About
Not the same restaurant (La Tasca). We were disappointed of the food.
Good Food. Interesting décor. A little stark but maybe it was just because it was cold outside. Walked up two flights of stairs to the table which was ok but I think host should ask prior to just heading up. Wife had a more difficult three story walk than I. Paella was good, Duck Chicken and Veg. Needed more duck but tasty. Tapas were very tasty especially the peppers and also the cheese/queso. The wine was good but pricey and as one who comes from a location where we can order by the bottle and any unfinished we can cork and take with I was frustrated having to order the Malbec by the glass.
All in all it was good and I would go back. I like Tapas and I think this restaurant has potential to be a regular stomping ground!
Get together with former colleagues.
Was surprised by the name change, but the food did not change and I was thankful for that! Service was very attentive and pleasant.
disappointed the restaurant switched from full service tapas :(
La Tasca is gone! I checked in for my reservation, which the hostess couldn't find, and was seated downstairs. The menu was for a different restaurant! It felt like the twilight zone. 2 weeks ago I had the same Saturday brunch reservation and everything was normal. Suddenly it's all changed!
We visited in a Friday night. The service was so slow that most of the customers decided to leave. We got our appetizers 45 min after ordering and after one hour our paella wasn't ready yet, so we cancelled and left.
Service was slow. Server even forgot to refill our water. Our glasses didn’t get refilled until we were signing the check even though we’ve asked for it twice.
They are changing their menu and offerings so many of the seafood items we wanted were not available. They will now be a steak house with limited tapa offerings. Will not be returning to this location as I don't eat beef. They said the other locations were not changing their menu...
Food was ok. Menu used to be much larger but is much smaller since new owners. I felt the food wasn’t as good as it was before. Before it made me want to come back. This time leaving I felt like I could take it or leave.
I left la Tasca last night slightly hungry and very disappointed. Upon entering to a nearly empty restaurant with decor reminiscent of one of those tacky Mexican restaurants where they'll sing feliz cumple to your kid on his birthday, I knew I had made a mistake with this reservation. Regardless, I decided to stick it out. My friend and I ordered a selection of five tapas, all of which left us highly judgmental of that person who left a review saying that all the dishes here are excellent and the paella was among the best they've ever had. Our consensus? "Meh." Our steak was not cooked as we ordered it, and the mussels, gritty and two to three times larger than average, left us feeling a bit nauseated. All the other dishes, while not terrible, were not worth the $10+ price tag that accompanied them. The saving grace of the experience was our kind waitress who took the uneaten mussels off our tab despite the fact that we didn't complain to her.
Bottom line? Don't go here. There are plenty of good restaurants in this area and this one will just leave you willing to pay for a $5 single scoop of Nitrogen ice cream after dinner (we can attest), in order to make up for how unsatisfied you will inevitably be.
great brunch options when it comes to food, drinks were ok but given that they were $2 if you purchased the $22 brunch its hard to complain.
One of our favorite spots in Arlington. We've since moved from VA, but we're in town for the weekend. It was on the list before we got in the car to head down.
Love the food and the service is top notch. Looking forward to our next visit.
We had a great lunch date. We had remembered La Tasca from a decade ago, and it was just as we remembered it. Quiet, casual, great food, and great drinks. We will do this again!
Our family got together for dinner. We all ordered 3 tapas - most of which were shareable. The cold gazpacho soup was fantastic! We also loved the lamb lollipops, the lamb meatballs, and the fried eggplant and dip. We will definitely return!
One of the best paellas we have ever had. All of the tapas dishes we had were also excellent. Service was exceptional and we had a wonderful dinner.
My friends and I had A great time. The food was amazing, last time we came to La Tasca the food was not as good. This last visit we fell in love again with the food.
La Tasca used to be a decent tapas chain. Unfortunately since the last time I dropped in, they've severely cut back on the number of sangrias they have, drop a lot from the menu, and the service has tanked. I sat at the bar waiting for my date to arrive and the two bartenders paid little attention to me or the dirty three places next to me for the 30 minutes I was there. The service was slow and inconsistent at dinner, but the waitron was very pleasant. Don't think we'll be going back anytime soon.
We used to really like La Tasca in Arlington, but when we were there last week the service was terribly slow. It took half an hour after we placed our order to get the first plate, and then another 20 minutes to get the rest. And La Tasca has changed their menu in a negative way since the last time we were there by reducing the number of choices. One could hope that a smaller menu would mean that they really excel at the fewer number of dishes they offer, but this was not the case. The chorizo looked like frankfurters and did not taste authentic either. The dates wrapped in bacon were overcooked and mushy. We were totally disappointed.
Although I've been coming here for a long time, I was very disappointed with my recent visit. My guest and I had to keep swatting flies and gnats. And, we were inside! When they
brought the plates for the tapas, I had to send my plate back because it was dirty. The 2nd shift waitperson pretty much ignored us. Catching her attention was difficult. The food was ok - I don't know if I will return.
5 star food 0 star service. Being in the business I hate writing reviews. But this one needs to be done. We were seated promptly, the initial service was prompt but with no greeting and the waitress had minimal knowledge of the menu both drink and food. Honestly she looked to young to even serve us. We ordered and our waitress disappeared (literally). The food came out and she still was a no show. We began to eat and the food was amazing! Steak was cooked right the potatoes were done well and the rest of tapas was about as good as you'll get outside of Barcelona. As I finish my drink and ready another order of tapas our waiter still Doesn't come and check. I ask 2 waiter/busboys and she finally shows up. We orders and she ran off almost as if she had somewhere to be. Finally instead of asking us if we want deserts she gives us the check! Sorry but elizabeth and the front house manager need to retrained. Very sad, my check would have easily been $60-$75 more before tip. Back the house keep up the great work!
The guy was super rude and the food was so underwhelmingly tiny portions. We order the paellas and it was so small it's enough for one person.
Bring back the previous management! while eating outside was very pleasant the food lacked flavor. Regrettably, we will not go back. The food used to be tasty and taste like tapas. Not anymore.
Outstanding service and delicious food
The food is very good! The place is a bit too noisy for me but the ambiance is nice. My guests enjoyed their time.
Excellent tapas choices for set brunch menu! Plenty of food!
I just stopped here for a quick bite before heading out the bars and service was good. I tried bistec that was nicely done and pulpo. I like the sauce they used with the pulpo it gave it a more vivid flavor to it rather then something bland
Hosted a Bday party and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I brought a cake and they brought it out with my candles and served us up. We also brought a large section of balloons and the staff and management received it all quite well. It was a great easy experience and the tapas menus for large groups filling and tasty.
Wait staff was very friendly but severely overworked. No one came to our table for nearly 15 minutes. Drinks arrived 15 minutes after ordering, and our kids' food arrived almost an hour after arriving. Manager claimed that the kitchen was backed up, but the restaurant wasn't crowded...and our waitress was doubling as the bartender. A slow kitchen doesn't excuse the lack of service.
Got in quickly with our rservation. The tapas was explained to us. Waitress got the order, and then the wait. It was Mothers Day, so we understand the wait. Food came out after 30 minutes. We ordered paella, and it came out 20 minutes after our Tapas. The rice was a bit undone, but we didn't bother... it might take another 30 mins for a recook. I ordered another rount of Steak, cooked medium- since we are still munching on the Paella. After 20 minutes, I asked if the steak was not yet started, cancel it. If not, I'll take it. The waitress said its on the way. 20mins has passed, and she told my wife that they are packing it to go. Here's my problem- they don't have to go bags! She expected me yo carry hot streaks packed on an aluminum container. She said they ran out of bags. Really? Spoke to the manager, and told me there's nothing he can do. I stood my ground, and he said he'll buy me a bag. Came back with some brown carrybags, and off we go. Waitress put a 20% gratuity already. I would've given her 10% for pulling that steak stunt. Food was above average, but service was below par, considering I paid almost $200. I should know, I waited tables back in the days..
Great food, awesome atmosphere, excellent service!
The food was fantastic, as was the service, and it was a nice quite evening when we went.
They accommodated our birthday party and did not hassle us about sitting late (as some people were running behind)!
They had about 6 different types of sangria that were delicious in addition to the best Birthday Flan of our life. The waitress was perfectly attentive to our need and we never ran out of drinks of water.
I brought a group of 8 Georgetown students for dinner. We were shuffled off to the third floor where we were essentially treated as a "necessary bother." The food was very good, but our server could not have been less interested in our needs, and I felt throughout the entire meal that she just couldn't wait for us to be done and out of there.
Service was great but food was not.
Very disappointed in food , need some improvement definitely, was Saturday dinner time , all restaurant nearby were busy , this restaurant was not ,, plenty of seats available , there must be reasons .
Met a friend for dinner, sat on patio. Service was excellent food was middle of the road, sangria was just ok, think they forgot the alcohol; not fit for foodie.
Second visit, pomegranate mojitos as good as I remember! Empanadas, artichokes, bacon wrapped pork, sardine salad and desert all delicious with multiple flavors to enjoy. Service was a little slower than expected, not crowded on a Thursday night but food was fresh and hot when it came out. Will continue to keep this on the "do again" list!
Did the happy hour. The chicken and ham appetizer for 250 was amazing and of course the beef empanada was great. Staff was so nice. I highly recommend for after work.
Beautiful place, friendly and accommodating staff, but simply not worth the price. I make tapas from time to time out of a very nice cookbook, but still out of a cookbook. I didn't taste anything that wowed or impressed, that clearly beat my efforts at home. Very pricey place.
Food was good, but again the menu changed. Looking forward to eating some items, but weren't available. Not sure if we just went on a bad night, there weren't hardly any servers, therfore service was slow and had to wait to get refills on drinks.
