Gerry is the best and staff are like family. We love dining here for so many years
This exceeded my expectations. We got a table, no problem. We ordered soup and gnocchi to share and they were kind enough to split the food into two bowls and two plates. The food was delicious. They even read my note from my reservation asking for the cannoli dessert.
Ten people for dinner including three small children. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good, it was a great experience. Thank you La Villetta!
Love this place. Local neighborhood restaurant.
They DO NOT acknowledge reservations. SO crowded when we arrived, maitre d' said wait a minute, and never returned. Never asked name. Had no place to wait. PACKED. You should remove from Open Table because they no not recognize reservations. Left and ate elsewhere.
I have dined at La Viletta on several prior occasions. Overall the food at this bustling, upscale, neighborhood bistro is delicious.
On this occasion I was seated for a 6 pm reservation. A friend joined moments later, having been stuck in rush hour traffic.
Our waiter took our drink order and left menus. He came back several times BEFORE our wine arrived to ask if we were ready to order. We looked at the menu after drinks arrived. We ordered 2-3 minutes later. Our salad course arrived almost instantly. The first salad finished was whisked away the moment the fork touched the plate. I had to hold onto my plate in able to finish mine as the waiter was in such a hurry to clear.
Our main course arrived immediately and the restaurant began to fill up. There were no patrons waiting. As we finished, the dessert menus were placed in the table and WHILE OUR PLATES WERE STILL BEING CLEARED we were asked to decide. As dessert was placed before us, I saw the manager speaking impatiently to our waiter, directly behind my guest’s back, urging him to hurry us along.
I glanced at my watch and saw that we had been seated just after 6:00 and it was now 7:25!
The food was delicious and our waiter almost apologetic at the hurried service. Nevertheless, the hurried and insistent pace of our meal was so AGGRESSIVEthat neither of us would consider ever dining here again.
Solid upscale neighborhood Italian with a great wine list.
wanted a small place where food was authentic and could converse with friends without too much noise and bother. meatballs good, fried calamari rubbery and old - with hard breading, almost inedible. orecchiette good, salmon tender, good tiramisu.
what could you ask more from a restaurant. Luigi is wonderful GM and great addition to the food , wine and ambiance.
A tiny, cozy, pleasant and intimate Italian restaurant nestled on 53rd street between Beekman and First Avenue. The tables are very, very close together, but the service is so remarkably attentive, caring and excellent that you almost don’t notice the extremely close quarters. The food is very good, with the grilled octopus and broccoli rabe appetizer a notable and delicious stand out. The caprese salad, pasta pomodoro and veal with mushrooms were also quite tasty. Specials are numerous (the veal was one) and the menu has a very nice variety of Italian favorites, with wine offerings that are well chosen and well priced. While this is a tiny restaurant, the fresh flowers, impeccably focused, lovely and polished service, very good food, and well curated wine offerings will make us returning customers. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at La Villetta and are already looking forward to returning.
A neighborhood stand out. Always delicious.
Carbo meal dinner before NYC Marathon. All our pastas were exceptional. Winner was Penne Siciliano. Busy and smallish-you’d think it’s be loud but it’s not at all. Only small niggle was the TV: such a nice place, why do they need a screen?
We always enjoy having dinner here. The menu, food and preparation is wonderful. The waitstaff is very accommodating. Another wonderful meal!
Intimate neighborhood gem with great food and service and a specials list a mile long. I would definitely love to come back here and I recommend it.
Luigi is the best manager ever created. His memory like an elephant! Never forgets a client or his/her wine.
Luigi is a fabulous chef and the service is great
This cozy local Italian restaurant has very good cuisine and service at a reasonable price. The list of specials of the day also is extensive. The restaurant in a neighborhood jewel.
The entire experience is exceptional!
Great food and service. Wonderful to have it in the neighborhood.
Yummy food fabulous service and fun
Food is very good.
Waiters are a bit abrasive, not very welcoming. Ask for suggestions and they don’t express anything with conviction. It’s almost like your bothering them with a silly question. However the food makes up for this one complaint.
Great restaurant in the neighborhood.
charming neighborhood place, excellent food and service
Delicious food, and copious portions
We went there with a group of people after work. We all enjoyed our dinners. The waiter was especially attentive and friendly. He recommended delicious food. It is a really nice restaurant
Great food. Great service. We were a large group (14) in a small space and our entire experience went so well and so smoothly. Food was tasty and portions were huge. The staff was excellent. Loved it.
A hidden gem
Wonderful as usual
La dolce vita!
We had a fabulous late lunch at La Villetta..the grilled salmon is superb! And the berry sorbet was amazing! Loved every bite!

This neighborhood restaurant is a terrific place to experience the city. There is a generous menu, all reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and experienced. I will eat there again.
Very good food and service. Good selection on Italian wines by the glass. Pleasant environment. Very enjoyable overall. No complaints
Charming atmosphere and delicious food.
Always a pleasure to have dinner here. The food are service are reliably wonderful.
Gerry is the best and the Chop is awesome
LaVilletta is always outstanding. Service and Food exceptional. Unfortunately is has become very popular and it was crowded and noisy. Had to wait 20 minutes for table since people were not leaving. The price you pay for being a great restaurant. But I will always wait for a table, the food is worth it.
This is my favourite neighbourhood restaurant and I always take guests there.
It reminds me of Italy and the food is as good as my Italian husband cooks.
Lovely atmosphere and very pleasant people
My husband and I usually come to the city every 8 weeks or so. This was our second visit. The food was amazing and the coconut cake is the best we ever had.
The staff is very attentive and makes you feel at home.
We will definitely be back!
Maggie and Jim
