Food was delicious! I had gotten the soup (a vegetable based soup puree) and the orecchiette pasta dish. Flavor was very full and delicious. Friend got the Veal marsala dish and was disappointed on the size (given 2 very thin slices of Veal and a side of vegetable. No pasta) and was left feeling hungry.
Pasta dish and an app is the only way to go if they don't correct the sizes.
This is my first review of La Viola Ovieste. However, we have been coming here for years. Dining in Philadelphia during the winter of the pandemic is a challenge for restaurant, staff and diners. La Viola did a great job making us comfortable outside. Food quality was excellent and always a good value. Service was attentive and friendly. I will always return here for a great casual meal.
The food is great and the prices are reasonable! The service was great and our whole party had a great time!!!
Wonderful service and wonderful
Food
Always a great time here. The food is superb and the staff are always a fun time! We also had our rehearsal dinner here and it was amazing. Guests had a3 course meal and lots of options to choose from and it was all delicious
Fantastic in everyway - highly recommended - thank you!
The best place to gather! Such warm vibes abs fantastic food.
Great spot. Only issue was the Lamb Chops special was cooked medium-well instead of medium-rare as asked, but still very tasty. Good service, would go back.
La Viola is always great. I had my rehearsal dinner there as well as birthday dinners and bachelorette parties. They never fail in pleasing everyone.
We really had a great time. The food was excellent . Can’t believe we have never been there . Definitely on my radar for a return visit ....
The food was delicious, came out in a timely manner and the restaurant staff were welcoming. Also can’t go wrong with BYOB!
We had an amazing diner at La Viola Ovest. Never had that kind of pasta dish, the sauce and flavors of the seafood melted to perfection.
Strongly recommended, the service is excellent always. Grab your wine and don’t miss the chance.
Keep up the good work guys!
We were a party of 4, everything was handled very good. The fungi and mussels red were so fresh and good, my pasta special was very tasty and fresh. Service was amazing wonderful staff and food.I highly recommend this amazing restaurant.
We had 6 in our party and had an outdoor table. We all had appetizers and they were all delicious, muscles, smoked trout, and mozzarella and roast peppers. Our entrees varied from pasta dishes to seafood the food and service were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s our neighborhood go too.
We love this restaurant and are so happy it's reopened. Give it a try you won't be sorry.
Strongly recommend la viola west!!!
Good food, Family atmosphere great service.
The best Italian BYOB in town. Great for groups or dates.
Awesome restaurant, the service was great. My lobster ravioli was to die for, the waiter’s were kind and helpful. I highly recommend this place.
Construction (steal beams being lifted by crain) taking place across the street created a unique atmosphere (totally out of control for the restaurant).
I have never had worse service at a first rate restaurant. We were served by half a dozen people, none of whom was in touch with prior servers. I had to ask for bread, ask twice for water, ask three times for an ice bucket (before being told they had none available). We had a long wait to order. A waiter tried to deliver someone else's dinner before we received our salad. We asked for extra plates for sharing when we ordered, then had to ask for separate plates after food arrived, and plates came so late we were nearly done eating. A waitress tried to take our dessert order before we had received our dinner. Food was good, some very good, but not great. Mushrooms were better a month ago.
The restaurant was not responsible for the loud tricycles that kept circling the block.
The food was not very tasty at all. It was very bland. I was very disappointed.
The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend.
One of the highlights of our trip was this restaurant, the food was great, portions were generous and staff was very friendly. Highly recommend!
The four course Restaurant Week menu is far better and with many options than most places. Eating on 16th Street is not charming. First course Mozerrela was good, second course of mussels in white wine sauce also good, Veal Marsala also very good, and finish with peach sorbet also good (and served in a frozen fresh peach an unexpected nice touch). Definitely worth the money and a visit!
Had the best time ever at La Viola. Food and service were amazing.
Bad service, waiters very rude.
As always, a fantastic meal. Especially before a concert, which was cancelled, however.
Did not realize that it was BYOB, it should probably be stated more visibly in the app.
Pasta was good although mine was too cold. Seems home made.
Was a favorite of ours. Now too crowded and too noisey. Tables have been crowed in like La Viola East.
My guests and I did not know to bring our own wine. However, the food was delicious and nicely presented, and the servers were very attentive.
The restaurant was very busy. Staff were rushing to get orders . There was a real push to get customers in and out with tables heavily booked for the evening .
Appetitizer arrived within minutes if the order being placed . Appetizer was hardly finished and the main course was out and before you know it the bill was on the table .
There was no comfort in eating there that evening.
Service was terrific and food was delicious but felt very rushed.
My family and I have been to this restaurant many, many times and have very much enjoyed it. This most recent time, we felt extremely rushed. Our silverware was taken from us before we were finished and we needed to ask for more. Would've enjoyed our meal and experience more had we not been rushed.
Had a great dinner at LaViola as part of our wedding anniversary weekend in Philly, as we do every year. Had our rehearsal dinner here 8 years ago. One of our favorite Italian restaurants anywhere. Excellent homemade pastas, great salads, and bread you can only get in Philly. Service is always prompt and friendly. Awesome experience.
It was a good dinner. Nothing that I would rave about though. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. I found the tables too tight.
This place always has great food. I love this place.
The waiters were so stressed, the noise was ridiculous, the vibe was rushed and panicked. Guests are packed into tables on top of each other, and the room is filled to capacity with no padding or cushioning on walls to absorb the voices. One person in our party needed to order two entres of chicken (which was good but took 2 to feed him). My Mahi Mahi fish was overdone, and the "redo" was almost raw in the middle. I will NEVER go to this restaurant again. Huge waste of time and money.
The food was sub-par, especially for the price.
Excellent food and service! We had a great family diner! Thank you La Viola for making my Birthday special!
Great food and service. Good was amazing each course. A little tight in seating and a little noisy. Otherwise, great time and will attend again. BYOB is great feature.
