La Tasca - Alexandria
Just kind of average. The food wasn’t memorable. The service was extremely slow. They knew 13 of us were coming and the restaurant was empty due to the snow. I tried to give my card so everything could be on one check to make life easier and the waitress said no she would rather do 13 separate checks. It was my birthday and luckily the group of us had fun but La Tasca didn’t do anything to make it memorable.
Celebrated my birthday here recently...loved the remodel/update of the interior. Food was delicious, Cadillac Sangria was yummy & the Paella is a must have! Waitress was attentive & friendly even as she continued to push us to purchase the most expensive wine (red AND white!) on the menu. La Tasca is a favorite restaurant of ours, and we have always had a great time!
Hey were out of two wines that my friend and I asked for. I also don’t eat ham and asked for a protein sub for my salad which could not be accommodated. That being said, everything was still delicious and satisfying and I am sure I will be back.
Food was excellent, as usual. Service was outstanding, as usual. We had a leisurely New Years Day/Husband’s Birthday lunch with good friends. Smiles all around.
Was happy to spend New Year’s Eve at the Tasca , only disappoinment no Alive Band I was expecting that and also website mention about that . Otherwise all good .
I usually LOVE La Tasca - we have hosted a party here before. New Years Eve was such a disappointment. We had a reservation, and weren't seated for 20 minutes after it had passed. Our waiter took an hour between courses to come by. This is not an exaggeration. Our reservation was for 8:30, there were three pitchers of sangria for our table of 5, and five courses. We didn't leave until 12:00, when he brought our third pitcher of sangria WITH THE CHECK, and we missed the ball dropping and any celebrations we have had planned afterwards. I go to eat here all the time (like twice a month!) and this is the worst ever. Were they understaffed? What was up? If you're going to host a NYE special and prix fixe menu, you've gotta do a better job. I won't be coming here for any more special events. For $99 a person, it was a HUGE disappointment.
Excellent food but terrible service. Due to NYE our waiter received 20 percent. Unfortunately he did not deserve it! He rushed us every moment of our visit. It was difficult to enjoy our food. Ran out of H20 twice.
New Year’s Eve
Noise levels too high
Would not return
Food was cold and service was not great.
Just a fun place to go too with friends or date. I recommend going on happy hour or brunch
wonderful food and wonderful service. not too busy and great for familu
I would recommend La Tasca as a lively place for tapas. It would be good to get Spanish cheese in the empanada instead of what tasted and looked like a gooey orange melting cheese. Fried eggplant is good but of course a little greasy--maybe dump it on a paper towel quickly to eliminate that. The high tables are nice around the bar and they do have food service at the bar. Nice live music on Saturday night.
This was my first time back after the renovation. Bad move. I used to love their empenadas...now they are just full of cheese and little meat. Not even their bacon wrapped dates taste the same. I usually order 2-3 plates of them, I didn't finish the first plate. Service was slow...our waiter was admittedly new (went from collecting dirty dishes to a waiter the week prior). However, other around us also complained of their poor service. I took some out of toen friends here to celebrate my and my twin's birthday. I was so disappointed, will not be returning.
Dinner was tasty. Skip the desserts though, not worth the price.
Nice, pAella delicious!
Outstanding food, service and wine!
We took friends who had never had paella surprisingly. They loved it! I kind of miss the decor before the renovation but the food was great. Go on a live music night, worth it!! So fun!
There right at opening. Fabulous service, food and drinks very tasty. Brunch menu was great value, three tapas and sangria. Will go back.
Went toLa Tasca for first time. Tapas were delicious. Service outstanding. Will go again.
We really like our waitress, she explained to us the menu, very polite, she was so professional, I think her name was Maria from Colombia.
Party of 7. Reserved on Open Table well in advance for Thanksgiving Dinner. Received confirmation and also received a request to confirm via Message on Wednesday (the day before) which I received-confirmed. Traveled about 35 minutes to the restaurant on a very cold evening only to find the restaurant is closed. We did not receive any call, email, message, etc that they would be closed although they had my contact info. Very Ignorant and disrespectful.
We usually like La Tasca but there was a campaign event they didnt tell us when we made reservations or when we got there. They set up a microphone for the candidate to address his volunteers and people where banging into our table and we couldnt herr each other. They should have let paying customers who were not part of the event know ahead of time.
Out service and food were slow because of the event.
Had an unexpected opportunity to have a late meal with some friends. La Tasca had a time that fit us. We we seated in a booth which was perfect for the four of us. Our server did a great job of explaining the specials to us. We picked several plates to include the chicken empanadas, the garlic chicken, the cheese fritos and the bacon wrapped dates. Everything was very good. My only complaint was that the place was a bit load. It was a little difficult to hear each other with the large crowd present. This was our 2nd visit and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. We will definitely make a return visit.
Great Happy Hour Tapas deals and option for dinner!
The service was outstanding, very detailed and attentive. Our server was willing to answer all the questions that we had and she always responded with a smile.
The restaurant was very noisy. The waiter didn't get our order quite right. The small plates were good, but the price was very expensive.
Food and service were great. Only complaint is that they did not have curtains for their large window. Sun was intense and uncomfortable. Otherwise, great place and value.
Our waitress forgot to bring an item...and never realized it but charged us for it. It was easy to solve and we were too full, anyway, but...
Quiet dinner on a Sunday evening. Exceptional service by our waiter. Though not on the menu, the chef made us a delicious vegetarian paella which we remembered from our last visit two years ago.
can't believe I hadn't eaten here before. The tapas were delicious and the live music a bonus surprise.
We were introduced to La Tasca by a friend and immediately reserved our next dinner out there - food was wonderful, service was attentive without being aggravating. It's a lovely restaurant - whether in the main room or sitting in the bar. A really excellent selection of food stuffs - definitely something for everyone.
Interior of restaurant is much lighter, brighter, and appealing since the recent renovation.
The menu hasn't changed appreciably; the food is still very good and the sangria is super.
We were a group of 5 adults and 2 small children. Staff was most accommodating and
attentive without being intrusive.
Great service and food was delicious
Love the repainted interior! It’s soooo much brighter. We came for happy hour, and there was an excellent selection of food and beverages for everyone. Everything was delicious, and the server was courteous and helpful. Very attentive.
Our waitress, Amina, was fantastic. We were a group of ladies out for the evening...she kept our sangria full and the plates coming. Her recommendations for food were spot on! I’ve visited previously and sat at the bar; I would definitely be back to share plates with a table again.
Authentic Spanish at reasonable prices.
Made reservations just in case we extended our happy hour....staff were amazing. Unfortunately we were unable to use our reservation, and the bartender assisted us in canceling it. Sangria was delicious. Tapas were tastey and filling. We didn't even eat dinner. Amazing time. Will definitely visit again.
We have always enjoyed their food . . . here in Alexandria, DC and when it was open at Inner harbor Baltimore. We plan trips just to go here to eat. Tapas = small plates to share, order a couple see what you like then order some more service is quick. Great fresh crusty hot bread. A variety of sangria's
I love La Tasca and have been here many times and have never been disappointed. However, our server must have been new because he was not doing a good job. A child meal was not brought until the meal was almost done, he was not knowledgeable on the drinks menu, and he was just not attentive.
