the service was okay. The food however, was terrible. The gambas were tiny and had no flavor. The menu described them as being cooked in white wine but there was nothing but olive oil on them. Hence, the no flavor. We then ordered a paella and it was super salty! No one at my table was able to finish the paella. I used to love La Tasca but the service and food has really gone down. I think tonight was my last visit and i wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to any one of my friends.

Excellent live entertaiment on Wednesday nights. Food was great and service had excellent timing. Sangrias are better but still need more work.

My first time trying Spanish Paella and it was fantastic. Also, the Sangria Flight is a must try!

Highly recommended!!! La Tasca tapas are perfect for family-style dining. The sangria menu is top-notch as the fruit is soaked in liquor for several months before serving. Great restaurant for large groups, dates, and families with children. The ambiance is laid-back during the day & early evening and vibrant/ exciting at night.

We went on a Friday night with our 1yr old and there was a live band, lights and people dancing. The accommodating hostess seated us on the upper floor where it wasn’t as loud yet we were able to watch all the action!

The lamb chops, and chorizo tapas are our all-time favorites and of course the peach Sangria Blanco

Visited La Tasca on a Friday evening. I was expecting lots of noise just like most places with a bar, but the sound level at the bar was minimal even with the games on screen. The food was amazing, authentic and delectable and priced just right. It's a good date night environment, and the service was good also.

We had a lovely Christmas Day dinner with excellent food and service. La Tasca is best known for its big selection of tapas (including many good choices for the three vegetarians in our group) but two of us had paella for a change and it was also outstanding.

The staff here were very friendly and attentive and the food tasty. My husband loves one particular tapas dish so we came here but generally I find tapas to be a bit overpriced for what one gets. The baby beets plate had 3 tiny beets for $8.50. It really wasn’t enough to share and not a good value for the price.

I've been to this location three or four times already, and the food is always great. The menu is large, so there is plenty to keep anyone happy. There are many vegetarian, seafood, and meat dishes, which helps for a large group. The empanadas (beef or chicken) are especially good, and so are any of the shrimp dishes I have tried. On our most recent visit, the service was slightly off the mark, but still very good. Just little things like when we all ordered coffees after the meal, we were only given one spoon between all of us in a group. Also, towards the end of our meal the band was setting up to play later, and there was really (*really*) bad feedback five or six times within a few minutes. Other than that, it was a very good meal, and the food and drink is always great here.

We went to celebrate a new job. Several of the dishes were quite good; a couple just average. Service was prompt and attentive, really excellent. The wine list is short, but decent. It was loud, making conversation about the new job difficult. We enjoyed the flamenco music and dancers later in the evening.

Service was ok, food was excellent but expensive, atmosphere was airplane-hanger echo. Probably quieter in a sports bar during the big game. Convo not a possibility. Fun for big boisterous groups probably.

The food and service were mediocre. Having been in Spain frequently for the last 50 years, there idea of tapas was embarrassing to say the least. Even the tortilla Espinoza was barely recognizable as what it was claiming to be. I had great hopes for the place and the server was courteous. I won’t be back nor will I advise anyone else to go there.

Extremely disappointed! I’ve eaten at La Tasca, this specific location, 10 times over the last few years; however, my last two meals were very poor...quality is deteriorating. Tonight we ordered the paella, but it wasn’t paella it was a very tasty risotto. Additionally, the floor and table was sticky. Bottom Line: They have lost my wife and I was customers as tonight I wasted over $100.

I’ve had better tapas in other places, but this restaurant was definitely worth the drive! A few great plates, good craft beer, a flight of sangria, and the service was fantastic! We would go again.

I've been to this location three times. Twice for dinner and this time for brunch. $22 for 3 tapas and $2 sangrias is unbeatable. You'd think 3 tapas aren't enough, but they are. The Calamari was perfectly cooked, Patatas Bravas (a staple), delicious, Empanadas and Croquettes, I highly recommend. On past occasions, my partner and I come and order paella for dinner. Extremely tasty. We love it! Their Albóndigas are also great with some table bread for dipping the sofrito. Our wait service has been hit or miss, though. For brunch, the young lady was great; however, on past occasions for dinner, some have lacked attentiveness leaving our drinks completely empty before asking if we'd like refills.

Sangria and Paella - always something to look forward to! But the Spanish guitar and flamenco dancing - that really makes it special!! Always a treat to come and listen and watch. I'd recommend this to everyone!

Was a bit disappointed. We went specifically for paella - opting for the most expensive of the offerings - and while the flavors were present, the rice was lumpy and lacked the crispy under-belly, and the lobster was a bit overcooked.

Service was excellent & friendly; cocktails were spot-on.

We'd return when again visiting the city, but will probably stick to the pintxos offerings.

Did I order wrong? Weak Sangria (after tasting a few options), hit & miss on the tapas, truly AWFUL pallela (soggy, salty, chewy seafood -- eww!) Truly confused about the good reviews. Really, REALLY loud with sound bouncing off the tile floors ... and a RUDE WAITER to boot (others seemed fine, we just got the bad one). Seemed very popular, but *I* won't be returning!

We usually go to the Rosslyn La Tasca and it's a great experience. We wanted to spend some time in Old Town Saturday night so figured La Tasca there would be the same. WRONG! The food was good but the service was abysmal (and they weren't crowded). Service was a little slow at first but not annoyingly so, but about halfway through the meal it became non-existent - as in, I had to go myself to the wait stand to refill my water glass. Also, our last order round was not even completely filled -- some of the items we ordered just never showed up. We paid our bill as quickly as we could (it wasn't) and finally left in disgust.

Disappointed with the service and overall experience. Food came raw.. even though we specify the term we wanted the meat. The chorizo plate was bad.. and our service never came back to follo wup on us. We had to constantly ask for help. Our service was not aware or trained in how to service a bottle of cava in a bucket. We go to La TASCA in DC.. which is great.. wanted to try Old Town since it is my neighborhood.. not a good experience

Great sunday sangria brunch. Food portions are very generous, so the three tapas for $22 is plenty. Can't beat $2 sangria....affordable enough to try them all. Pleasant service. Just wish windows opened so you could enjoy a breeze on a nice day. Will go back for sure.

Our first round of tapas came out quickly, but our second round took FOREVER. Included in our second round was ice cream for our 4 year old--even if the hot food wasn't ready, bringing out dessert for the toddler would've been nice. Any time there are small children at a table, expedited service is appreciated whenever possible. Since we were one of 5 tables there, expedited service shouldn't have been a problem. We ended up taking our second round to go.
