   The last thing I would want to do is leave a negative review; however, I feel I must for the experience I had at La Viola. We arrived for our reservation. They told us to wait with about 10 other people that were waiting to be seated as well, understood. Once they took us to our table they seated 5 of us at a table that could only accommodate only 4 and if that was not bad enough it was at a pass through and next to the bathroom. The table that could hold 8 next to us had only 6 people seated at it. The server's were attentive. Our food came out very quickly, so if you are looking for a restaurant that can serve food quickly, this is the restaurant for you. The veal was overcooked and a disappointment. The dessert - cheese cake was dry. I will not return to this establishment. With all the other fine restaurants in the city, you might want to skip this one unless you are desperate.

   Our second visit to LVW - outstanding food. Unlike our first visit we felt this dinner was rushed by our server(s). First course was almost on top of our entree and it felt hurried although there were enough tables open if needed. Will certainly go back and pay attention to how staff is working the table/ordering.

   It was a nice place to accomodate a large party, but the place is BYOB and cash only, and that caused quite a lot of issues for our dinner party.

   We had a large group of 11 and the service was great for large group but they wouldn't let us split the bill 3 ways so that made it difficult to pay. The food was a little bland but very fast service. We didn't know it was BYOB, so some were disappointed to not have wine with dinner. We didn't see that in Open Table.

   We enjoyed our dinner at La Viola. The service was friendly and welcoming and we got a nice table near the window. The salad dish was smaller than expected, as was the calamari appetizer. But the pasta dishes were very good and tasty. Would recommend for a dinner off the beaten path near Rittenhouse Square.

   I love La Viola. That being said, their prices seem to have gone up significantly. Quality of food AND value brought me back again and again. $41 for lunch with entree and coffee…no longer a value. Shame. I have family and friends visiting and normally, we would go here. Will seek alternatives.

   The veal chop was a special of the evening. Outstanding. It was also $43. That was a lot of money, but less than an equivalent plate would have cost at a high-end steakhouse. Food and service were exemplary, as always.

   This was my first visit and I was very disappointed. I frequent many Italian restaurants downtown and this was by far my worst experience thus far. The food was okay. Our waiter was very flustered/frustrated from the start of taking our order. He only checked on us one time. We received our beverages after we were about half way done.
