La Violette Market and Kitchen
The meal,as usual, was excellent. Unfortunately, they are closing from their current location;and moving to a new location. Information will be forthcoming as to date and location of reopening. Look forward to visiting at new location. I have been a customer from the beginning when they were La Scarpetta and have enjoyed their food for a few years. The homemade pasta is always a treat, and the veal dishes are better than most of the places in Sarasota. .Sorry,I'm a spoiled New Yorker and I grew up eating veal cutlets. They know how to cook fish so it's not over cooked and I have had a bowl of soup for dinner on those late nights when a meal is too much
Look for the re-opening,it's a real treat and I'm reluctant to tell everyone how good La Violetta is,it's difficult enough getting a reservation!
Authentic & absolutely delicious! A local treasure.
Love the place. Always delicious
Exceptional dining experience with the most authentic Italian food! Definitely our favorite local spot for a taste of Italy.
Our first time there. Definitely will be coming back. Food quality was great and authentic, service was spot on. For what you got, quality and quantity price was reasonable. Great experience!
LOVE La Violetta ! Quickly became one of our favorite restaurants in a city full of great options. Unassuming location, easy parking, lovely service, authentic cuisine, did a great job with social distancing. They will be moving to a new location so make sure you follow them.
Great intimate spot where you can enjoy authentic Italian food with fantastic service.
Great ambiance, food and service! Thank you!
One of our all time favorites!
The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable! It is a quaint place and they had tables distanced and staff wore masks! The food is always consistent and we enjoy it greatly!
Excellent food with a varying menu. Easy parking and nice service help
Delish and charming atmosphere! One of my favs in Sarasota.
This restaurant is a genuine “hole in the wall” in Sarasota.
The food and service were outstanding.
The ambiance truly compliments the experience.
Our absolute favorite place to eat! Every dish we have had is nothing short of excellent!
The first reservation I made when restaurants opened up. Couldn’t wait to come back for the genuine & excellent Italian food. Service was just as warm & attentive as I remembered also.
Masks are making it nearly impossible to communicate with staff. A few mistakes with food + extra long wait times on food. Overall, we understand the masks are forced upon them and the food was good:
The service and food was great. The staff was kind to make a simple dish for our 9 year old that was a little picky.
Love the place! Food is fresh and superb. A definite go to for us!
Every flavor On point
Fantastic!! We look forward to dining there again!!
Went to La Violetta last night. What a treat! I’ve been to Italy twice, even on a food tour and never before have I had such amazing food! My doctor recommended the restaurant as her favorite.
We had 3 items from the specials menu. All were above excellent. The flat bread appetizer was Parma ham and burrata. OMG, it must have had some balsamic on it too. The crust was thin and crisp and there was a sweet, savory musky taste, perfect! We also had the two raviolis that were on the specials list. One was Parma ham and parmigiano-reggiano cheese in a cream sauce. The other was a veal Osso bucco in an osso bucco sauce. They were both magnificent. I thanked the server, Rosaria and the chef who is her husband for the wonderful dinner. We will be back.
excellent food for the third time. this time , even starting at 5pm it became extremely loud.
The other issue is that our waiter from Rome was not up to par. He was overly busy, condescending, acted like he didn't understand what we were saying and when we asked to spit a salad , he said Italians don't do that! I'm not Italian and this isn't Italy!!!! And yes, we do split salads in the US sometimes. I would still recommend this place for the top-notch food.
absolutely fantastic!! The food was exceptional. I have been to Italy multiple times and this restaurant is just as good as the best food I've had in Italy.
What can I say? I have dined throughout Italy from Venice to Palermo and at Italian restaurants along the United States east coast and none have been better than La Violetta. It is excellent. Each time we leave, we cannot wait to return. Try the Pana Cotta di Gorgonzola, the Caramelle al Tartufo and the Foie Gras Brûlée and you will see what I mean.
excellent food and presentation. Monica our server was also excellent and provided thoughtful and thorough navigation through the menu for first time diners.
Like that the chef will let you change out pastas or sides, etc. We always enjoy our food and service is always very good. Can’t beat homemade pasta.
Great menu great service. Will visit again in the next two weeks.
This small unassuming restaurant is lovingly managed by authentic Italian folks. I love listening to them describe their food in their beautiful dialect. They are passionate about ingredients and freshly made entrées.
Finally,a real restaurant that you can "dine" at and have a lovely meal made with finesse. Molto buono! A real gem in the otherwise boring Florida food scene.
this is a wonderful restaurant. we are italian and we are always looking for real italian restaurants in USA.
the owners were very kind with us and the menu suggestions were better than I expected.
The menu is the real north italian cuisine.
we enjoyed it
The special flatbread was outstanding. The duck must be ordered. And this is the place for outstanding Ravioli.
A great restaurant.
Their pastas are homemade and delicious Rosario is the best
La Violetta lived up to friends' recommendations when our group of four dined there in late February. I'd not been to the restaurant in a couple years--for no real reason--and found all the selections to be well composed and wonderfully prepared. The home-made pasta was perfectly al dente and nicely sauced. Even the pasta side dish that arrived with my fish course was memorable. The small bites of meat and fish shared at the table were all excellent and the wine list offers a range of bottles at fair prices. Service is very competent and friendly, and the atmosphere is fine if you're not there for a fashion statement. We'll return.
This was my second visit in 2 weeks because the memory of their remarkable Duck Confit sous vide just couldn’t be suppressed any longer! Their food is simply YUMMY! So is the ambience. You feel you are back in Italy in a charming little place tucked away in a village (instead of in a strip mall along S.Tuttle!). Don’t miss this.
This tiny storefront hides some of the best Italian food in the area. Focus is on Emilia Romagna region and is reflective of the richness of that cuisine. Staff are cordial and helpful. Off the beaten path and worth the trip. Easy parking.
Very Authentic, great food and service. Highly recommended.
Awesome, Amazing, Delicious
The Osso bucco ravioli were amazing
The red snapper beautifully prepared
And the tiramisu no words but awesome
Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed the meal and service. We ordered several dishes to share and all were delicious! Especially loved the tagliatelle and spinach gnocchi. Rosa was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again!
Excellent service, food and ambience. They allowed me to decorate and supply a birthday cake for my husband’s birthday. Such an enjoyable evening. We felt welcomed and comfortable like I was at home celebrating without me doing the cooking. Have and will continue to recommend this restaurant to friends. My husband who is from Italy felt it was authentic Italian cooking. A+++ rating great job!!!!!
