Amazing place, can’t say enough great things about their food and service.
Bing a terrific bartender and host...enjoyable dinner at the bar. Terrific lamb and veal meatballs w fresh pulled mozzarella
Food was good, but the waitress was not very helpful. My dining partner asked for recommendations and she told her it was all written on the menu. Parking is awful. I will not return unless there is valet parking available.
Overall the restaurant was good. We got seated late after waiting for over 15 min. The food came out almost 45 min to an hour. The food was very good though.
Love LaVolpe. Have had better and friendlier service than last night, but always a great time. Love the food. Chef made gluten free vegan pasta dish to share that another server had recommended another time. Absolutely love the atmosphere. A hidden gem in downtown.
Really enjoyed our evening at La Volpe. Menu was well rounded, service was great. We hadn’t seen our friends in a long time and our evening was leisurely-no pressure to eat and rush out. The only complaint I have is while the food was delicious-it was a little cold. I ordered the filet. My husband had the lamp chops. Our guests had the pork ragu and the swordfish-they did not comment of the food temperature. Regardless-we will go back!
The venison sauce in both our dishes was not good- what would have been a lovely ravioli was too salty, too meaty, not delicate- a simple olive oil would have been better.
Amazing food and service.
My parents came into town to treat me for my birthday dinner and I found this place. The restaurant is beautiful and the upstairs space looks nice, but everything else was just an incredibly unpleasant experience. Our food was not warm when it finally arrived and all the meat (short rib & lobster in particular) was totally overcooked and tough. When I ordered the mushroom pappardelle the server said it was “basic” and to be honest seemed disinterested in our table entirely—likely a bad night and also her first service gig. The dessert was also luke warm and the sauce was overpowering. All in all for a $400 meal we all were extremely non-plussed and honestly I was embarrassed for recommending the place. I was shocked to find out they have been open 1.5 years already and I’ve never heard of them....makes sense after no one else being there on a Thursday night and having the experience we did.
This place has the best risotto I’ve had in Austin, I would definitely go back for that and the mushroom parpadelle.
Our server, Brandon, was extraordinary. The food was unique and prepared perfectly. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had.
Amazing dinner. The food, ambiance and service was all incredible. Perfect way to celebrate New Years Eve!
We came in for New Year’s Eve. We were greeted at the table with complimentary Prosecco. Our waiter was super attentive and helpful. We were seated outside, but the heaters were ample and effective. We absolutely loved all we ate, but really enjoyed the swordfish and the meatballs.
La Volpe was a delight. Our server made us feel very special and the food was masterful.
So delicious!!! We were served the wrong course but it didn’t matter because it was delicious! Nice staff, cozy atmosphere
Food was quite good although the arugula salad that was promised with my meal turned out to be replaced with a Kale salad without ever asking if that would be ok
Moms birthday. They were so helpful in coordinating the surprise for her. The food was fantastic👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. We ordered and did family style sharing. Worked perfectly.
Favorites of the night: Shrimp & crab risotto and the Brussel sprouts
What a lovely find! Small charming restaurant right next to Cedar Door, with a wonderful knowledgeable server, great food, and excellent wine! We split an appetizer and each had a small plate - the scallops and gnocchi were both excellent and generous! The restaurant also has a lovely open air area we hope to try out next time.
Poor service. Server did not care.
Good ordinary. Not a special dinner.
Will not go again.
La Volpe was outstanding. I am a real foodie and everything was freshly made, plated beautiful and excellent service from our waitress. It was a Wed. and we got half priced bottles of wine and got a delicious appetizer during Happy Hour. It is a beautiful place and they had live jazz upstairs. I live in San Antonio but I will be back.
Great food with a great setting for a quiet elegant meal
We were early to dinner and decided to order from the Happy Hour Menu. It offered many dishes. We ordered the cauliflower, the mushroom pasta, the bread, calamari, the meatballs and the panna cotta. Overall we found the food to be heavy with sauces - all overdone. The cauliflower was saturated in a rich cheese sauce, the mushroom sauce was heavy in oils, the calamari was fried but not crisp, we liked the meatballs. The panna cotta was heavy with fried rosemary, basil, hard peaches and other seasonings. The main portions would easily serve 4 people - fortunately we were sitting at a 4 table or the large bowls would not have fit on the table. We were expecting happy hour sizes that usually serves 2 people. Overall the food was heavy - not fresh and light like people like. These would have been popular 20 years ago. A year ago when we had happy hour there we were very impressed with the food. Overall we were disappointed, great location, attractive and good service - the food is not up our likes.
If you are offered the pigs head ravioli do not hesitate! It took ravioli to a whole new place.
Liked it! Will be back!
Great wine list and food was superb! Recommend scallop small plate, grilled romaine salad mushroom pappardelle entre and roasted cauliflower side. 3 women shared this were full but not too stuffed! They also have a beautiful outdoor (mostly covered) space for great weather days!!
Friendly alert service, flavor rich food good price.
Fabulous food, and this is about my 4th time. The meatballs are fantastic and the lasagna is to die for. The service is really good, which it often isn’t in Austin, and the decor has loads of charm, with brick walls and a lovely patio courtyard. Well worth every penny and will be back again for sure.
This place!!!!! Just wow. I don’t even know enough adjectives to describe how much I love this restaurant!
Great little place - we split the lasagna bolognese and the caprese salad. More than enough for 2. Several beers on tap, which is a huge plus in my book. I would say go soon because this place will be much more crowded once the word gets out.
We had the lobster ravioli. Pieces of shell were found in the dish. We still enjoyed our dinner and will give them another try when we are in town.
Best brunch had in a while. Service was great, drinks where great
Great place! Webhad the mushroom pasta and the pork chop-we would order them again. Try and get there for happy hour and try out a few drinks also.
My new favorite restaurant in Austin!! Great friendly staff and the food is so good! We had dinner (mushroom pappardelle and lasagna Bolognese) and we lived it so much we change back for brunch. It was only their second day of brunch but the menu is fantastic. You have to try the lobster Benedict!
Sunday brunch - both indoor & outdoor seating
$3 mimosas & poinsettias
Lobster eggs Benedict excellent but expensive at $22 - no other versions avail
Side of fruit $5 - small bowl
Very friendly staff!
Cool multi-level venue
No easy parking
The food and cocktails were great. I was shocked that it wasn't totally full of people. The scallops crudo were our favorite of everything we ordered. Very delicious. I would whole heartedly recommend.
La Volpe is a very nice, quiet place to enjoy a quality meal with a special someone in your life.
I had great hopes for La Volpe and the space is fun, including some great outdoor space. Our server was fun and attentive but was sometimes hard to hear. The food was a disappointment for the cost. The pork chop was the best of all our plates but the glaze was soupy instead of thick. Land was ok but not much flavor. The lobster ravioli had pieces of shell in both servings. 3 of the five ordered drinks and the bill with tip was $350. For that cost, it should have been better than mediocre.
One of the most beautiful interior decorated buildings in downtown Austin. Food was edgy, and sometimes not typical Italian food, so be prepared. Overall, a very good tasting experience.
Excellent food excellent service. Beautiful space. Will be going back this week.
