They change the menu so the food it’s not good, bathrooms were super dirty, waiter takes forever. Just to be one of my favorite places... sorry not anymore
They made the guacamole dip right at the table, that won the day for me. The staff was very friendly.
The restaurant was hard to find and very noisy inside. while the presentation of the food was nice the taste wasn't. The wait staff were very attentive which I appreciated.
Keep hoping this place will get better. Service staff is always friendly and efficient. The food is sadly lacking. Don’t think we’ll try it again.
Took a little bit for the server to get to us. She brought us waters we ordered apps and a drink. She never returned until we finished our waters with our app and no drink she had forgot. We asked for water and waited 8min or more before we got it. She came to our total of 4 times from start to finish like including greeting and paying. Awful experience and the food was super average as well.
We really enjoyed our meal and the margaritas and guacamole were great!
The place is beautiful and my server, bartender and the manager that I saw were very pleasant. I also liked my breakfast burrito and the drinks were tasty. My one concern was speed of service. I took advantage of the bottomless drinks but was very disappointed by the speed of service. The servings (mimosas in a small flute and margaritas in a rock's glass) were small, so one would think to check back often to make sure drinks were filled (2hour limit). From the time we ordered, to the time the drinks hit the table, I think maybe 8 to 10 minutes had elapsed...and the dining room and bar area was empty. I am a server and I felt like we annoyed our server because we would try to order a drink even though we had one in front of us that was about half full. We were right to do this because for the majority of the time, our drinks were empty. The absence of having a drink or being able to order a drink was so bad that I thought that management had a policy on frequency of drinks. Maybe a deterrent to people getting too drunk was a goal? If not, then bigger glasses and/or increased speed of service would be appreciated. I will still go back and give it another shot because other than the speed of service, I had a GREAT time!
Very disappointed with the service we received on 2/18. We have been going to La Sandia for many years and never had any issues. The food was also cold, and old. The carnitas was so dry we couldn’t even eat it. It also took over 30mins for them to bring out desert and all we ordered was a piece of cake and chocolate ice cream. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be coming back.
This is our go to place for birthday and special events. The chairs are no very comfortable, but everything else was very very good. Service is the best and food is delicious.
La Sandia is a little tired. Food was okay, but nothing special, and not hot. It was much better the first couple years they were open. Chairs are very hard and get uncomfortable after a while. It got very loud, too loud, making us have to shout to hear each other.
Went there for lunch. Restaurant was not busy so no wait on seating. Chips and salsa were good. Ordered the steak tacos, steak was a little dry and overcooked and the corn shells were dry and overcooked and crispy everything kind of fell apart. We didn't have a bad overall experience, just expected a little more from the food
Went there for brunch menu on Sunday. I really enjoyed it and the drinks were delicious! The amount of food you get for the price was on the expensive side.
Haven't been here in a while and everything was delicious. Great service and food came out fast.
Got there for our 8pm reservation and they had already closed without nofitfying us.
Love the lettuce wrap option! Our fajitas and enchiladas were delicious and a big thank you for offering complimentary chips and salsa! The chips were warm and fresh and the salsa was so good and perfectly spiced. Service was quick and very friendly. We will definitely be back!
The food is fresh and delicious, the service is always prompt , and the atmosphere accommodates a date night or getting together with friends. This is why we continue to return.
Excellent service. Great service and seated quickly by hostess and great service from wait staff, Alejandro.
La Sandia never disappoints. One of our favorites when on the east side of town. If you enjoy having a large selection of tequila to choose from to pair with fresh and creative food, this is the place to be
The food was just splendid! If you want just to stuff yourself on tacos and burritos, go somewhere else. If you want delicious Mexican food come to La Sandia.
Service was slow and not very responsive but the atmosphere was great and the noise was moderate, so we could have conversation without shouting.
We will definitely be back for more super delicious food.
My enchiladas were cold, in the way that happens if they're never cooked all the way (not from a delay in serving them). And the credit card machine was broken, so it was cash only, kind of awkward for a business lunch.
We had a great meal together. There was a nice atmosphere, fabulous service and great food.
Fajitas meat so tuff could barely chew. Out of 6 meals only one was good. Very disappointed as this was a birthday/ Xmas celebration.
We used to love La Sandia. The decor, ambiance, wait staff, food. It was a great package.
Our last visit left us flat. The wait staff while efficient lacked personality and panache. The food was blah. The presentation looked like something out of a cheap Mexican restaurant in small town America. Not fresh. Not original. Boring. The taste matched the presentation. No excitement. No bursting of flavors.
What happened? Did Taco Bell buy La Sandia? That's how it felt. Sad. (Thank you Mr. President.)
Loved our waiter, loved our food. My margarita was a bit weak but tasty. I wish the guac wasn't so expensive. Most of the prices were decent but $10 for guac? Really? Had a bigger party and they definitely made sure we had room and were comfortable.
Ok place to eat. Better around for the price.
The quality has really declined. The chips and guac are amazing but everything else was a big disappointment.
The food was pretty good, but the service was bad. It took forever to get our drinks and then our food. It even took our waitress a long time to give us our check. We finally had to ask another waiter if he could get our check for us. I would not recommend going there.
Jenny was extremely nice and helpful, on the phone and in person, overall, the service was wonderful, fast and pleasant.
Been going here for years and it is on a steady decline. Service has gone downhill- terrible. Noise level is ridiculous. Food is edible but nothing like the gorgeous plates we used to salivate over. So disappointed, should have known something was up when they kept dropping the price of the Groupon.
Really great service and delicious food. We were going to the Improv down the street and they served us very quickly. It was appreciated!
WAY overpriced for flavorless Mexican. There much better places in Denver to have great Mexican food at half the price.
Food sucks…..................................................................................:.:.::::::::::::
My husband and I ate dinner here while in Stapleton on business, and had a great dinner sitting outside on a nice September night. The food was all really good, and abundant. The chunky guacamole was good but I preferred eating it with the homemade chips (and salsa) rather than on the large cracker. My combo plate of stuffed chile pepper, enchilada and quesadilla with chicken Tika (with good rice and beans) was tasty and I brought half homeless my husband also liked his steak fajita platter.
The food was mediocre. The service was excellent.
The service was great. Food was real good. The salsa was delicious. The only drawback were
the black beans. They do not look appetizing on your plate. They taste just fine, but I should have ordered whole beans with my meal. The tacos were very good. Rice was also good.
Great place to meet up for lunch with people from north of Denver!
Server was great but the food was not very good. Our nachos were super soggy, the burger was a mess. The guacamole was good, but its expensive at $11. Their agua frescas are very good.
Tortilla soup not what was expected. Seemed like a thick enchilada sauce as a base instead of a nice light broth base.
Tableside guacamole was nothing special and small.
Fish taco was "fishy" - seemed not fresh.
Service was SO slow and inattentive.
The food was good, but the service was terribly slow. They didn't seat us for 10 minutes and we had a reservation. The margarita I ordered took 15 minutes to be delivered after having to ask for it twice. My date and I had empty water glasses on multiple occasions and our food took over 40 minutes to arrive after we had ordered. Our server never came over to apologize for the delays and she wasn't even the one to deliver our food or bring us our check. Never going back there.
Waited 20 minutes for a table despite having reservations, if I wasn't meeting friends I would have went elsewhere. Took another 10 minutes to get water, then another 10 to order drinks. Finally I asked a waiter if we could order food, but had finished 1st drinks before we were able to order food, so had to order more drinks. Food took forever to come out, drinks took even longer (by the time we received our 2nd round of drinks, we had eaten all the food). Had to hunt down the waitress to get the bill, then waited another 15 minutes for her so we could pay. Plan on being here a LONG time for ok food (very small portions), weak drinks, and horrible service.
