Since 1996 in Cruz Bay, St. John. A Favorite of locals, loyal repeats and new guests. We just moved to our new beach location as La Tapa Plage in the Wharfside Hotel Village in March of 2022, still featuring the same interesting ever changing menu including fresh local seafood, organic greens & herbs form Coral Bay, flavors with a touch of Spain & France (Basque Country), Germany and Caribbean. Our goal is to make you feel welcome, cozy and inspired by our great wines, delicious food, good service in a beautiful atmosphere. ---Open for dinner service at 5PM Friday through Wednesday. For parties larger than 6, please call the restauarant at 340-693-7755.---We will be open for Thanksgiving, but closed on Christmas Day.-**We do not have high chairs or booster seats. If you need either, we do have bench seating in the dining area that work's best for small children. Please request bench seating when making your reservation.**

                                                            We waited for 45 minutes for our table because another party was having “ such a good time.” We frequent this restaurant quite often, and only when I asked the maitre de to tell them another party had a reservation, did they move along. No offer for a free drink or dessert for the wait. The service was not the greatest, but we love the ambience.

                                                            Debbie, I am sorry you feel that way, I am the General Manager and spoke to you that evening. I told you there were other tables available, but you wanted THAT specific table. We treat all of our guests as family. We do not want to rush any one out of restaurant, and want everyone to enjoy their time with us. We appreciate you coming to dine with us, but we are still running a business. We have certain timelines for reservations, but we will not force reservations out of their seats. I am sorry you were inconvenienced, but we had other options available. We look forward to seeing you again.

                                                            We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at LaTapa. Seated right by the water to watch the sun go down. Delicious bacalao/lobster appetizer and excellent paella. The service was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return!

                                                            The star of the show is the location and the view. The food is good (I’m a foodie) but not a I must come back experience. The service was absolutely top notch. Even the busser was friendly and added to the overall positive environment.

                                                            Wow! Been going to La Tapas for years, from by the old police, when it was a small wooden shack until now in the location where the Water Front Bistro was!! Great location and even better service and as always the food is terrific!

                                                            We had a wonderful dinner at La Tapa celebrating two graduates. Zach was incredible from start to finish, despite the restaurant being very short staffed. Delicious espresso martinis and all 5 of us got the Seafood Pasta entree and it was so tasty all while enjoying beautiful views of Cruz Bay. Thanks for a great night!

                                                            We’ve been to La Tapa before but this was by far our best experience. The service was impeccable and the food fresh and delicious. The roasted pineapple and Thai ice cream dessert topped off a wonderful meal. A lovely view of the bay wasn’t too shabby either.
