La Taqueria - Castle Street
Walking past our open kitchen to your table, you will see an enticing array of Margaritas, Mezcales, Tequilas and Mexican beers being served from our bar, ready to get you in the fiesta mood.
Our tacos are made with traditionally crafted soft tortillas made from stone-ground Mexican corn called nixtamal, generously topped with a choice of delicious fillings.
La Taqueria hits every note. The staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable. One dish came out wrong to our table and almost immediately our waiter pointed it out and took it back to the kitchen to get it changed. As a vegan, they've always been very helpful in pointing out which dishes and sauces are safe for me, which is always appreciated. Not to mention, the food is phenomenal. It's a bit more expensive than some other spots in Belfast but it's well worth it for the delicious food and wonderful ambience. Would absolutely recommend to a friend and hope to come back again soon!
Food delicious, service brilliant, tequila delicious
Excellent resturant with fabulous service from the staff!! Great recommendations from the staff tasty hot food with even hotter cocktails!! Will definitely be back!!
Great night, food and service. Joe was a gent with a real passion for the food he was serving us.
Food was fantastic, it was noisy because it was busy but you get that anywhere. Really nice atmosphere as well, will defo be back!
A wonderful experience, ambience and food perfect for a lovely night out
First time to visit. Loved the food and the staff were superb. I'll be back!
Visited here with friends who were on a longweekend from Devon after watching Sunday Brunch! It was fabulous we didn't even know you existed! We certainly do now and will most definitely be back......a lot 😆
Awesome in every way. Good staff service fun all great
Fantastic food, cosy atmosphere and the staff are good craic. Would definitely go again
Absolutely love La Taqueria, hidden gem in castle street, food is to die for along with the margaritas. Good vibe atmosphere in a beautiful rustic setting. My favourite place to dine in Belfast 100%
Meant to be authentic Mexican surely not. Overpriced, overvalued and not nice! The food is bland and appears often to be almost like a pulled pork joint. Nothing is good although nothing is horrible either. There is little variety obtains and one choice of desert. Give it a miss in my opinion
This wee place is a hidden gem we had an amazing meal and the service was amazing ..waitress was called ashling she could not do enough for us and knew the menu like the back of her hand highly recommend this place
Although the food was excellent, the portions were a little bit smaller than expected.
Servers were great.
Would definitely go back.
Lovely food, really good range of authentic and creative mexican dishes. We shared a started of refried beans and chips and shared two orders of tacos which was just perfect for a evening meal before heading out. We also had two really lovely margaritas which paired great with a bottle of Pacifico. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive in just the right way. Nice casual setting with a high standard of food. It would be nice if there was more of a tasting option so we could have tried a small bit of a few different things but we were still very happy. Good value too.
Great food and service . Would definitely recommend. As it’s quite a small restaurant, we did find it very noisy making it difficult to hear one another.
Excellent nutritional tasty food with very good service.
Absolutely the best tacos in Belfast! Great staff and delicious margaritas
Could only get a table for 6pm on a Friday as called very late. Service was friendly and food was great. The restaurant was recommended to me at home in Aberdeen, so good news does travel well. Starters, mains for 3 people, 2 glasses of wine and 4 bottles of beer was just over £80. This included a 10% service charge which I would have left regardless, however, I dislike service charges as a concept as the food can not walk or fly from the kitchen so I take that journey to be part of the service. Plus I’m less likely to pay it for any expectations not being met. Personal rant. The restaurant was very good though so book it early!
We had a lovely meal here last night, the food was amazing and great value for money, the staff were very attentive and extremely knowledgeable around the various mezcals we wanted to taste, the atmosphere was lively and we will definitely be back!
Staff were amazing. Each one was an absolute pleasure
First time here-won’t be the last. Food was amazing, atmosphere was brilliant. Loved it.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere, with very friendly and enthusiastic staff, willing to offer recommendations when asked about the menu. The food was delicious and very light, there was 5 of us in our party and we all had something different and all were amazing. Fab margeritas! Will definitely be back!
This was our third time there and hate to say but food wasn’t as good as before.
First time here, got Taco Tuesday menu and went for the Chicken special, my partner had the Cactus veggie option both of which were beautifully presented but to be honest given the freshness and quality of the produce they could have sent it out on a dustbin lid! Definitely be back to this gem. Waitress was lovely, attentive and offered advice which we both required, chef was a gentleman and went round the tables etc. A very enjoyable evening would definitely recommend.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food was v.good. Decor perhaps could be fresher, signs of faded paint on walls etc.
Amazing cocktails, delicious food.
We went at 5pm and it was pretty tame - it was starting to get a bit more vibrant by the time we were leaving - would recommend heading there for 7 for taco Tuesday.
The food was absolutely beautiful, so fresh and well presented. Enjoyed every bite!
Fabulous food, atmosphere and service. This is my third time eating here and it always impresses me
Had a fantastic time at La Taqueria it is an atmospheric little hidden gem in middle of the city. The food was amazingly flavourful and authentic and so were the cocktails. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. I would recommend anyone who likes Mexican to give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.
I've been to the other La Taqueria in Ormeau Road and was *very* disappointed by the service, but I'm glad to say that La Taqueria on Castle Street is still a lovely, friendly, informal place to come for something to eat
La Taqueria is one of my favourite restaurants in Belfast without a doubt. The food is amazing every time, the margaritas are the best I've ever had and the service is second to none! I love it.
Great food and staff. The ice machine was broken so no frozen cocktails 😥
Incredible as always! Great food, excellent atmosphere, and superb service through the night. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Brilliant place and an absolute must for your time in Belfast.
Absolutely flawless meal at La Taqueria. From the minute we entered the premises we were well looked after by the waiting staff who took the time to explain the menu and have a bit of banter along the way. I opted for the Taco el pastor (Porto shoulder) which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Afterwards I decided to have a Pisco sour in lieu of desert which was excellent (my better half went for the Churros, which after having a sly taster I could have happily finished her portion)!! There was a great atmosphere/ buzz about the place which only adds to the ambiance. If you haven’t been it’s a must try, you’ll not be disappointed!!
Fab food fab atmosphere and Margs to die for! You don’t feel like you are in Belfast!!
Had a very enjoyable meal at la taqueria . Food was really nice, staff friendly and helpful.
Really good fresh tasty food, lovely atmosphere and beaut Mexican beer. Great date night!
Food was delicious, a little overpriced for what you get, they also automatically put a 10% charge on the bill, whilst I always tip in excess of 10% I felt like it on the bill as a necessity dampened my overall experience.
