La Torretta Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Old school service and a place that still cares about the customer. Authentic Italian, large portions, and below average prices. Servers are attentive, go above and beyond, and will stray from the menu to cook you what you want. Top 1 or 2 Italian restaurant in Italian. Nothing fofo about it. Quality all around.
Our service was great, but the food is just so-so. Definitely not worth the prices they charge. Could definitely get the dishes we had, spaghetti bologenese and chicken rigatoni parmesan anywhere else for that quality, at half the cost. I might be a little bias having moved here from Chicago, home of all amazing food. But, I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some top notch Italian food.
My friend and I were staying at a resort down the road for the weekend and came for some good Italian food. She had never been here, and I suggested the Eggplant Parmigiana that I'd had before. I got the Chicken Piccata and the lemon/caper sauce was tasty. They come with a mixed veggie side, and we both requested a substitution on the side pasta, Cappellini w/red sauce, rather than the ones noted on the menu. We were both pleased with our entrees, and as usual, the sauce for the bread is always a hit. Only negatives were that I'm not crazy about the bread rolls served before the meal, fresh and warm. They're not bad, just have had better Italian bread/rolls elsewhere. Also the red sauce needed more kick. Next time I'll order it spicy:-)
The best part was our server, Chaz, who was very attentive and waited on us patiently and efficiently. He had knowledge of the food and wine when we asked questions, and made sure we had a nice dining experience. Will request him next time I'm in.
*I see some reviews on Yelp blasting the furniture and atmosphere as being "old," and the food "outdated"? I am old, I guess, at 65, but don't look it, and I'm very young at heart. I love the "traditional" Italian dishes, the booths are quite comfy, murals and artwork are beautiful, and do enjoy the quiet, relaxing atmosphere where you can actually hear each other when you talk. Those are the things that make you feel like you are enjoying a good home-cooked Italian meal in a pleasant NY restaurant, like back in the day. They serve all the favorites, along with a plethora of other delicious choices, in a very extended menu, and creative daily specials. I guess Youngsters who want a hip, loud, crowded place, and food with a more modern twist need to go elsewhere :-)
The food was so delicious! Gnocchi with bolognese sauce & meatballs, and chicken parmigiana, both entrees were wonderful! Delicious rolls & dipping oil as well. Yum! It was a quiet night in the restaurant, not crowded, very enjoyable. Everyone was very friendly and attentive!
I love finding family owned restaurants because you get authentic, delicious food. The service is great, the staff is friendly and welcoming. They don't skimp on the food, either! I took half my meal home and had it for dinner the next night. Great experience overall! Highly recommend!
Our server, Maria, was phenomenal. Very down to earth and a great personality. Busser (we didn't catch his name) was attentive, but not overly so. Food was spectacular. My wife was interested in two of the dishes and Maria had the kitchen supply a combo plate so she could taste both. I had the lasagna and it was one of the best I'd ever had. Caesar salad was also quite good. Wine was very good. Desserts were tasty. Only complaint was, they ran out of decaf coffee...
Owner stopped by our table to make sure everything was as we expected.
A friendly neighborhood find and we will be back!
A father and son family owned restaurant serving the best Italian food in the valley. Try the escargots for an appetizer and then have either the eggplant parm or the lasagna and you will be singing in joy for the rest of the evening. (psst...the fish special is also really terrific). Top it off with a home made desert and you will be in for a terrific dinner experience
The food was very good, the server was very attentive and personable. We liked the atmosphere and decor. Very clean tablecloths and napkins, upscale but not luxurious. We picked a good time to have dinner so it was not very crowded but even so the meal took a while to arrive. The bread appetizer was only so-so. It needed a better high gluten flour but it tasted fresh baked which is a plus. We would return for the food.
