Excellent food. The tuna tartare was fantastic. The wedge salad was grilled romaine, which was different than the usual iceberg, but also better. My wife had a filet and I had braised short rib, both were perfect!
Great meal and outstanding service.
LA Riv has a fantastic wine list and great food. The best of the whole experience was the friendliness of the staff and their outstanding service! Try the Salmon dip as an appetizer and you won't be disappointed! Most of the sides for the main dishes can easily be shared between two people as they are large portion sizes and are a la carte.
La Riv was a fantastic place. When we arrived we were greeted by very pleasant people and taken to our table. We were given the special menu for the day along with a regular menu. We choose from the special menu after clear, descriptive definitions of various Items on the menu. The calamari was excellent as well as the Cabernet Sauvignon. I highly recommend the Lobster Ravioli-it was light for a pasta dish and had great flavor and texture. My husband thought their Prime Filet was cooked perfectly. He also enjoyed the mashed potatoes and spinach which again were cooked perfectly. Our entire time at La Riv was memorable. The people working there are pleasant knowledgeable and really want your experience with them to be outstanding. The food, atmosphere. And location were ideal. We will definitely return.
Father’s day dinner was perfect!
Our evening at La Riv was exceptional! Our food was delicious and the service was outstanding! We will definitely be coming again in the near future. Thank you!
Had a wonderful evening on a Friday night with my beautiful bride of 47 years. She had a filet and I had the ribeye we split mashed potatoes and asparagus. Steaks cooked to perfection. Excellent meal can’t wait to go back again- I forgot about the desert- we again split the bread pudding- just right! Thanks
Our waiter was outstanding...the food was delicious...the ambiance was lovely. We will go back again and again!
It was okay. It wasn’t what I expected. Made a reservation it wasn’t needed. Took a little while for the server to greet us.
Our appetizer were great, bruschetta beef tenderloin & crispy Brussels sprout. Our bottle selection were on point. Our dinner plate were hit & missed. The aged ribeye had great flavor. My wife’s plate were too salty.
We also ordered spicy margaritas nothing but margarita mix. Nothing spicy but the single jalapeño in the glass. Their old fashion drink served with a bunch of ice instead of a big single ice block.
Overall it was just okay.
Valentines Day dinner. I took my wife and 14 year old daughter. We all had steaks and I had steak and lobster. Scallops and shrimp appetizer and also deserts. The steaks were excellent. There were only two shrimp and 1 scallop on the appetizer, it was very tasty but could have added a few more to it. The deserts were great. We enjoyed our meal. The service was food even though they were over whelmed with people. Ryan did a great job. Coming from the Hotel Industry, I would have added white table cloths and red rose buds to the tables. They were plain well used wood, no salt and pepper nor sweeteners. We enjoyed our night overall.
Kara was our spectacular server! Always smiling. Always checking back and filling our wine glasses. Great suggestions and explanations of the dinner offerings. The 2 large sides of sweet potatoes was quite surprising. Maybe suggest a share or cut the portion to half which would have been plenty. The sea bass was prepared perfectly, yet the portion seemed small for 32.00. Overall a wonderful experience. My first visit for dinner. The remodel is very inviting. I'll be back soon!!
We were looking for a nice quiet dinner and found it here. I had the rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection. We also ordered a nice wine

Wonderful experience. Great food.
I love this place, we go every year to have our staff party, awesome food, people are great and very friendly.
One of Temple’s finest restaurants! Love the food and service! Definitely recommend to all foodies!
Had the is is so buco served on polenta. Tasted great. Polenta was cheesy with garlic and cracked black pepper - very good. The Napa cab that was recommended by our server was excellent.
Great food and wait staff is wonderful. Tony is masterful with his rib-eye steak! Pasta is always super!!
My wife and I went here for our 39th anniversary. Glad they were open on Sunday! We were amazed at the food! Everything, from the garlic bread, wedge salad, entree and dessert were prepared with love and caring. Nothing was “average”. Ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye. Oh my word....melt in your mouth succulent and perfectly aged! My wife and I agreed the bread pudding was the best we’ve ever eaten. You will not be disappointed!!!
Kevin Thank you so much for choosing La Riv for your anniversary celebration! We can't wait to see you back again at La Riv! Vira Chudasma Chef Owner La Riv Kitchen & Bar
Food was not very good.... And it was very expensive. :(
I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon La Riv one day before their grand opening. It was an absolute delight and I will return often. Food is amazing. So much more than traditional Italian. Service was good, wine was good, vibe was good. La Riv offers USDA Prime beef from a local ranch that is the essence of Texas. I ordered a 6oz filet and huge lobster tail for $56. Beat that somewhere.
It was Tuscan, which was ok by us. We started with the normal bread and olive oil with spices. I love garlic, but it was so garlicky that it was not enjoyable. Then, we ordered Moscato with the meal, and were served a Sauvignon Blanc. Imagine also a restaurant where there are no salt and pepper at the tables. The food was ok, but nothing ground-breaking. Overall, the food was bland, the service inexact and not attentive. We won't be back.
My husband went to La Riv because we thought it was a more upscale restaurant. For us, upscale means scratch made or at least well cooked food. My husband got the seafood risotto and I thought I would try their spaghetti and meatballs. We also ordered the calamari and a bottle of wine. The risotto was decent but fairly bland, but I was so disappointed in the spaghetti. I told my husband that it tasted like something from a box. It wasn't bad, but you don't want to eat at restaurants that taste like something you made at home. After we paid our bill, the manager was at the table next to us, telling the table that their pasta maker was broken, so there was no fresh pasta. I don't know why our server wouldn't have told us, because paying $16 for boxed spaghetti is absurd. Especially from a restaurant that you expect better food from. Our bill was $90 and we tipped our server $20. Granted, the calamari was $16 and the wine was $34, but to pay $40 for sub-par food is pretty disappointing. We definitely have no plans to go back there.
Excellent food and service.
Great food and we will be back. We went for Valentines dinner and you could tell the packed as many people as they could. Tables were close to each other and people we back to back. We had a great dinner and the service was great.
Food was very delicious. But being Valentines day, service was slow. I Understand that it was a busy time however it was taking the server 15-20 minutes to accommodate simple requests such as bringing a dessert menu. I would be willing to give the restaurant another try because the food was very good. Oh and there were plenty of tables, yet they sat us at an outdoor table they brought indoors... not the most romantic seating.
Our first dinner we had about a month ago here and thoroughly enjoyed so we decided to return and unfortunately wasn't near as good as it was our first time.
Went early to avoid crowds, which made for favorable experience/good service. Enjoyed the food, happy hour pricing on pizza/drinks. We will return.
First time we went was great, food and service were fine and it was not too crowded. The next time we went it was like a different restaurant. Overcrowded, under staffed and poor service.
Love this place! The real deal...great food for a fair price by a REAL chef!
The food is absolutely delicious, from the appetizer to the dessert.
Went on a Thursday night for a date. Place wasn't packed so they let us pick where we wanted to sit. Server was amazing and anticipated our needs. My date enjoyed herself, however, the music was a little louder than I would like, I still enjoyed the music and could have a conversation. Great food.
First time here and I really enjoyed the restaurant look and presentation of our food. Very delicious
Has potential! Extensive bar menu but no bar tender wait staff was making drinks and were under qualified. We received our appetizer and finished it before drinks or entree order was taken. We had the cheese board for appetizer, Italian Salad and Chicken Marsala for entrees. We came home hungry. The portions were small. We are pretty sure the chicken was not fresh but frozen and then fried. So if you’re looking for fresh.... the sauce and spinach was good though.
The food is always exceptionally authentic.
Wonderful food! Always a pleasure!
We have had a pleasant experience dining there on a number of occasions now. I would say the restaurant is consistently run well, based on what we have seen. The food has been well prepared and seems thoughtfully crafted. You should consider ordering two courses for the full Italian meal as portions are good sized, but not generous. It is a good meal that is well presented.
Everything was absolutely delicious from the mussels, arancini, shrimp appetizers to the Bolognese sauce, scallops over Risotto special, pizza, steak cooked to a perfect medium rare. Excellent martinis & wine choices! Highly recommend
We went for our 2 year wedding anniversary and enjoyed the experience. Prices were a little higher than necessary and my husband's spaghetti sauce tasted like it was not homemade, but overall, we enjoyed it and would come back for special occasions.
Overall great experience. It was a little busy considering it was Mother's Day , so it took a little while for the food to come out. We were still done, however, in a little over an hour. Our server was great. So, all things considered, not bad. Definitely recommend La Riv!!
