Support La Sirene during COVID-19
took my boyfriend here for his birthday. foie gras was amazing! don’t pass on the escargot or filet mignon. our waiter was kind enough to bring out a desert for us which made the meal that much sweeter! love la sirene i will always keep coming back.
Amazing restaurant. Small and nothing fancy inside, but it is cozy, and the food is outstanding!!!
Wonderful service as always. The food is consistently delicious and that’s why we keep returning.
Delicious food in a cozy setting. Wait staff and hostess very warm and attentive. Loved it and will be back!
Our host Nino was wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable. He gave us great meal suggestions and we loved his favorites in the starters.
Main course was quite good but starters is what got our vote :)
Dessert was a miss but again it’s all subjective. Do give La Sirene a visit and try it out yourself :)
Genuine French food which rivals most of the restaurants in Paris. The staff members are terrific!
The food is delicious - great French cuisine! Service is attentive and romantic atmosphere.
Delicious food and friendly service. The seat is a little bit uncomfortable.
Excellent service and phenomenal food. Love the ambience and attentive experience. Highly recommend!
I was beyond disappointed with our dinner last night. Based on the vast majority of reviews, we must have experienced a very off night. I had to send the seared foie gras (my favorite food on the planet) back because it was cold. The second one came out slightly warmer but was still cool. The cassoulet was overcooked, probably because the foie gras had to be remade. The banana brulee, offered an anniversary gift, was also overcooked. We took a bite each and left it.
We were SO excited to try La Sirene after all of the amazing write-ups and reviews but unfortunately there are too many consistently amazing restaurants in the City to support at this difficult time for all of us. I wish them the very best in the future.
Dear James, We are sorry that we didn't live up to your expectations. Be sure our chef takes customer feedback very seriously and always strives to improve his recipes. Please always let your server know if there is any issue with the food and we will always make it right immediately. Respectfully, Benjamin
I love the way they have their outdoor seating situated for COVID. Their food is always awesome. The area is quiet and separate from the chaos of center-Soho.
As usual, La Sirène Soho never disappoints. The food is typical south eastern French and the maitre d' Nino is fantastic. Moreover the outdoor tables adds a new charm to the restaurant. With a nice glass of wine and a cassoulet, you couldn't be closer to the Castelnaudary experience! Keep up the good work.
Great food and service. My wife is vegetarian and had very nice options from the appetizer selections which was perfect for her dinner. She ordered 3 dishes, which I shared, Beet salad with brie, Goat Cheese tart, and Truffle ravioli. I ordered the Frenched Rack of Lamb which was exceptional. Meal was accompanied with bottle of red wine from the Corbieres region which was also very good. We finished with the Banana Brulee. All plates were cleaned. I was last here 6 years ago and loved it then...after this meal, I asked why I waited so long to come back. I won't wait that long for my return.
Highly recommend. Good food and reasonable price. I will definitely come back!
We had a wonderful evening at La Sirene tonight. My husband and I shared the onion soup and escargot to start and left not a drop of either dish. Absolutely delicious. The onion soup was savory but not too salty as some can be, with a perfectly crusty cheesy top and the escargot were bathed in delicious garlicky butter. We soaked all of that up. We had the filet with foie grad and the duck breast with cranberry sauce. Both to die for and they came with a selection. Four vegetable sides. All great. Finished with a chocolate lava cake with coconut sherbet and meringue with Grand Mariner, caramel and creme Anglaise. I needed a wheel barrel to get home but every calorie was worth it. And the service....fantastic! Our server was totally professional and so friendly. We only wish we could sit at his table every night. Highly recommend.
Truly fabulous in every sense. Exceptional food, drinks and service.
Cash only, but there is an ATM outside. like the steak and lamb.
An excellent dining experience! The food and service was impeccable
We loved the restaurant. You can tell they care about food. Owner came out and totally charmed us. Not a lot of vegetarian options. Tight quarters and no waiting room when we arrived.
Friendly staff. Food was amazing. One of my favorite restaurants.
Valentine’s Day meal in a small, Paris bistro-style restaurant. Meal price and quality outstanding! Wine list excellent and affordable. It was second time that I have eaten here and first for my fiancée. We both enjoyed the prix fixe meal. Large portions. Highly recommend this place. Only negative was that we were seated close to the door and got cold air whenever the door was open.
I hate to write anything less than an excellent review but our experience at La Sirene was truly disappointing. My husband told me to pick a spot for us to go for Valentine's Day--he wanted to take me out for a special dinner because we hadn't had a date night in a while. I had been wanting to try La Sirene for quite a while and a friend had recommended it so I made a reservation. We were really excited but it was quite a disappointment. I will say, the food was great. But the service and experience was very poor. We were seated immediately, which I appreciated, and it was crowded by that's a NYC restaurant on Valentine's Day so I get it. Unfortunately my husband's chair was directly in front of the door and every time it opened it was FREEZING cold air blowing on him, which wasn't great but perhaps can't be avoided. We were given laminated pre-fixe menus by the host and left. For a while. After several minutes I finally caught the eye of a server (I get it, they're busy that's fine) but instead of coming over to welcome us, tell us about the menu/restaurant or offer us a wine list or some water, he just said "Are you ready to order?" Those were literally the first greeting words we received. I would have liked to see a wine list. I would have liked some water. I would have liked him to say hello and make us feel welcome. I asked for water three times before I received it and we were prompted to order right away. We just asked for two glasses of Cabernet (since we had no list to go by) and he said "Malbec" so we said, okay. I asked about an entree and he answered and then said "and which dessert?" well they're kind of half written in French, so I asked him if he could tell us what the four options were, but he just said "these two are the most popular." Fine, we'll have those two.
Still no water. Ordered a second glass of wine but I think he forgot and we didn't receive it until after our entrees were cleared. Had wanted it for my filet.
Dear Katem, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry we didn't live up to your expectations for your Valentine dinner. As you mentioned it is by far the busiest time of the year and we try our best to provide our guests with a memorable experience. Unfortunately space constraints are real in NY restaurants, however you should indeed have received more attentive care during your meal. On a positive note we're glad you enjoyed our cuisine :) Respectfully, Benjamin La Sirene
Excellent service and ambiance, the food was delicious - especially the profiteroles! 10/10 would come back and would recommend.
Well prepared dishes from Chef's home town. Good wine list. No bar or waiting area, so need to pregame on 6th.
This is what I perceive to be classic French cooking. It is well prepared and properly served. The rabbit (rather hard to find in New York), and the profiteroles were especially noteworthy.
We sat in a space that felt rather more dark than most places. This was not a problem at all, but should be noted.
Trying a new place out for restaurant week which I haven’t done in years and wanted to give it a try again. Cute restaurant. Table was ready when we got there. Seating is very close to one other. Food came out quick and were tasty. Everyone there pretty much ordered off the restaurant week menu. It’s hard to judge the food based on that cos I feel the portion size would be different for the regular meals.
Great food and service
Excellent!Love the food and ambiance. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent. BYOB corkage of $10 is a great deal.
Great food and casual atmosphere.
Love love love it. The area smells like garlic and thyme. Food is great. Servers are so nice. Perfect for romantic dinner
I went to this restaurant for restaurant week the other night and the service was horrible. It took 1 hour after being seated to get our bottle of wine and the complimentary bread. The staff did not come over to our table until we asked multiple times for someone to take our order. After 2 hours went by and we had not been served any of our food we decided to leave and get dinner elsewhere.
Dear Patron, We're very sorry to hear about your negative experience. You're right, we were overbooked as it was the first weekend into Restaurant Week Winter 2020 and we were not expecting such a turn out! Rest assured that we will now make sure we are fully staffed and ready from now on. Hope you will give us another chance and try our cuisine :) Respectfully, Benjamin Taureau La Sirene
Second time here and will keep coming back!
Good , good prices and very good service. I would recommend this restaurant even though it is a little out of the way if you are on the Eastside of Manhattan
We went for 2020 NYC Restaurant week. The prix fixe menu had a wide selection. Thought it was a BYOB, but not so with the special deal. No problem. The wine list was a bit pricey. The staff was very personable. The ambiance was comfortable. Nice noise level - soft music, not too crowded when we were there. The food was delicious! A classic bistro menu. Will definitely go again when we can explore the menu further and BYOB.
We chose La Sirene as we looking for a French restaurant in Soho during NYC Restaurant Week. We were very pleasantly surprised - food, service, ambience were all excellent. The escargot, hangar steak and rabbit were outstanding.
Perfect old-world French restaurant with welcoming service and relaxed atmosphere.
Steady customer for several years. The food and service are
consistently excellent. Additionally, the pricing is modest
considering the quality and quantity delivered to the table.
While the ambiance is lacking, it remains a charming reminder
of what restaurants in the city used to be like. They even
'have white tablecloths matched by on point courteous service.
Excellent French food.
Probably the most authentic classic French cuisine in New York City. Nothing experimental, no fusion, just perfectly rendered time-honored old school dishes. The ambiance isn't fancy but the service is genuine and attentive.
