Since 1996 in Cruz Bay, St. John. A Favorite of locals, loyal repeats and new guests. We just moved to our new beach location as La Tapa Plage in the Wharfside Hotel Village in March of 2022, still featuring the same interesting ever changing menu including fresh local seafood, organic greens & herbs form Coral Bay, flavors with a touch of Spain & France (Basque Country), Germany and Caribbean. Our goal is to make you feel welcome, cozy and inspired by our great wines, delicious food, good service in a beautiful atmosphere. ---Open for dinner service at 5PM Friday through Wednesday. For parties larger than 6, please call the restauarant at 340-693-7755.---We will be open for Thanksgiving, but closed on Christmas Day.-**We do not have high chairs or booster seats. If you need either, we do have bench seating in the dining area that work's best for small children. Please request bench seating when making your reservation.**

                                                            La Tapa is the perfect place for a lovely meal. The ambience is amazing with open air toward the bay, lovely wooden tables with differing and eclectic chairs and settings. It is elegant yet comfortable. The food was some of the best we've had and rivals the best meals in Italy and Hawaii. Our server was delightful and knew the wines and menu well. We had the best (not fried) calamari appetizer we've had, an amazing salad, a fish meal and a pasta seafood meal; all with powerful flavors that blended well. It was an amazing evening!

The service was courteous and perfectly timed, allowing us to fully enjoy the evening without feeling rushed. The food was truly exceptional—each small plate was crafted with care, and the flavors were outstanding. My husband and I shared four delicious dishes and still had room for a refreshing sorbet to end the meal on a light, sweet note. The view was breathtaking, offering us the perfect vantage point to watch the sun dip below the horizon. A truly memorable experience!
