La Terrazza Ratings and Reviews
The food was horrific. We went here for a date night and ordered bruchetta, lobster bisque to start. The bruchetta had elk and pineapple as toppings and the lobster bisque tasted like something out of a can. We then had their seafood pasta and seafood risotto and it tasted like bad shell fish with mounds of butter. I defiantly do not recommend eating here they need to hire new kitchen staff who can cook.
Very disappointed with our New Years Eve Experience. While we made a reservation several weeks ahead, our family of 5 was seated in a very undesirable and noisy location. SO noisy in fact, we could barely have a conversation. Service was exceeding slow, we made the same request 4 times before our server finally brought the item and later were completely ignored when one of our guests requested a refill on an iced tea. With a dinner tab of nearly $600, expected much more.
Restaurant was good - however the food was a little disappointing and very average. Service was also average as we kept having to ask for simple things like having our water topped up. We were disappointed as we were taking my boyfriends family out for dinner and this was a real let down.
My husband and I went to this restaurant on an evening dinner date and it exceeded our expectations. He had the rabbit which was spectacular and I had a seafood risotto which was absolutely heavenly. Our waiter was very attentive and helped us choose a wine that we would both like because we weren't familiar with many of the wines. We are a 9 hour drive to this restaurant but when we are back in the area I will definitely be going back.
The lounge part of the restaurant is attached to the hotel foyer. It can get a little loud out front and near the conference rooms.
Once through the back however, it gets quieter and the ambiance is nicer. The food also speaks for itself. Would eat there again.
I will start by saying that the food here is vey delicious. The chef is amazing and I would definitely eat here again due to the high quality of food. However we were disappointed in the service. When I made the reservation it asked what we were celebrating and I chose "anniversary". But no one mentioned this fact nor did they ask what we were celebrating. The server wasn't great at first but he did redeem himself in the end as he was very kind. But we ordered our appetizers and drinks at the same time and we were finished our appetizers before they even brought my drink.
We were expecting more than we got at this place, but thankfully the food was fantastic.
Reviews indicated this was a great Italian restaurant. Unfortunately that was not the case for us. The menu was limited. The wine list unimpressive. My wife's spaghetti and bison meatballs was good but no great. My veal stuff with tiger pawns was below par. We were looking forward to a great meal but we were unimpressed.
Excellent food & service. I was disappointed in the ambience because the brochure made it sound so enticing. It was pleasant but still a hotel dining room. A little pricey but that is to be expected for Banff & it took us a while to find parking (again to be expected for Banff).
Great ambiance within a fully glass-walled, glass-ceiling dining room. Romantic, classy atmosphere without bordering on haughty/snobby.
Serving staff show hints of inexperience in small details (left menus on our table after we ordered, so we were approached multiple times to make an order until the menus were taken off the table. Server forgot to mention a dish when listing the specials, etc), but are very warm, polite, and accommodating. Servers achieved a friendly rapport with us throughout the night without intruding too often.
The food was quite good, though not great. Portions are small, for two people we ordered 3 appetizers, 2 mains, and dessert (meal also included a complimentary serving of bread, cheese, and balsamic vinegar for the table) in order to fill up. Great cocktail, dessert, and wine lists for the casual diner. Sufficiently unique menu options.
Overall, no single feature was striking (although the general romantic atmosphere was the strongest point), but the overall dining experience was nice. Would return again.
Overall a very good dining experience. Service was excellent and food was very good. My chicken Park was excellent and the server made some other good recommendations. Knowledge of wine list wasn't very deep by the staff and atmosphere was lacking based on location of the restaurant in the hotel. Would definitely go back again.
We changed our plan when arrived Banff and decided to try this resturant as we stayed at the hotel .
It turned out the dinner exceed our expectation. The dishes are all delicious and very traditional italian cooking . Pasta are so so good. Another great dish is the catch of the day its so good , cooked just right with orzo pasta !
The service is great .
The place was empty and offered a lot of privacy. That's about the best that I can offer. The tiger prawn spaghetti was at least cooked properly, but the prawns were hardly tiger sized. A step above popcorn shrimp would be more apt.
We had the chef's bruschetta creation, which came on almost rock hard bread.
The experience was underwhelming, sorry but I won't be back.
There were six people in our party and we all raved about this dining experience. The food was amazing. One of my colleagues said it was his best restaurant meal EVER! The service was exceptional. Our server was Madison - charming and friendly. Again, one of the best servers any of us have ever met. Overall the experience was close to perfection.
What a wonderful meal in a cozy setting. Right from the minute we arrived we knew it would be good. They have large upholstered chairs that were very comfortable. I have food allergies that can be difficult to accommodate but didn't have any issues here at all. The server talked to me and then consulted with the chef who came up with a very tasty dish that was loosely based on one of the dishes on the menu. It's not often that I find a place that is willing to go that far to accommodate me. My husband loved his dish as well.
We were in last Saturday for as stagette dinner, and the Terrace dining room pulled out all the stops for us! Everyone had an amazing meal, drinks and the atmosphere was excellent. We had 12 people, and we were never waiting for anything or feeling neglected. Would absolutely return, hopefully sooner than later!
