables and chairs on the upstairs floor. However when were got there, there building itself was very small and they directed us outside for dining.
Inside looks like a very posh bakery. The upstairs dining area is very small but elegant as well, unfortunately I don't know why they closed it off, maybe it's for tea only. We dinner outside in an almost enclosed area in the center of the grove. It wasn't too cold and there were heat lamps. The scenery wasn't bad either but the area felt cramped.
Servers are nice and the food is decent French cuisine. The desserts and tea really stood out. I enjoyed that the most. It's on the more expensive side. It's a good place to take a date as you can walk around the area as well after eating. But I think their biggest selling point is their pastries and desserts.
Everything was perfect, but we were upset to find out our macaroons were placed in a bag and not in a box. They were stale the next day. Dinner and service was fabulous.
Waited for staff to help us indoors but didn't help until minutes later. We went outdoors to get seated but the server who was picking up dishes just ignored me and my mom and kept on picking up dishes. Waited for a long time and he didn't help us. Decided to go to the Sushi Grill instead. Very bad service.
We celebrated my daughter's 17th birthday January 1st. We received excellent service from Adriene and Aziz. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was tres magnifique and the scenery delightful. It made for a very beautiful and fun afternoon. I recommend the Brunch. It is so satisfying and you will have more than a few dainties to take home with you since they give generous portions.
A little bit Paris right in LA
New Year’s Eve
Wonderful and festive! Seated by the flowing "river"...beautiful Christmas tree, "SNOW" and food was excellent and delightful.
Always love to go there. Their outdoor seats are super pleasant and trás and food are very good. Also, the pastries in their bakery are phenomenal. It’s a cute pleasant place, perfect for a brunch! can’t wait to go again!
Terrible service and the food arrived cold.
I had a great time with my friends for my bday celebration. However the service was so so. The host sat us down outside but the waitress really didn’t check up on us. 3 other party’s left while we were still waiting for our bill or for someone to ask if we needed or wanted anything else. The bus boy cleaning both tables was very kind and friendly. He ended up bringing us our bill. Also around 5 pm they were out of a lot of pastries. The second option was also out that my friend ordered. I’m not sure if I will be back to this location.
Love this place! Best desserts!! Great service. I left my Gucci bag and they were kind enough to return it to me. Good people.
The food was not good. Stick with pastries and desserts. My cafe au lait was delicious.
Awesome! George is a great waiter!
Afternoon Tea Experience was Horrendous!
The service was terrible. It wasn't even busy, but for some reason the 2 waitresses on duty could not seem to handle the 4 parties. They would disappear for long stretches of time. In all, we spent about 1.5 hours at this place waiting on service, waiting for the manager, waiting to pay, etc.
The tea pots arrived with lukewarm tea. The only thing good on the tea tower were the macarons. Otherwise, the finger sandwiches and the madeleines were flat, cold and stale. The cakes might have been good, but we were so disgusted with the whole experience that we stopped eating because we didn't want to pay for the exhorbitant $39 per person price tag. The only correct thing that happened is that they agreed to not charge us for the horrible experience.
This place has totally missed the charm and expectation of afternoon tea. You don't get to charge $39 for stale food and slow, pokey service.
Horrible service. Two of the four guests in my party ordered the tea service (tea time) and the other two ordered meals off of the menu. We received the meals and waited to eat until the other two were served the tea service. The tea service never came. Not once were we asked if everything was ok, or if we needed anything else. After about 45 minutes we flagged down the waitress about the tea service, and she seemed to know very little English. It became obvious that she never placed the order, even though they pointed to the item on the menu. We paid for the meals that came and left hungry.
Was very disappointed in the food and with one of the servers. The food was close to cold when it arrived which really detracted from its taste. The staff member who filled the water glasses acted as if we had offended her. Still love the macarons but will never go there again for anything other than those. Maybe it would be better if they did away with the dining and just kept the bakery.
Overpriced and poor value. Lobster “sandwiche” was actually 3 mini brioches that were dry and hard (stale?), with a teaspoon of lobster salad on top. The accompanying French fries were soggy and Luke warm. For $23, I felt ripped off. My daughters trio of assorted pastries also disappointing as it consisted of three mini croissants, differentiating the plain one only by a drizzle of honey/glaze on one, and tiny amount of chocolate inside the third one . She also got two slices of French bread. Not worth $16. Will not be returning to dine. However, we bought macaroons in the pastry shop below, and they were spectacular! Fresh and delicious - loved the Pineapple, Peach, Lemon and Pistachio flavors!
