La Roca Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We weren’t aware that it was a fixed menu until we arrived. No price was quoted and determined it was around $100 each. Every course had a wine pairing but half of our party don’t drink wine. Wonder if the price would have been adjusted accordingly but it was never offered. Nothing was posted on open table when reservation was made. All prix five dinners we’ve had before give you an option to purchase wine pairing separately. Food was very good. Will go back but would love me more info ahead of arriving. This was Christmas dinner and we really didn’t have an opportunity to schedule elsewhere.
Estuvimos en la terraza. Bonita vista del mar. La comida nada extraordinaria. Bien. Solo asi. El servicio bueno aunque quieren vender lo mas caro. Pedimos salmon ( bueno ) y un new york ( bueno ). Vale la pena solo por la cercania del mar. Este restaurante esta dentro de un hotel, lejos del centro de Cabo San Lucas.
We are owners at the Grand Solmar Resort and go to La Roca many times for our meals. It is a wonderful restaurant and this evening was as wonderful as usual. Our waiters, both Francisco and Jose, took very good care of us and we enjoyed things immensely. Today, we are in a storm situation that is pretty serious. La Roca was moved to an inside restaurant by the Resort and it continued to be wonderful for breakfast. Israel, our waiter today, was very very good and we are all making the best of Tropical Storm Lidia.
Last night in Cabo and we wanted something special. La Roca was our choice as it is in a new exclusive resort on the Pacific side and had good ratings for fine dining. We looked up the menu and it looked promising. When we arrived we were met with friendly people who went out of their way for our comfort. We started to get disappointed when we learned Friday was a tasting and fixed menu. That didn't last long as Raul (our waiter) went through it all and guided us along to what ended up being a culinary delight. When i asked for a non alcholic beer and they didn't have one, he created a special " cocktail" for me. My wife chose the 6 course tasting menu and picked a steak. They matched courses so she wouldn't eat alone. We had told them it was our last night and they brought a special dessert gratis. The violinist was excellent and the ambiance next to the waters edge was spectacular thanks to the entire staff for making it special. We will return.
I looked up hot spots in Cabo and La Roca came up as one of the best 10 restaurants. First I thought that I was making a mistake of going to a restaurant in another resort, being that we had three beautiful spots where we were staying. But as soon as we got out of the taxi at Grand Solmar resort, I knew that I had made the right choice.
La Roca restaurant was elegant and yet very inviting, we felt comfortable as soon as we stepped inside the beautifully decorated main room that we walked through to go to the terrace. The food was excellent. The view was magnificent. The service second to none.
My wife and I always look for a special place for our anniversary and La Roca is by far one of the best we've ever had. We celebrated our 25th anniversary this past June and I have to say this was the perfect place for us. With the Pacific Ocean just feet away and the sound of the waves crushing in the background it was so relaxing and peaceful, we could've stay there forever. The food presentation was first class, not to mention the taste, it was superb. The "Happy anniversary" message on the dessert plate made very personal
Thanks Christian and Jose our servers for a wonderful evening we will remember for a long time!!!
We were staying at Grand Solmar - our annual visit! It was my grandson's 6th birthday and the staff made the evening so special. He ate every bite of his pasta and shrimp and the Cheesecake Birthday cake was a wonderful surprise. The food is delicious - sitting on the veranda is calming - and the staff are incredible.
We were recommended this restaurant by friends and even though the location is amazing, we personally felt that it lacked ambience and did not feel like you were in Mexico, feels more like you are in America. The starter of shrimp tacos was good but my main of sea bas and lentils was not worth the price
My wife and I took a cab from Fairfield Inn - $ 12.00. Normally we would just walk downtown but this was a little farther so we took a cab and glad we did both ways. La Roca is a great night out to get away from the bustling downtown and to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Food was very good with great service. Had a nice bottle of Italian wine with our fish entrees. Make sure you order the coffee at the end and move over to the patio and just sit and relax.
We stayed at the Grand Solmar Land's End for vacation and the La Roca is right on the water, with a nice porch for seating and inside dining. The menu was plentiful and the food was very good. We dine out quite a bit and the service for La Rosa was hospitable and "just right" on checking in with us from time to time, without being around all the time ... , nice balance and very professional.
Everything went pretty well until our entrees arrived. Then we were completely forgotten by our waiter Miguel. We wanted to order desert but by the time I was able to hail another server after 20 minutes or more we just wanted our check. When Miguel arrived with the check there was no acknowledgment of our wait. When I produced my credit card he asked me for my ID. I dine out several times a week both at home and while traveling. Never before have I been asked for my ID. After giving him my drivers license I was doubly surprised when he walked away with it! This made me very uncomfortable - especially so after it took another ten minutes for him to return with my check, card and drivers license. Poor treatment.
The dinner, ambience, and service was exquisite. After our wedding ceremony, we wanted a beautiful celebration dinner and could not have asked for a more perfect location. To hear the waves crashing on the shore as we ate on the terrace was lovely. The food was delicious from both land and sea. The presentation was unique and a delightful wedding dessert a lovely surprise. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Nice setting, good service, reasonable prices but food was just OK.
(Personally, would not go back.)
I had Fish which was perfectly cooked, but it had no sauce or lemon or anything to give it flavor. Boring. Side dish was an odd combo of bean sprouts, grain, and veg and was also quite flavorless.
Probably the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant. The view was beautiful at the ocean's edge at sunset. Dinner was superb. We started with lobster tacos followed by garlic soup. We both had the sea bass for our entree. I had key lime pie and my husband had Oreo cheesecake for dessert. Everything was wonderful. We are looking forward to another dinner at La Roca on our next visit to Cabo.
