Open table allowed us to make reservations when restaurant was closed. Total waste of gas n time.
Was anticipating a nicer location but this restaurant is in a strip center with questionable surroundings. The food was average for the price.
Note to self: Mother's Day is not a day to try this restaurant unless you WANT cold buffet food and indifferent wait staff. Not good, not good at all.
Mother's Day dinner - good selection on large buffet. Good price. Great desserts.

Evidently we choose a bad day. The night before Mother's day and also the weekend of Texas A&M Graduation. We also booked a Groupon for a 5 course meal. I was taking my wife out for a very special Date Night.
We got seated in a hall way across from a Prom table of 10 high schoolers. They actually were very entertaining (all on phones most the time!). The rest of the larger tables had groups from graduation.
I presented the Groupon and was eventually told that due to them being very busy they had a very limited menu and that our Groupon was a poor choice for the night. We would have had to choose items off the limited menu.
Fine, we ordered off the limited menu. We got a nice bottle of wine (they have an impressive wine list) and the Crabmeat Stuffed Avocados for an appetizer. It was excellent. We have had that before.
My wife ordered the $25 rib eye and I ordered the $29 filet. The two most expensive items on the limited menu. My poor wife could not hardly cut the rib eye and when she did, she had to spit it out because she could not chew it. My filet was quite small, tough and marginal at best. It had a nice sauce on it, which saved it.
The poor waitress was very nice and I think on a 'normal' night she would have been great. As it was, she could never check back in so we could complain about her steak. Finally as they cleared plates we were able to talk to them about it. It was obviously a very bad cut. They did the right thing and credited it.
Overall, the service was slow, but I think just too many patrons and not enough servers. The entree meats were VERY disappointing. The wine was excellent as was the appetizer.
We have eaten there a number of times and all previous times were excellent. I think poor management, too many patrons and poor quality assurance in the kitchen was to blame for the rest.
We will return as we have $95 Groupon to spend yet. I will call ahead to make sure it is not a busy night!
This was our second time dining at La Riveria and both times the food was excellent. Service was very good as well. We would definitely return when back in town.
College graduation weekend- so they were slammed.had s slight problem with steak temperature . The staff and management were more than attentive in rectifying our order. I was perfect! Great food, drinks and prices were fair!!!
Disappointed. Extremely overpriced for quality and quantity of food received. Slow service. Out of shiner bock, out of several wines. Extremely loud. Party of 10 seated at a table designed for only 8 people making for an uncomfortable dinner. - despite having reservations for weeks. Would not consider going back.
They had a special menu for graduation week and the filet was wonderful. Nice wine list option with varitey of options.
First time there -- was celebrating daughter's graduation from TAMU!! Great ambience and food was very good. Great service. Will be back on none special occasions!!
We were there for a large party for a graduation celebration. We were promptly seated. Food was excellent and reasonably priced for an upscale restaurant. Our server Steven was great and quick to serve us. The ambiance was tasteful and modern. Loved it!
Great place. They were able to accommodate our large party and the food was really good. The prices weren't cheap, but very reasonable for what you got. The service was a little slow which seems to be the norm when you have a large party (13), but otherwise, we were pleased.
I reserved a place for 10 here after our son's graduation from Texas A&M at 5:45. Others had the same idea, because the place was packed. They also had a downsized menu, which makes since for a HUGE celebration weekend, but the prices on the available menu were higher than I was expecting. I do wish the website had said they would have a a pared down menu.
Everything was delicious, especially the seafood stuffed avocados! Service was a bit slow and we were forgotten at one point, but once again, the place was packed.
Overall, we all enjoyed our meals and I would still recommend La Riviera.
The food was served cold and white wine served warm. But maybe because it was graduation weekend. Food was good.
We celebrated our daughter's graduation from A&M at La Riviera. The food was amazing. We had fish, chicken, steak, and beef medallions and there were no complaints. The stuffed avocado was amazing as well.
So sorry we made reservations here. Open Table doesn't offer many options in the Bryan/College Station area and during graduation time you don't want to not have reservations. So we booked here. NOT again. The only good thing I can say is that the strawberry salad was actually good. Several of us ordered the ribeye. It was may a 1/2 inch thick. I ordered medium plus, my dad ordered medium well. His was all but burned, mine was well more than well done. Sent his back, but I tried to eat mine. When his came back it was medium minus. The mashed potatoes were dry and didn't have much taste. Service was really bad. Our waitress acted utterly offended that we sent one of the steaks back. Hardly ever came by our table. Hope she enjoyed her auto-added gratuity, otherwise she might not have gotten anything, maybe if she had to actually work to get a tip she'd do better. Very disappointing experience and we will NOT repeat it. Hope this review will keep other Aggie families from the same awful experience!
As always, our trip to La Riviera was wonderful. We each an appetizer - crab cakes and a stuffed avocodo (both of which come with a salad), an entree - beef filet and stuffed salmon, and a dessert - creme brulee and key lime pie. We also had a bottle of wine.
The service was excellent, and the food was fabulous.
Usually visit for lunch or dinner and have always been pleased. La Riviera is now at the top of my list for brunch in CSB. I noticed a lot of slightly negative reviews with their Valentine's Day service, but if this visit is any indicator of improvement, they have done exceptionally well!!!
This was a first visit for a brunch (Easter), and it was excellent!!! There was such a wonderful variety of dishes to choose from including several leaf salads, couscous, chilled shrimp, pork medallions, smoked salmon, eggs Benedict, crab stuffed salmon, roast beef, grilled vegetables, and a plethora of desserts.
I booked this reservation as a backup to another for Easter brunch, and I am so pleased that the other restaurant was booked full. Otherwise, I would not have had this wonderful culinary experience!!!
If you have the opportunity to visit La Riviera for brunch, you will be met with a variety of excellently seasoned and prepared dishes, and as always impeccable service!!!
Doesn't look like much from outside, but inside a hidden gem of delightfully eclectic menu and glad-you-came service. Beer and wine, no liquor.
Food was delicious, service was excellent. It was a little chilly inside, but that may have been because our reservation was late and the room wasn't very full - because it was late.
La Riviera has excellent food. The southwestern chicken and red snapper were delicious. So were the crab cakes and fried cheese.
But the service....fair to poor. Our meals were brought out in stages instead of at once which is always awkward because then some at the table have food and some don't. We had to wait ten minutes for salt and pepper. Coffee was never refilled. Appetizers were delivered without plates to eat them on.
And the decor needs serious work. It's 1980s Italian decor: red walls, Tuscan and French mass produced prints that are too small for the walls, and a ceiling piece that defies description.
The food rocks, though.
I visited your restaurant to celebrate a special occasion for my daughter. We arrived early and were informed we could sit outside and order beverages - which we did. The waitress was very nice but knew very little about beverage service - a glass for a beer and to open the Modelo bottle (it's not a twist off). Wine was reported to be very good.
Dinner was nice, but the service was horrible. The waiter was clueless and really made for a challenging meal. If there is one thing I would recommend that you focus upon it would be the training of the wait staff. Clearly, there were some who knew what they were doing and some that needed much more training.
At the end of our meal, it was clear that the wait staff wanted to go because they started tearing down tables and making noise - rude. I would not recommend coming back again and that is sad because the food was very good. If a customer cannot relax and enjoy themselves - why bother?
Banquet food from a set menu and not the menu posted on website. Over priced and poor quality.
This restaurant was recommended to us by some friends. If you are looking for a moderately priced establishment with slightly above average food this is a great spot. Everything about this evening was average or a little above. If your expectations are in check-you will enjoy. We had (2) chicken dishes and steaks which were all cooked as requested. Caesar salad was above average as well as the meatball app's.
Food and Service were excellent. Look forward to trying other items on the menu.
They did a very nice job creating a special evening to celebrate our son's 21st birthday and getting his Aggie Ring.
