About
First time so servers were good in explaining about the menu. Food is great.
It’s been a while since I’ve visited La Tasca and I was disappointed with my return.
It took our waiter a long time to check in with us after we first sat down. The food was just ok, when I have fond memories of eating delicious dishes. We had to request simple things like water.
I personally won’t be returning to La Tasca. The food and service has gone down since my last visit.
Great! The sangria is awesome and the food is all good.
Great visit... Bathroom could be cleaned... The service was good... Food was bland... The drink was okay... Even the seasoning on the food was bland... Glad they do not use alot of salt... No salt on table either... This restaurant was label Spanish food... But they did their own spin on Spanish dishes... Dont go they if you looking for tacos or plantain... You will get fried eggplant and chicken on a stick
While the food and service were very good, the atmosphere was lacking. The lights were far too bright and it was lacking intimacy conducive to a date night.
Luis and his fellow waiter did an excellent job! They made sure we were having a great time by always asking if we’re OK or if there is anything we need....
Thank you very much! We will definitely be back and spread the word! 10/10!
Overall experience was good. Upon arrival, we didn’t like the table because it was nearby the restroom, but the manager was able to reallocate us in a different one. The food and service were very good, and after 11pm, the music was awesome.
This may be my new favorite place to go. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was perfect for dinner. Then it hit a new level when the dance floor opened up!! 10/10 would recommend. Alejandro was great.
The food was overpriced and not exciting. I could have made what we ordered at home for much less and quite easily. It annoys me to spend money on a restaurant and receive little value.
The wait staff was very nice. We went for valentines and they gave the ladies roses. Very friendly over all food was delicious. Liked the small tapas. Great for sharing and trying new things. There was an error on the final bill which was blamed on a glitch but when we noticed it, they corrected it.
Valentine’s Day deal was great! We were able to pick almost anything off the menu for a fixed price. All the food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The scallops and the bistec (steak) were our favorites! The ambience was a little strange though. They swapped out their lounge for ice cream parlor tables and chairs. Not cozy feeling at all. But the food and service eclipsed our seating situation, so we were overall very happy!
Fresh food, great service, good value. We had a wonderful experience.
Service was underwhelming.
We loved the all you can eat Tapas and 1/2 price wine. It was wonderful to get to try so many different items and even re-try our favorites. Everything was fresh and delicious. I would only recommend more salt on the blistered shishito peppers!
Loved the food!
Had a 10pm reservation on a Sat night and ended up waiting 30 mins for a table! What's the point of reserving if we were going to wait like a walk in? That was not good. They had people who were seated before that didn't leave as they were waitng for the music and dancing. Better if they don't take reservations on those nights if they know they were going to be too full. However, the food was good, service was good, and music was good. I didn't like though that they automatically added a 20% tip on a party of 2, which I didn't realize and ended up double tipping.
Tried their New Year's Eve package, since we know how good the food is there. A bit pricey, I thought, but it is New Year's Eve. The food was great, as usual. What I did not like was how rushed everything was. I was told last kitchen call was 1130, which I thought made sense. I had intended to order more drinks later, but I was presented the bill and our server came back twice just to see if I have already put my credit card in. I just paid the damn thing. Almost $300 for an impatient place eager for me to stop celebrating the new year. Mind you, my reservation was guaranteed by my credit card. Shortly after midnight, with no one asking if we needed more drinks or anything else, we just left. I did not complain, only because I did not want to ruin my wife's new year celebration. Personally, it was a total letdown for me. Through the years the food got worse, then got better. But now I don't care anymore. Never going back there.
We've been many times before, and generally enjoy La Tasca. But never again for NYE. Some dishes were up to their normal excellent standards; others (especially the paella) were complete failures or (roasted cauliflower) well below standard. We expected music for the late night dancing - we did NOT expect the DJ to start at 10 pm at a level that made any semblance of normal conversation impossible. The restaurant also became overcrowded wit latecomers who paid to enter just for the festivities. With taxes and one extra glass of wine, the price - almost $270 - far exceeded our level of enjoyment.
Recommended - but NOT on NYE!!!
As usual, La Tasca provides great food and great service. This was the New Years Eve dinner, and among the 25 tapas included in the all you can eat menu were nearly all of our 6-8 favorites. In fact, our only complaint (which sounds like a Grouch Marx line) is that the servings were on the large side, making us full before we got through our favorites!
Another terrific dinner at La Tasca. Everyone in our party of six--we are vegetarians, vegans, carnivores, gluten-sensitive, lactose-intolerant--found many good options on the menu. Looking forward to the next visit!
We made a reservation on the La Tasca website via Open Table. On arrival they told us that they never receive Open Table reservations for some reason. Luckily they had a table available & we had a wonderful family dinner, as usual. My favorite is the fried eggplant chips with cheese sauce. Tables up front in the bar area look out into the Rockville Town Center plaza. We chose a quieter table in the back. Great service & delicious food!
Was a great spot: not so much anymore.
Menu has been condensed, interior redesign is blah. Waiter was horribly rude, and not great service. Prior to 9 months ago the interior was warm and inviting, now its overly bright and lost its personality.
Food was still descent, but think I will go back to Jaleo for tapas from now on. Better options, better service and better atmosphere.
Food was very good, but the not the service. They had one server serving half of the restaurant. It was obvious she was overwhelmed.
The tapas are wonderful. The service was great, Victor is an excellent server.
Restaurant canceled reservation two hours before we dined, without any explanation
Atmosphere was too cold and cafeteria like.
I had table reservation for 8 people but when I got there they didn't have my table. I have used OpenTable to reserved a table there many times before and this is the first time this has happened. I am very disappointed.
Delicious food, time and time again!
Good Food but service was not good
Good Food, yummy sangria. Brunch should include unlimited tapas, not just sangria. Service could be faster and more responsive.
Beautiful venue.
Not recommended, we have a bad experience xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Now I know why this place was virtually empty on a beautiful Sunday evening. We had to ask another server for water because ours was nowhere to be found. The person who brought the water seemed annoyed. Average food and poor service. The staff was rude and I will not return to this restaurant ever! What a waste of $90!
Worst service ever , I waited 25 minutes to get my beer , food came for every one at the table with their drinks except my drink , I won’t come back here
Disappointed. Called to give a heads up of being late 10 minute to the reserved table. Hostess said that was okay, they’ll have it open still. However our high table wasn’t kept hoping arrival, spoke with same hostess stating “oh yeah, but people started sitting there sorry”.
Love this place! Both the Rockville and Old Town Alexandria locations are awesome. The service and atmosphere is always pleasant and the food is always terrific! Will be back again.
I had a reservation and they did not allow a member of our party because he was wearing khaki shorts but right after him 2 other individuals with jean shorts were allowed to come in.
I don't understand why this place isn't packed every single night. Everything we ordered was delicious! Just bursting with flavor. The sangria is really good but kind of pricey. Our server was very pleasant as well.
Food was cold and greasy and poor quality would not go back
We arrived at the restaurant and although we were seated promptly, we were then not approached by a server at all. We watched as another family entered the nearly empty restaurant about 15 minutes after our arrival and was served immediately and water was brought out. When we got the attention of a server he ignored us and went to another table to serve them. We then realized that we would not be served and promptly left. We will never return
The food was fast and delicious! The service was superb. It was a nice day out for outside seating. Went for a birthday lunch and it did not disappoint. Thanks!
