One of the most authentic Italian restaurants we've ever patronized. Excellent food, well-prepared and presented, both familiar favorites and not-so-familiar dishes. Service was attentive and courteous, without being overbearing. A bit pricey but well worth it. An excellent choice for special occasions and for ordinary occasions that you'd like to make special. We'll be back.

This place is a hidden, locals gem. I wish I had learned about it earlier. I have been here a few times now and I have never been disappointed. Excellent steaks and the best pasta in town.

Waiter was the real problem and how he acted at the end. Taking away our drinks so we could not talk to each other because of the tip. He came back with the check and asked for me to put in the total. Then exclaimed ‘that much!?’ aloud. … We had heard about his place for years. It’s been always a curious recommendation. But now I just don’t know if we ever can go back. *Plates were not warmed for the bread and the fish special.

This wasn't our first visit, but we took friends who had not been before. They were so pleased. They repeatedly said they would be coming back again. The food, as always, was exceptional; not only in taste, but presentation. Service is professional, polite and efficient. And I love that it isn't downtown. It's set in a residential area. A GEM of a restaurant

La Violetta is in my opinion hands down the best restaurant in Sarasota. I travel to Italy frequently and there’s nothing more authentic!

I always give this restaurant 5 stars but Saturday night everything seemed off. It was our son and daughter in laws anniversary and even though I mentioned it on the reservation and to our server no one even said Happy Anniversary to them. It took forever for our server to take a drink order and the same for dinner. She had no knowledge of wines and overcharged us for an extra lobster pasta dish which we did not have. Our grand daughter’s steak came without truffles and covered in rosemary. Just not the usual attention to detail we have seen here in the past. We will try again in the Fall and hope things are as they had been for past visits.

Our favorite Italian Restaurant in the entire state! It’s a charming experience with the freshest of ingredients and service. Owned and operated by an Italian couple with high standards. There is nothing that good in the state of Florida. The truffles are always a thrill to order up with the homemade mouth-watering pasta. The meats are the finest. And the pistachio crème brûlée is perfection.

I went to La Violetta restaurant in December for a birthday dinner. I found it excellent at the time so decided to go there for my birthday last night. It was one of my better decisions 😊 Our table was ready for our reservation when we got there on time. The food was utterly amazing. Their regular menu is great, but the chef’s daily specials are unbelievable. The place is not cheap, but the portions are more than adequate. Sharing appetizers around the table is important or you will not have room for your dinner! The chef sent out a beautiful flatbread to complement our evening and it also was magnificent It is safe to say this will become one of my favorite places to go for celebrations
