So sad that it was the last day for this restaurant. The steak frites was delicious, as was the snapper ceviche, fresh bread with truffle butter (very mild, thank you) and my husband loved his risotto and pork belly. The eclair for 2 was heavenly.
Consistently wonderful. Great service. Delicious food. Gracious host.
Awesome place! Beautiful decor, wonderful service, amazing food. We had the best time and tipped way too much because we had such fun and our waitress was great.
They change their menu based upon what’s in season, so I got the butternut soup and gnocchi. Both were great. We also shared the truffle mashed potatoes, which were my favorite. And the bread, especially the garlic bread, was wonderful!
Yum yum in the Tum tum
La Villa is always a great choice for brunch, happy hour and dinner.
Solid and consistently good. Wine list could be enlarged...
Great afternoon Brunch. Enjoyed it with several of our friends and will be back.
Food and service were amazing! Really good stuff.
Spent the evening with my son and hubby and the food was amazing! The grilled octopus was perfect temperature ( we have noticed typically it’s over cooked in many fine restaurants but not here ) and the fois gras was delicious land the consistency was notable . The gnocchi with truffles was light but flavorful and the chocolate desert with icecream was a perfect dish to round off! My son finished it almost as his main meal😊 we will most certainly come back again
Excellent place with a contemporary, quaint and eloquent ambiance. Beautifully displayed cuisines and extraordinary service, well worth it!
Continues to improve in breadth of menu. Service friendly, wine list a bit restricted, but overall a good
bistro in a convenient location...
Our waiter was awesome - he did a great job and we loved the Rose, the charcuterie, steak frites and risotto - great gem on Montrose! We will be back!
Their gazpacho is an experience all on its own...
also had the Brancino as my entree and it was divine.
Service was wonderful and the atmosphere is very French. Love the decor and ambiance!
Hats off to the chef - the French Riviera has been captured!!!
Absolutely amazing food! Will be back for more! Service was a little slow , wine did not arrive until after the appetizers were served , so we just had to wait, but overall the high quality and taste of food take the higher weight. Definitely the place to come as often as possible
Always good as expected.
Cheese and charcuterie plate was enough to share for 4 people. It reminded me of ones I have eaten in France. Spouse thought the creamed polenta was the best he ever ate.
Awesome birthday lunch for my friend.
Food was fabulous, service above and beyond. Perfect for a celebration or just lunch.
La Villa is one of the best dining experiences in Houston. The chef is creative, the staff friendly and accomodating, and the ambience is relaxed but elegant. The watermelon/strawberry gazpacho on the Summer menu is nothing short of a genius concoction. It's an explosion of flavor in every bite. I get it every time we go and dream about it until the next time. I'm hoping for the fall/winter menu that the Butternut Squash soup makes a come back, too. The Scallop/Risotto dish is heavenly as well as the Octopus. We've only had one disappointment here (the chicken) and it isn't that it was bad, it's just the accompanying braised cabbage isn't our thing. Having said that, the menu is diverse enough that there is always something new to try which is always fun. We love La Villa!
The best French food in town ( and we are French and foodies)... We highly recommend - Do not forget the desserts !
I love this place! My husband and I have been here 3 times (brunch, dinner, and happy hour at the bar), and the food and service are always excellent! We brought friends for brunch, and they loved it as well. Definitely coming back here!
This restaurant is intimate, clean and chic! Came here with a friend for brunch, the server had recommendations ready and the champagne he offered was tasty. The menu is reasonably priced and all the food was great! Cheese plate is well rounded and the brunch menu is also. Will definitely dine again!
Great food and service. Beautiful ingredients which are obviously sourced with great care. Cool interiors but noise level was high. Well selected wine list that is probably 20% over priced.
Avoid the "roasted chicken club". They used Dark chicken meat which was filled with gristle and skin. Yes, there was actual chicken skin attached to the meat. Disgusting 😠.
Cute place. Good food and good service!
La Villa was able to accommodate our party of 8 and provided the environment for a great family brunch. Food was great, service was awesome.
Great date night restaurant. Private, yet lively. Food is delicious. Will definitely be back.
The place reminds one of Provence and the Riviera my biggest complaint is the very loud noisy ambience which makes it hard to hear the waitress or the fellow diners at your table. The wine menu is of southern France and is particularly well picked. The gazpacho was excellent and so were the frogs legs the duck breast tasted great but it was difficult to cut. Desserts were delectable and service with our waitress Bronte was excellent. Definitely a place to return to. Hopefully they can tone down the noise level.
This is the real deal...a real French restaurant. I had the charcuterie and duck, both were excellent. Very nice wine list that is fairly priced... we had a very good Chateau Neuf de Pape. Our server, Ariel, was outstanding.
It is too bad there is no valet parking at lunchtime especially with BB Lemon next door. More people would come if you have valet at lunchtime.
Hi Mary, The BB Lemon Valet is also the La Villa Valet.. You can use it lunch, brunch and dinner. Regards
Food was good, dining room is loud. Unfortunately there were multiple issues with our bill. 1. The bartender asked my husband if he wanted the large block of ice in his scotch so my husband said “yes”. The bartender did not inform us that it would result in an upcharge. That piece of ice was an extra $2.50 on our bill. 2. We were asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. We said “still”. We were served 2 ice waters in glasses so assumed still water meant tap water. Then a charge for Evian appeared on the bill. There was no Evian bottle in sight. 3. We made it clear that we were there for the HRW menu and ordered an appetizer that was one of the HRW options because we needed some food right away. Then we ordered the rest of our food off the HRW menu. They charged us the full appetizer price on top of the HRW price. I get it - you’re supposed to place your complete HRW meal at once so technically we ordered 2 of the same appetizer. But they never brought the 2nd one and tried to double charge us. Will not be returning.
HRW menu was well worth it, but I'll be back for the laid back French vibe and excellent service. Slightly noisy, but good energy. Small, focused french wine list and lots of seafood on the menu.
Continues to be a great find in our neighborhood. Noise levels when it is busy are at the top of the scale.
Terrible service! All bad...no host walking in...then Timothy helped. Server lost didn’t know how to be pleasant . Ham in the omelette seemed to be lunch meat. I’ve been a regular, now I don’t think so.
The food was not u to par for a French restaurant and the Value was substandard . the noice level was so great that we did not enjoy our evening . Will not be going back even for the regular menu.
We are old so we eat at 5:30 to avoid noise. When entering the restaurant the loud techno pop was reminiscent Paris in the 70 s , crap music not suited to fine dining at this hour where early diners tend to be old, want to get in and get out, and are likely repeat diners, not special occasion diners. The manager turned down the volume which allowed us to enjoy the nuanced food served here. If the crowd that comes in after 7 likes to scream at each other they can have it.
Outstanding food and presentation . Pleasing atmosphere but the quality of the meal feels more important than the ambiance its delivered in.
Modern, elegant ambiance with bright, light, openness. Friendly service and creative menu options. For lunch, hubby and I really enjoyed the shredded lamb sandwich w/ tzatziki sauce. If you love beef try the steak frite- the generous side of fries are the best! For dessert, we absolutely loved the rich and flavorful Riz au Lait w/ salted caramel, hazelnuts and pistachios (think fanciest rice pudding EVER)!!! We drove a ways to get here, but would definitely return when we get a chance.
Food as good as any that I have had in Paris!
Everything was great, but our server interrupted us a few too many times.
Food was piping hot and fresh, surprisingly it was delivered fast! Service was slow with refills and bread/butter.
