Great Mother's Day meal. Food was excellent. Outdoor seating was great. Service was very attentive.
Great to see a full restaurant, or at least getting back to normal. Great COVID protocols and everyone have a good time. Cocktails, salad and salmon were perfect way to start the evening. Rigatoni and Pasta Nero were the dishes. Staff was very nice and everything was nice !
Lovely birthday dinner for my friend and I who share the same birthday! I had delicious saffron risotto and we were gifted tiramisu for dessert! Great ambiance on the patio where we sat!
I love this local gem. I enjoy the food, the ambience and the atmosphere.
Outstanding dinner. La Tomate has totally upped their game. Plan on going back soon.
Very pleasant afternoon meal (late lunch) , tasty meal, genial waiter, potent negroni. We were having a catch up after a year, so didn’t mind the really slow pace — in fact very much appreciated not being rushed- but most of the other customers seemed to be having “brunch” so they were in all you can eat/drink mode that kept the staff busy. If you’re hungry or in a hurry and are there on a lazy afternoon, you probably should mention it. We weren’t, so didn’t, and we were happy to wait an hour for our food.
Fantastic quality and selection for appetizers, main course and desert. Wine was delicious as well. Service was top notch
Took a visiting friend to La Tomate and we had a great time. Good time relaxing over some beer and wine. We started with salads and each later have calabrese pasta which was perfect. Great flavors! Staff and service always helpful.
I met two friends there for our first ever restaurant visit in a long time. The food was delicious, the three course lunch menu was such an amazing deal, the service was superb and the decor nothing short of charming. We had such a good time and made it just in the nick of time for our visit to the Phillips practically across the street. We will be back!
Yummy. The only thing that could be improved ... the bread. I'll be back!
La Tomate is the best! The porch was comfortable, and it's almost free-air season!
Love the prosciutto and cheese boards. Melt in your mouth good with delicious bread and olive oil.
The ravioli was outstanding.
This will continue to be a favorite!
Very creative food options. There isn't fried calamari but rather a mixed fried/non-fried calamari dish with capers and other vegetables and broth-based. It was tasty! The menu is a bit away from the norm of Italian food, and it's good!
What a wonderful surprise- a true gem! We will return again and again!
Great atmosphere. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious. Everything you could want from an Italian bistro!
Grilled Octopus was an excellent starter as well as the Burrata. Excellent cocktails and a relaxing start to dinner. Cacio e Pepe and Pasta Nero were the main dishes. Prepared and served perfectly. Staff and service always great.
All the food we ordered was fantastic and not rushed. COVID protocols in place both inside and out, and the staff was phenomenal!
As someone who loves trips to Italy, La Tomate makes me feel like I am in Italy.
Great classic Dupont Italian restaurant. Never dissappoints.
La Tomate is our family's favorite Italian restaurant. The chef is innovative and always updating the menu.
Great food, great waitstaff, great atmosphere...front of the house could use some work. And don’t advertise you’ll be offering your usual brunch menu when you won’t be. ;)
Typically a great Italian Easter brunch. This year, it was average. I can get lasagna anytime. I was looking forward to unique. Waiter had too many tables.
Owner never smiled... not even at the guests.
We’ve gone here for Easter for 4 years. This will be our last.
Overall very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food was absolutely delicious! One of the best Italian spots in DC. Love the ambiance as well.
Terrific food, superslow, inattentive service. We had plenty of conversation time, but were left wondering if we'd been forgotten too.
Sam the bartender is awesome! The food is phenomenal!
Friends all met up and had a great time with drinks, eggplant and Italian meats as starters.
Pasta dishes were the choice s and each was outstanding!! Excellent service
SO GOOD AND SO UNDERATED, my roommate told me about La Tomate, and I was skeptical when walking up. It looks a little like a hole in the wall, but the food is amazing. I am Italian and my family loves to cook. Because of this finding good Italian restaurants is hard because they do not always live up to my family's standards. All of this to say, I would take my Nonna and Nonno here!! SO yummy!!
Good location and great service. It's a great place for a quiet dinner.
Great restaurant. Definitely will go back again and recommend to family and friends.
It was amazing as always
We were craving good pasta and were very pleased with our meals and the super Tuscan house Sangiovese. Delicious!
LOVED our dinner. Alcove window table. Delicious dishes in just the right sizes. Warm ambiance. They kept us waiting a few extra minutes to order - no big deal - but brought us a delicious complimentary dessert at the end to compensate. Unnecessary but tells you a lot about their standards and why they have survived so long. If we lived in DC this would be a regular spot.
Exactly what we were looking for. The food (including taste & presentation) was perfect. Everyone there was very friendly & helpful. Plenty of covered or exposed outdoor seating. And there are heaters & blankets for colder days, which I wish more restaurants had. Very cute interior. We had the full experience. Definitely going again!
Lovely outdoor space, COVID-conscious staff and patrons, DELICIOUS food and drinks.
Still one of the best choices for outdoor dining: quiet, excellent service just off Dupont Circle.
Very pleasant spot for outdoor dining in DC. Wine and pasta were great
Elegant Sunday brunch was beautifully prepared and attractively presented.
LaTomate has a sweet, quaint atmosphere while right at Dupont Circle. Fun to people-watch from the window while enjoying a wonderful 'old-world' Italian meal.
A great small restaurant. Wonderful food and kind waitstaff. Love going there. Courtesy exceptional
