Service was thrown off immediately because our server thought that the kitchen closed at 7:00pm even though my reservation was for 7:00pm. She rushed us to order including handing us menus in spite of the fact that it went against their COVID policy. She eventually told us that she was incorrect about the closing time just to follow up with bringing me the incorrect order. The food was subpar except for the crab guacamole. My first and last visit.
We usually go there for the beef fajitas. They change their menu and display when serving this item. There was no seasoning and it’s sad because it used to be consistent. I will likely not go back again
Awful should have gone to Taco Bell
Food does not taste the same as the last time we dined there (about 2 months ago). Quality and portions of food went down!
Waiter took too long to serve requests, such as bringing additional tortillas. I had to ask a bussboy to bring them.
Also, at the end, the waiter came with the bill. Reviewing the bill for a couple of seconds and found the total amount to be higher than expected ($140). Waiter was watching from behind my back, and immediately asked to pull the bill and correct it, that is without me asking him to do so. I have the suspicion that the waiter knew the bill was wrong and thought it will pass by the customer w/o noticing, but I could be wrong! Waiter came back with the correct bill afterwards. Not a good experience to have.
We were disappointed. We had enjoyed La Sandia in pre-Covid visits. We understood that menus are often limited right now. However, we found the portions small. The tortias for th fish tacos were soggy. In general the seasonings were lacking. Service was slow.
Great Food and good service.
We're thrilled to see you enjoyed your experience at La Sandia - Tysons Corner! Thanks for taking the time to leave us a five star review. We look forward to serving you again very soon!
Great food and service. The staff handled the covid policies very well making us feel comfortable while also checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.
We are incredibly grateful that you took the time to leave us a five star review. Our company places customer satisfaction as a top priority and we are committed to achieving this with each patron. Its customers like you that make our job truly wonderful. We look forward to serving you again soon!
Everything was fine except for the veggie enchiladas. Either too much vinegar or too much tomatillo in the sauce. Extremely sour tasting.
Great very good food and quite
Very delicious steak tacos, pork carnitas, and watermelon agua fresca. Always a great experience.
I previously dined at the restaurant a few times over the last 10 years and always enjoyed the food. However, as I have dined in many restaurants over the years, I realize that there isn’t very many options and no real creativity in the food as compared to other Mexican food restaurants. In addition, I came for brunch on a Saturday due to an email I received three weeks ago announcing bottomless brunch for $19.99 to only get there to find it it had been canceled due to customers not wanting it. In fact, the manager said that “over 60 people had walked out” because they wanted lunch and not brunch. Clearly, it was not introduced properly as every brunch venue I’ve been a patron of also offered a lunch menu as an option. The food has become lack luster and I don’t see myself as ever returning.
It’s hard for everyone during the Covid-19 distancing, but the staff did a nice job. My date and I enjoyed ourselves.
Excellent food, great service.....we will come back next year on our annual trip to NVA and DC
Great to be back and eating out at one of our favorites. Margaritas were great also.
We tried the new brunch it was excellent.
The food taste frozen and the waitress was very quiet with low energy.
We found the food exceptionally good. The server was friendly and timing of the meal was paced just right. My husband and I had the carnitas with sweet plantains on the side. Both were as good as any we’ve ever had. The couple with us felt the same way about their tacos and veggie fajitas. This is an excellent Mexican restaurant and we definitely plan to come again.
Chicken dishes were some of the worst; dry and bland
The food quality was very ordinary. I ordered a fajita and it was served in a plastic tray. It had a table spoon of guacamole and the fajitas were bathing in oil. It was really a disappointing experience and this thing costs $18 bucks. My wife had a similar experience on her dish. Not worth it.
Server was awesome.
The waitress was unfamiliar with the menu and the bar was slow to make our drinks.
First time for brunch here and service was great! Had a passion fruit, a blood orange mimosa the burrito! Very good!!
Food was not too tasty and not alot of options. Sangria was juice, didn't really taste like wine or any liquor. Appetizer was small but they gave you chips with salsa. Decor was old.
Food was cold well at least mine was. My family really liked it. Service could be better but I think the waiter was new so we understand. Food was really cold tho but starving so just ate wish I would’ve brought it up.
I've eaten here before and it's been hit or miss - this last time was a miss. This was on a 3-day weekend on a Sunday evening at 7:15 following a movie. The place was not crowded at all and we were seated first by the bar. There were 3 in our party and we asked to be moved to a quieter location - they were seating everyone near the front by the bar to make the place look busier than it was. Service wasn't fast, but it wasn't slow either - just...there. I ordered a draft beer which arrived several minutes later and the beer was flat - probably near the end of the keg - but a bit disappointing. Next I ordered the 3 street tacos - 3 different types -what I ended up being served was 3 chicken tacos - none of the tacos I ordered were chicken. My wife ordered carnitas - they came back a few minutes later and told her they were out of carnitas but had ...you guessed it - chicken....so, this visit was not one for the ages....the next time I want to go to a restaurant following a flick, I think I'll try a different place - this one has played out for me
The food selection at La Sandia is always superb. I always get the fresh guacamole served tableside. & the pozole which is hearty & filling. You can also choose to be seated in the bar area where it’s busy or opt for a quieter ambience inside. Come during happy hour for the best value on drinks & appetizers!
Good food, terrible service. Would go again in the hopes of having a more responsive server.
Great guacamole and carnitas
Guacamole was very good but rest of food was mediocre.
Very nice atmosphere. Customer service is excellent. wait staff was extremely attentive. Managers are so very polite and hospitable. I would highly recommend La Sandia for family or group gatherings. Muchas gracias a managers Silvia and Amari (sp?).
Food was great.
Much attention from servers was good, frequently checking if we wanted anything.
Noise was too loud---had to shout to be heard in conversation.
Salsa was bland and had no flavor. Weird shade of brown. Chips were thick and bland as well. Drinks were okay—ordered house margarita. Food was just ok. We go here because it is never crowded but it’s easy to see why.
Decent restaurant- great ambience. Food was ok- didn’t care for the sweet corn cake- avoid if you dislike cheese with your corn.
Just not great.
Don’t expect something exciting or wonderfully flavorful.
Food was okay but not fabulous.
Selections need an update. Making the chips a little less fried could be a start. Try different beans rather than the old school refried (and full of fat) beans.
If you’re trying to eat fresh, healthy food, it will be difficult to find here.
Staff really tries — they’re cheerful and friendly but the restaurant needs attention.
It was great!
Took a while before our waitress took our order. We had a few issues and one dis was incorrect and the waitress forgot to bring the salt and lemon as we politely asked. The restaurant was not very busy and the service was slow. I would probably give it another chance, however I wouldn’t recommend quite yet. Sorry, just being honest.
Great food. Good staff that accommodated my large party.
It was my first time at this restaurant but I will be returning. The food and atmosphere were great. We weren't sure about the waitress though. I'm not sure that she ever said anything and we were not sure if she understood us. Perhaps she is just a quiet person. She was very nice though. Wonderful restaurant.
Small mistake occurred with the restaurant — management could not have been more responsive and professional.
The fajitas were $23 and came with very little meat and veggies. We eat here often and the quality of the food has decreased.
