Great experience. Food excellent and service outstanding. I will make La Sirene a breakfast place stop on future visits to NY.
I met a visiting friend from Ohio at La Sirene UWS. The breakfast was so good that we decided to meet there for dinner the next time that she visits New York. I had the delicious French pastry, a café au lait, and an egg white omelet. She had coffee, scrambled eggs with ham, and a remarkable bowl of berries. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was spectacular, and prices were quite reasonable. We got out for under $50, including tip.
As usual, great food and service. The filet mignon was wonderful.
Wonderful spot. Delicious food. Fantastic ownership and staff.
Love the place. The food is for the most part very good but come away with a half full tank. I had the pork loin just wasn't enough even with the fries. I don't really want to fill up on fries. This has always been a issue but we still come back the place has such a authentic bistro feel. The waitress was so engaging and French.Bon appetit
La Sirene UWS is our favorite restaurant on the Upper West Side. The kitchen is superb. The two salmon dishes and the broiled oysters were our favorite dished on Tuesday night -- particularly the oysters. The desserts were, as usual, spectacular. The service is warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and efficient. The wines are quite good. That night, the wine from the French women's-owned winery were a wonderful discovery. I hope they stay on the wine list. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant was full, friendly, happy, and quiet. I recommend reservations for dinner.
A little slice of Paris right in our neighborhood. The food is delicious, nicely presented, and portions are ample. La Sirene offers 1/2 price wines by the glass, which is a terrific impetus to try the place. This corner restaurant is small and lowkey, but well worth a visit. Lovely service.
It’s like taking a trip to Paris!
Our waitress was hostess/waitress and full of joy. She was the most pleasant, upbeat waitress that we have ever had. Then came the food which was out of this world. My husband and I shared the sauteed foie gras and I had the kassoule and my husband had rack of lamb. The food was outrageously good. We hope to return soon.
nice cozy French bistro !
maybe should have some french music?
Very authentic bistro
We love having La Sirene as part of the UWS line up. It is the perfect neighborhood destination for any occasion, the food is consistently delicious, the setting is warm and the staff are above and beyond gracious. Alsu always makes us feel welcome. With all the shuttering of businesses in this area, I can only hope that La Sirene will be here for years to come.
When we arrived there was only one other couple at a table. By the time we left, the restaurant was full. However, we were not served in a timely manner. There was only one waitress. Our food was cold (eggs Benedict and a hamburger) and the second cup of coffee (never offered, requested) came 20 minutes later. The food was not tasty. I have rated dinner at La Sirene downtown, so I was extremely disappointed.
Dear patron, we are very sorry to hear you didn't have a good time with us on UWS. Flukes happen but rest assured that we will use your feedback to improve both the kitchen and the service so we can serve you better in the future. If it were to happen again, please let our staff know immediately so they make it right to you on the spot. Respectfully, Benjamin La Sirene
Delicious food and excellent service. Will visit again.
Extremely charming decor, friendly staff, and high-quality food preparation.
We went for Valentines day and they had a prix fixe menu for the day. It was very busy and crowded, but once we sat down it was very intimate. The hostess / waitress was very helpful and fun to talk to. The food was great. I got the duck and my fiance had the filet mignon with foie gras , both of which were delicious. We both got oysters as our appetizer and they included a free salad for both of us, all of which was great. Overall highly recommended trying this place out. Can't wait to go back.
Went for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend. The service was immediately excellent and continued to be. The escargot and the filet mignon were rich and luscious. It’s a bit expensive but for a special occasion I’d highly recommend.
Valentines Day. Despite being fully booked, service was unhurried and cheerful. Everything came out on time an in order. We were not rushed.
Wonderful dinner at a fine local bistro. Terrific escargot, rack of lamb and hangar steak. Next time I’ll save room for dessert.
A mixed bag. First of all, the nicest and most helpful staff you'd ever want to meet. Three of us dined for Restaurant Week. Appetizers: escargots were very good, just what you'd expect; pate was well seasoned and beautifully presented but the texture was a little off-putting...more mealy than meaty. Main courses: rabbit was superb; cornish hen was nicely flavored but OVERCOOKED; monkfish was a dud. Dessert: chantilly in pastry was nice, however banana creme brulee was a diaster: thick and pasty and unfocused. On what planet is traditional creme brulee not proof of God's existence?? Less is more!! As for the wines, a serviceable Sanceree cost $21 per glass. My fault for not paying better attention to the prices, however, 400% markup (reckoning the bottle at most is $25 at five glasses per bottle) is CRIMINAL. Aside from the usurious price, they could do much better with the wine list, unless you're prepared to shell out $2,600 for a bottle of Cheval Blanc, admittedly an anomaly.
Dear Anthony, our floor staff is grateful for your feedback. As for our wine list, prices have indeed gone up since 2019, and we share your frustration. The looming threat of tariffs imposed on French wines have already led to price increases on several references, including the Sancerre. Other financial burdens have also resulted in such increase, including real estate tax hikes and minimum wage hikes. Looking forward to keep serving you as best as we can, Sincerely, Benjamin La Sirene
Fabulous food, wonderful host and waitress. Restaurant week best pick.
Fantastic brunch! The tart is to die for and the service was great!
Very small but cozy restaurant with attentive and friendly service. The food was out of this world!!
Overall food was ok for French bistro...pate was not traditional French pate...it was more like eating meatloaf. Escargot was good. Hanger steak was delicious and cooked perfectly.
A perfect French meal, great value for Restaurant week! Friendly servers/owners with a warm welcome on a cold January night! Good options on drinks menu to accompany hanger steak, Cornish hen or sleet fish! Something for everyone at our table! Will definitely visit again!
Lunch at La Sirene is a special treat. The menu is varied and I've never had a dish there that was less than very good. Overwhelmingly, the food is excellent. Service is excellent and prices are quite reasonable.
I took my wife here for Restaurant Week and had a fantastic meal. The prix fixe menu was great with steak, Cornish game hen, escargot and rabbit all available and the food was delicious. Without a doubt the best French meal I’ve had in quite a while. Very strongly recommended.
