La Quinta Cliffhouse Ratings and Reviews
Food and service by server great! However, notice manager went around to EVERY table to ask how things were and skipped ours, like we didn't "count". There were only about seven tables in dining room. Hope it wasn't because we were the only "non-white" table.
La Quinta Cliff House is built into the side of a rocky outcrop. It has waterfalls running from the patio to the first floor entry. A most unique restaurant. There are a variety of delicious menu items and an attentive staff. I can't personally comment on the bar or wine menus because I don't drink but everyone in my party enjoyed their cocktails. This was our second visit this year and we decided to share it with friends.
We went to celebrate our anniversary with our adult children. The menu was perfect for all of us. I have been to the restaurant several times and have had the Chilean Sea Bass. Nice wine selections and my husband's favorite Mud Pie dessert. The sEafood stew is very good as is the Bread and the Caesar salad. We like it very much and will be back again
Friendly, fast service. Although it was my birthday we did not know a desert was provided for a birthday celebration. The waitress asked if anyone was having a birthday. We would not have mentioned it because we don’t like the restaurants to sing happy birthday. The desert was quietly served.
We love the Cliff House and chose it to celebrate my husband's birthday with another couple. Unfortunately there was a VERY NOISY table of 8 nearby and we could hardly talk until they left, which was after we were finished. I know this is not the norm because we have eaten there many times. Just our bad luck!
We always look forward to going to the La Quinta Cliffhouse. Once again everything was perfect. We arrived on time for our dinner reservation and our table was waiting for us...and a window table to boot!! Biff (GM) happened to be at the receptionist stand as we stepped off the elevator and welcomed us as a true restaurateur does. The place was packed even at 8 o'clock but everyone in the dining room was enjoying the evening. The food and the service was spot on. And a special shout out to the parking valets. THANKS EVERYONE!! We'll be back again real soon.
Visited Palm Desert during Thanksgiving holidays. This is the 2nd year in a row we made reservations at The Cliffhouse on Thanksgiving Day. Just hubby and me. The menu offered 5-6 choices of 3 course meals including soup or salads, full turkey dinner, salmon, prime rib and other entrees with veggie sides, potatoes and choice of delicious desserts. Hubby and I selected the prime rib which both were cooked to perfection—-so flavorful! The Caesar salad for me and the Kale salad for hubby, plus apple crisp for hubby and ice cream pie for me. The salads were the perfect size and authentic. Hubby liked his Apple Crisp but did say it was on the sweet side. The ice cream pie was delicious—From the Oreo cookie crust with whip cream to the creamy vanilla ice cream. I would order that again.
Everything was delicious. We did not regret not having turkey on Thanksgiving. We will not hesitate to eat here again on our next visit. Also, the service was efficient and friendly. Parking was complimentary valet. Very easy in and out with a very pleasant lunch in between.
Love this restaurant. Been here for other holidays. This was the first time we came for Thanksgiving. Sat outside in the afternoon and loved it. Great atmosphere, wonderful servers and service and a delicious 3 course Turkey dinner. Highly recommended. One of the best restaurants around.
Our second time here. The people we were with had been many times. They told us that the happy hour was really excellent and VERY popular. Dinner was good, short ribs, salmon and pork tenderloin. Noise level in the room we were in wasn’t bad and we were a party of 7. Setting is unique, pretty entrance. Prices reasonable. We will be back.
We've been here several times over the last few years when we pop out to the desert for a mini vacation, and it is one place that never disappoints. Whether you want a casual happy hour or something a bit more elegant, this restaurant offers great food in a beautiful setting. The service has always been consistently good as well.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing sunset views and character! We had the sunset dinner menu which had a great selection of tasteful dishes enjoyed with a nice bottle of wine. The service was incredible, fast and friendly. This was our second visit to the Cliff house and our second trip to Palm Desert. We will definitely return on our next visit!
We arrived for a 6:00 reservation and the restaurant was so busy we had a bit of a wait. However, the staff was so attentive, brought us a round of free cocktails, and kept us up to date on the progress of our seating. Very classy. All five of us had an excellent meal and free birthday dessert. I highly recommend The Cliffhouse!!!
We all had excellent meals .. my brother had the filet mignon (and it was free because they were buying the meal of all veterans), my husband had the pork tenderloin and I had the roasted chicken. The pork was rare and my husband asked that it be cooked to medium and they were happy to do that. We shared an ice cream sundae for desert and had a wonderful time.
