This restaurant was an unexpected surprise. We go to Chelsea Market all the time and didn't notice this restaurant before (across the street). Food was delicious and nicely "lite" for Italian. You don't leave feeling stuffed and uncomfortable. We did the pre-fixe menu and it was great value for the money. We went during the holiday week (Christmas) so the ambience was quiet and staff very attentive (possibly due to limited patrons in the restaurant). Would highly recommend because the food was fantastic! I've been to Italy and this was the first time I have gotten close to the same quality we ate there.

Terrible food and service - I have eaten her before, but this experience was extremely disappointing. Place was empty on a Sunday afternoon yet the service was bad - server did not know anything about the wine list or menu. Food took a while to come out and they were cold dishes. Inedible - ended up throwing it all away. Server never checked in with us, asked how it was, or why we did not eat our dishes. Will not be returning.

Met an old friend and former colleague for dinner on a cold, rainy Monday evening in December. We enjoyed a refreshing bracer at the bar before moving to the quietly elegant, yet comfortable dining room for an amazing meal. La Sirena is my favorite restaurant in the city. It never disappoints.

The food was phenomenal, my only issue was that because we were sat in a corner with windows on either side of us, I had to keep my coat on. We were so close to the other table, we really lacked any privacy, and in a 20,000sq ft building... that’s just poorly arranged. Our servers were great, possibly a bit slow to get food out and return our check, but they were slammed this particular night. Overall, we had a great meal, just a chilly one!

Food was ok. The waiter spilt an entire glass of wine on my cousin and did not apologize. Nothing was taken off the bill . They offered to pay for dry cleaning. We drove 400 miles to eat at a Michelin Star restaurant and we were disappointed. My son wanted to go here for his bday.

This is my very favorite neighborhood place. I am devastated that La Sirena will be closing soon. This is a real loss to me and my friends. If you get a chance to dine here before they close ask for a table with Kurt or Robbie. They are both attentive and wonderful.

My experience at La Sirena was excellent! Service was flawless! We came for Thanksgiving dinner and the course presentations were perfectly paced. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. As a special surprise, we were sent home with thanksgiving “leftovers”: turkey sandwiches! Adorable!! Highly recommend!

What a wonderful thanksgiving we had here. Staff were so nice food was delicious. Who needs to cook on thanksgiving? And they gave us a doggy bag to go home with a turkey sandwich. Highly recommend going here.

The restaurant was very busy and spacious but the service was terrible. It took over 15 minutes to get a wine list. After selecting my wine, the server returned to say they were out of it. He sent over the sommelier who tried to up-sell me to a $150-$200 bottle of wine. When I resisted I sensed an attitude and abruptly handed the wine menu and while he stomped off. It took another 15 minutes to take our order then over 30 minutes to be served. Our entrees were cold. To their credit, when I sent back my pasta because it was hardly warm, they promptly returned with a "warmer" meal (which they comp'ed) but it still wasn't hot. The food was "okay" but not worth the wait and certainly did not match the hype you would think existed given the crowd. There are so many better restaurants, especially Italian restaurants, in NYC, I wouldn't go back.

All four in our party thought their entrée was one of best they had had in a while. service was fine - occasionally it was hard to catch our waiter's eye but the wait staff were on top of everything. only negative comment is that wines sold by the bottle seemed extremely expensive. We ended up ordering by the glass to control the cost

Excellent meal all around from appetizers to dessert. Recommend the Duck Breast and the Lamb Chops and all of the Pasta Dishes. Very creative kitchen and excellent service.

I called before hand to inquire if they personalize menus for a keepsake. I was told they do that and they took the information. It was meant to be a birthday surprise. We got there and no one mentioned anything. I had to ask about it and I was told they only do it for a private party. It was disappointing to be misinformed.

Food great. Service: less than ideal! Lack of care & focus despite a very quiet evening with very few customers: - Jacket of one guest on the floor: not even picked up! - Sparkling water being served to all without asking (some guests only wanted still water) / same error done twice! (2 different waiters) - 1 waiter physically pushing through between guests to serve water without even saying sorry - Wine order forgotten / we had to ask again - Overall staff not smiling and not engaged Definitely not to the level of a Michelin star tonight in terms of service.

We waited 45 minutes for their signature steak dish for two. Ordered it medium rare as recommended and it came well done. We were there to celebrate my 60th birthday and all they did after ruining the night was to send an extra dessert. Very disappointed, will not recommend and never go back.

I was a little dissatisfied with the food. I have an onion allergy and I told them before we placed our order and the food showed up with onions. Because I encounter this issue often, I always check my food. I called the waiter back and told him about the situation. I ended up a salty fish dish. Super disappointed experience.

Eggs were excellent! Great quiet place to get away from the city hustle. Prices were a bit steep for service and food offered. Presentation was cute, bread was a tasteless warmed baguette that didn’t really taste fresh. They have a terrace and tables inside. If you’re looking for a place in the meatpacking that is not busy for brunch, here is the place to go to! overall nice experience.

Last year I had several fabulous dining experiences at La Sirena. So this year I decided to take a group of friends to celebrate 2 birthdays. What a disappointment. Not only was the food unremarkable but the service was poor starting with the attitude of the manager The day after our visit I heard the restaurant is closing. It is a shame. But if this recent experience is in any way a reflection of what the next few weeks will be like for diners do everyone a favor and close now. If not then bring back the quality food and service I loved so last year.

We ordered the four course meal- amazing! Each dish was brought out at the perfect time, when you are ready for the next one but had just enough time to digest the last. Our waiter was attentive, despite the busy Saturday night. I loved the uniqueness of each dish, and the flavors were blended together exquisitely. The ambiance of the restaurant was modern, with an elegant touch, perfect for the evening. Only complaint would be the bathroom cleanliness and accessibility, but it is an older building, so that is to be expected. I would definitely recommend this place to others for a fancy night out or a special occasion. Top quality food and excellent service!
