This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed - We are the only AUTHENTIC Argentine Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. Come and enjoy the real Argentine steaks cooked and smoked over the grill with pure mezquite hardwood coals. You will find the very best empanadas you ever tried. Even when La Virundela is an Argentinean restaurant very well known because of the beef steaks, we also have a wide offer for VEGETARIANS like our famous "Veggie Grill" or the delicious "Grilled Mushrooms". As well as the Argentinean cuisine is a fusion with the cuisine from some countries in Europe like Italy, Spain, France, England and with influences from the Arabian cuisine, we do not use hot chilis neither strong spices. You will enjoy the very best tastes and balanced soft flavors in every steak or veggie dish.

Todo fue excelente, decidí reservar para festejar el 5to aniversario de bodas con mi esposa y nos llevamos una grata sorpresa con la calidad de los alimentos y la atención por parte de la propietaria y de los colaboradores, sin duda lo recomiendo ampliamente, los precios son acordes a la calidad de los alimentos, el restaurante fue única y exclusivamente para nosotros.

Gran detalle de la casa para el festejo con un mousse de avellana, chocolate y pistache.

We came to Virundela with positive expectations. The wine we wanted from the wine list was not available. The salad was mediocre. The beef was average and the empanadas were below average ... and the gnocchi was not edible beyond belief. We spent $3000 Pesos for four people with tip. We will not be back.

Una grata sorpresa! Comimos en el área de la terraza entre árboles y una linda fuente. Muy agradable y privado. La comida excelente, sobre todo el postre! Los mejores churros q hemos probado. Pero lo mejor fue el servicio, desde los meseros hasta el chef, nos hicieron sentir muy especiales. Muchas gracias!! Seguro que volvemos!!

Although reviews vary, the current rating of prompted us to give it a try. Honestly, we have seldom found a cut of meat here on town so we have high expectations. We were surprised at the quality. Not but good and the mushrooms with blue cheese sauce (more of a grating of blue cheese) was very good. Nor to to overpower the mushroom taste. The staff was , the young chef truly interested in the and the owner truly delightful.
I got the flank steak and husband the rib eye. I the flank and in my opinion was as good at a better price.
We'll be back.

My husband insisted on steak one night so I chose La Virundela from the many recommendations. There could not be a better steak restaurant in town! Started
With delicious cold margaritas, apps were grilled mushrooms with blue cheese that
In retrospect could have shared and I had grilled provolone with sun dried tomatoes
And kalamata olives. Both of us had the rib eyes and yes if you want medium rare
Ask for medium. They were beautifully seasoned and tender. Finished with a refreshing
Cucumber sorbet. I wished we had save room for dessert because they sounded fantastic.
If you can eat in the courtyard under the orange trees. It was a perfect evening!

My wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary here last weekend. LaVirundela has great food, great service (Alex), and a charming, intimate atmosphere. The owner makes sure you are welcome, and well taken care of. We will return here every time we are in SMA.

This place was highly recommended, but was very disappointing. We had to wait for 1.5 hours for our meals that were just salads and steaks. The steak was OK, but nothing to rave about and the rest of the dishes were small, expensive and not particularly appealing. Compared to other similar restaurants in San Miguel this place doesn't make the grade.

They seemed like nice people, but didn't deal with the situation at all well.
